like?? umbras entirely acearo and has known matthew for years. matthew fulfils umbras primary relationship (ditto for umbra to matt), but it's not like in a romantic way?? its a little more passionate than brothers... like, soulmate-friends

this isnt a "'"just friends"""' thing it's "they are each other's primary source of love and want to spend the rest of their lives together because they are friends" thing. "friend" isnt a lower form of love

they've kissed in the story before but it's in the exact same places as umbra does to victor (forehead and cheeks) so uh,, if yah sexualize that,, so, its a family thing. familiar affection for two people that are family

as an aromantic myself, i easily get the whole "love your friend more than anything" concept but im not sure if anyone else does? im genuinely curious aha
