as they were getting seated for their flight, mackenzie told emaan about the mysterious fan that messaged her.

"you don't think they'll pull up pictures of you and logan will she? i mean, you do look the same, so who's to say that people aren't gonna fall for it?"

"emaan, chris trusts me. he knows i wouldn't cheat on him. he knows that i had a boyfriend back in high school, so if i just told him what the pictures are, he'll believe me."

"it's good that he trusts you, otherwise you'd be in deep shit. this account looks like it was made by someone from our high school because it follows so many people from school like you, me, abby, even logan."

"it was a pretty small school." mackenzie states. "i'll probably be able to find it if i narrowed down who watched the triplets obsessively like i did."

"you can take me out of the picture because i'm a matt girl." emaan says as she sits in her seat.

"i would never even consider it." mackenzie responds. "should i mention this to chris though?"

"that's up to you. if you feel like you have it under control and he doesn't need to know, don't tell him. but if you think he should have a heads up, go ahead."

"okay. thanks emaan."

"no problem, mack. can i sleep now?"

"go ahead."

the duo arrived in los angles on thanksgiving morning. mackenzie had the dms from the random fan in the back of her mind, but she didn't let that bother her. after she and emaan picked up their bags, they met declan and theo outside.

"happy thanksgiving guys!" theo smiled as he took their bags and went to put them in the trunk. the two had arrived in mackenzie's parents' suv. 

"happy thanksgiving theo!" mack responded, getting into the middle row of the car. "is everyone at madi's already?" declan nodded as he started the car and theo got into the passenger seat.

"yeah." he replied. "chris is so excited to see you." mackenzie smiles at the thought of seeing her boyfriend again.

"i'm glad. i've missed him so much."

"i've missed you too." a voice says from the back seat of the suv. mackenzie's eyes widen as her head whips around only to be met by her boyfriend's wide grin. 

"chris!" she gasps. "oh my god i can't believe you're here."

"i snuck into the backseat when declan and theo left. they realized i was here about five minutes before you guys came out."

"that's so crazy." emaan shook her head. "is matt here too?" she asks, with the hint of hope as she peeks into the backseat.

"nah, he's at home. he's planning on surprising you big though." chris says, immediately putting his hands to his mouth. mackenzie groans and rolls her eyes.

"chris you weren't supposed to say that." she sighs. "now emaans gonna be on edge and expecting something."

"chris i'm so glad you said that." emaan replies. "what's the surprise?"

"chris is no longer allowed to speak." declan speaks from the front. "we're not gonna risk him spilling anything else."

the group laughed and mackenzie momentarily forgot about the message she got earlier. she said was so caught up in the moment that it never occurred to her what would happen in the next few days.
