We find our group of mercs walking out of the after life.

"Ahhhh.." y/n said as he stretched. "  Welp it's official, next stop konpeki plaza." Y/n said with his arms behind his head.

" I still can't believe Dex let you slide." V said, thinking back to an exchange between the two men.

Flashback:

"You sure you want to go down this road?" Dexter asked y/n  from his seat.

"Yeah i do." Y/n said with his arms crossed. " Like Jackie said We"re going into the most dangerous place in night city, if we are risking out necks for a fucking chip im not doing it for eddies i could get working 3
gigs wakako or 2 for rogue, 45 percent or im out."
Y/n said putting his hands in his pockets.

"Y/n..." V said looking at him,  he was pushing it.

"You really think I can't find someone else to replace you?" Dexter said nonchalantly.

Y/n looked dead in dexters eyes and spoke. " Name one merc more qualified for a gig like this than me and i will walk out this bitch right now." Y/n challenged dex.

There was silence, V, jackie and T-bug could only look between the two man, wondering what was about to happen.

Dex took a hit from his cigar and calmly blew the smoke out.

Flashback end.

" dex agreed to 45 % thats a win in my book." Jackie said rubbing his hands together with a smile.

"Did you really have to press him?" V asked y/n.

Y/n nodded "If theres one thing I don't tolerate from fixers is not getting paid what the job is worth, and dex  knows not having me involved just the job when he had the chance would have been a very bad look for him." Y/n said with a smirk.

"That Fucker with the glasses sure didn't like the way you were talking." Jackie said referring to oleg , dexs bodyguard.

"eh, dex is gonna need more than a meathead to kill me." Y/n said simply.

"Well whats done is done, lets be on our way , be ready for the call when everything is in place" V said as they needed to wait a few days  before they could get to the tower.

The group split off after and y/n was back on his bike heading home, he then felt his phone vibrate, he had received a text, from meredith

Meredith.

Militech played out as I hoped, Thank you and remember - we don't know each other.

Y/n smirked, if it were anyone else he never would have gotten a text, corpos rarely go that far, so he decided to see if she would bite.

Y/n was soon walking through the first floor, many of the rooms already seemed occupied until finally he found one with a neon glow coming from under.

"Bet you didn't expect to see me here." Merdeith said with a light smile.

Y/n chuckled as he took off his coat and looked over to meredith, then looked over to see a dildo that was on the bed, something she was using to pass the time no doubt.

Y/n chuckled, that was certainly true, perhaps if circumstances were different they could have had something but they are part of two different worlds, it was just not in the cards for either of them, so a good lay was plenty satisfying.

A Few Days later.

"Heh well look on the bright side At least you get the keep the mask on." v said as he adjusted his sleeve.

"Heh don't feel right without it." Y/n chuckled he then took his collapsible sword out of his sleeve and a revolver from his waist.

"Whoa y/n remember no weapons." V reminded thinking y/n wished to try his look with arasakas metal detectors.

"Don't this is going in the glove compartment." Y/n said putting away the blade and revolver . " if shit gets dicey  it doesn't hurt to have something on hand when the getaway is happening, can't be too careful trust me." Y/n said leaning back comfortably in his seat,

V nodded,  he knew y/n was talking from experience. " fair enough but hopefully it won't come to that."

Y/n then looked at the monitor of the vehicle " isn't  this thing supposed to talk?"

"My systems inform me that we await one other passenger." Delamain shows up on the monitor and speaks.

"Yep - on his way, catchin' up." V responds 

"..... delamain is still bald ass fuck I see." Y/n jokes

" this is the natural appearance of  my AI" Delamain responds.

" I'm just saying it didn't have to be cue ball." Y/n says with a chuckle.

Y/n and v then see Jackie approach the vehicle , putting the flathead in the trunk  before entering the passenger seat.

"Welcome on board this Delamain service. With Delamain, you leave your problems at the door." delamain greets as part of his programming.

"Son of a bitch! Better fuckin' believe I will!" Jackie speaks excitedly.

"I see no reason why you should be using expletives." Delamain speaks simply.

"Shit , fuck, ass , bitch, we're potty mouths delamain, get used to it." Y/n says smiling under his mask.

"Very well" Delamain accepts 

V just shakes his head at the youngest of the trio's immaturity  and Jackie laughed. " hahaha! Hit it Del!" Jackie orders,

" Before we begin our journey, I must verify the identities of all customers. Please proceed to connect your personal links. Thank you. "Excelsior" package activated." Delamain says.

 "Excelsior"? Hohoho, this just keeps gettin' better!" Jackie said rubbing his hands with a small.

Delamain finally begins driving the trio to arasaka.

V: What's got you so antsy?

Jackie: Hang on, watch this... Delamain! Initiate combat mode!

Delamain: My apologies, but you do not appear to be in any sort of imminent danger.

"Booooo!" Y/n says , he wanted to see weapons.

"Oh well. Trust me, he'll mow down an army of 'Saka ninjas if it comes down to it." Jackie says.

"This combat mode even... legal?" V wonders curiously 

 "Of course it is. The Second Amendment says so. While on board, you are entirely within your rights to "bear" and use me." Delamain responds.

"Excelsior - what else is included?" Y/n asks.

"Comprehensive health coverage, including the handling and disposal of a client's remains should death occur on board." Delamain responds.

"Damn. Shit got dark pretty quick."  Jackie says the talk of death catching him a little of gaurd.

 "Dex ain't skimpin', is he." V says crossing his arms.

" And thanks to y/n, we're still gettin' a juicy 45 percent." Jackie says with a smile.

"Yeah I'm preety great aren't I?" Y/n says  playfully rubbing his knuckle on his chest.

"Shut up" v says rolling his eyes, y/n just chuckles.

 "Excelsior..." This is how you wanna cruise into the major leagues..." jackie says looking over the vehicle.

"Wouldn't get overly excited." V warns Jackie.

"Hm?" Jackie sounds raising his eyebrow.

"Haven't gotten there - not yet. Dunno, Jack... kinda feels like you're losin' that steel grip of yours." V says in concern.

"Huh, seems to me like it's you who's got some kinda problem..." jackie says not very pleased with Vs words?

"We're not on our way to some party, Jack. We're about to pull a major heist. At Arasaka."

" the must dangerous place in night city might I remind." Y/n says

Delamain: We are nearing our destination.

"For real guys...? See me as that shallow? Lemme explain somethin'...... My whole life I've spent in this shit around us! And I ain't goin' back!" Jackie says firmly.

V didn't press any further, not wishing to push Jackie to s point of anger 

Y/n just stared out his window, he honestly felt like saying more but it simply wasn't the time, he needed to keep his head on the heist.

"Hey. How's things?" T-bug came in on all of their halos.

"Smooth as fuckin' sandpaper." Jackie  says  simply.

"We'll be, uh, pullin' up to the hotel soon." V says to her.

"Listen, set up a direct, encrypted line to guide you through Konpeki. V, ring Jackie  and Y/n now, see if we're in sync. Can't be too careful. And?" T-bug spoke.

They waited for a moment  and the processed finished.

" Got static. Say somethin', Bug?" Jackie spoke.

""The greatest crimes issue from a desire for excess and not from necessity." T-bug recited.


" say what now?" Jackie said just as confused 

"Aristotle. Guess you read me, then?" T-but responded.

J"Yeah, I read you. Not so much your Greek friend, though it was kind of exciting." Jackie says sheepishly 

" Could give it some thought, try to understand? How 'bout you, V?" T-bug asks

" I want more Aristotle!" V says jokingly

"Y/n?" T-bug sales but her tone suggested she knew what he was gonna say

" was Aristotle in god of war?" Y/n asks jokingly.

" oh Fuck off, all of you". T-bug responds though the smile was clear on her voice.

The trio shared a chuckle.

"OK, tech checks out, looks like." T-bug says 

"Será mejor que sí... (Fuckin' better...)"  jackie responds.

"Stay in touch." T-bug responds and she soon came off line.

"Thank you for choosing the Delamain service. And best of luck. I shall await here for your return." Delamain says to them

"Shit's finally happenin'... Almost forgot, no iron, eh? All right, "Harry," let's go. Hold on, lemme grab the Flathead." Jackie says starting to use their false identities for the heist.

V nodded and looked to y/n. " stay sharp Julio."  V says.

" heh" y/n chuckles shaking his head, he then took a look at the large tower, he couldn't help but think about Jackie's words, some time ago he would have agreed whole heartedly but if only he knew that was just wishful thinking in night city, he'd gotten lucky the same couldn't be guaranteed for him or v or even himself again.

"Let's get this over with." Y/n thought  as he began walking to the entrance, he could only hope this was a mission wasn't a complete bust by the end.
