Chapter 1
Time flies, they say... Like the wind that blows mercilessly on winter days.
When was it that you first came into this apartment? Your memory was not able to recall correctly the exact date but sure it had been years.
Years which on them had brought many changes for you, one of them being that man standing on the couch right this instant, shuffling among papers that had filled your small glassy table.
He sure is an insignificant entity if you were to think that the world held billions however he was important to you because he had made you feel less alone in between that vast number of people that exist.
Is this how it feels to have someone special in your life? There were days you couldn't even imagine how it could be having someone to love you that way. Yet somehow you had reached this point and you had won his heart.
At first, this relationship seemed like an act you may see in a circus. Dangerous, risky, like an acrobat walking on rope meters above the ground. Unstable and fragile like a feather floating on the wind. Despite of being aware of all that, you had initiated it and honestly, you both had done your best for this relationship to last. And it sure had lasted through some important and heavy moments despite the considerably short time period that you were together.
Two weeks after the day you had officially become a couple with Jimin, his father -Mr. Park- had collapsed, an action that left to the surface his health condition which as expected brought much anxiety and sadness over Jimin and his brother TaeHyung.
The days that followed were difficult to manage emotionally as it hurt you being an observer. There was nothing you could do, after all, there was nothing anyone could do, and maybe on that point, you related to Jimin, as for sure, for him must have been way more painful to stand by and watch as his father's life came to an end.
On the day of his funeral, he sure had shed tears but what had made you worry was the silence that he fell in after. The isolation that he tried to throw himself into and which thankfully you managed to pull him out off.
It's been six months from those dark and difficult days of the loss and with time Jimin too started looking calmer and happier. He claims that you are the reason why but you can't fully accept that. You can not heal wounds after all. But time sure can...Or so you would like it to be.
"For how long are you going to stay there staring at me?" Jimin's voice disturbed your thought process and made you blink once and twice before a smile reached on your lips and your eyes soon averted away from him.

"I just spaced out" You replied as you approached towards the couch, taking your seat at the opposite side of him where you had left some notes.
"Worrying about finding a roommate again?" Jimin lifted his gaze from the papers and looked at you as he spoke.
"How can I not be when you keep rejecting every candidate that comes by." You replied as it's been a week now that you have been looking for a roommate because Jungkook moved out to stay with his girlfriend, Areum.
A week in which surprisingly you had had many calls of people that were interested in the announcement you had shared online and on the local newspaper along with some fliers which you had given around along with Sira, that had insisted to help you and not leave you alone on it.
However, despite the participation that was surprising, Jimin had turned down every single person that had come over to look at the house and possibly make up their mind to start living there.
"Look, I can't let you live with strangers. You can never be sure of what they can be. You might have gotten lucky with Jungkook but you should be more careful on such things Y/N"Jimin replied as he left his papers aside, looking as if once again he was ready to argue with you about it in full out seriousness and win the argument on top of it.
"And doing background checks on people sounds more logical to you?" You retorted, giving him a facial expression that indicated that you found his actions absurd.
"You should be thankful that I am in a position to do that, to begin with. Did you forget about that guy that came the day prior? If I hadn't checked, you could have been roommates with an ex-postman"
"Oh what a criminal. You totally saved me" You replied sarcastically and even though Jimin was trying to be serious, he couldn't help but crack a smile.
"Ah seriously. What do you want me to say?" He pouted slightly as he spoke and left his body fall behind on the couch.
"Fine, I admit. I just don't understand why you don't want to live with me. It would be so much more convenient as you wouldn't need to pay rent or anything. Just why don't you want to be more with me Y/N?" He spoke as he had left his head lean back and his gaze was now directed towards the ceiling, his eyebrows furrowing in distress as he really had been struggling to accept your rejection on the matter when he had offered you to live with him after Jungkook left the apartment you and him shared.
"It's not that I don't want to be more with you Jimin. I just don't feel ready yet. Please don't look too much into this and overthink stuff, okay?" You stood up and spoke as you approached him and he glanced at you before reaching out his hand to take hold of yours.
"I know...but I get insecure sometimes...What if you get bored of me? What if you stop loving me?"
"Do I look like a robot? I don't have a switch button to turn on and off my feelings. I just need a bit more time before making that important step, that's all. My feelings aren't changing." You reassured him with your words and your gestures as you leaned closer to him and softly pecked his lips. An action which he didn't hesitate to take further as he pulled you closer, making you fall on his lap and then proceeded to initiate another kiss more deep and passionate, as his hands wrapped themselves around your body.
"Mm no. Jimin this is not the time. I have to get ready, I have an interview in one hour." You reminded him while smiling and he left a sigh escape his lips in disappointment that he couldn't have you for longer in his arms.
"Good luck with it, even though I know you will ace it." He encouraged you before letting you go and you thanked him lightly as you stood up from his lap, your hands instinctively reaching to your lips. You had kissed him many times by now, yet you couldn't help but have that tingling feeling of excitement each time as if it was the first.
"Wait! Didn't you have an appointment with a potential roommate today as well?" Jimin questioned and your face showcased your surprise as it had completely slipped your mind.
"Oh my, you are right. He is supposed to be here in thirty minutes or so." You exclaimed while you started to feel a bit anxious, not knowing how to figure this out.
"He? It's a he? Again?" Jimin replied with widening eyes and you just shrugged your shoulders while giving him an awkward smile, making him just leave an exhale escape from his lips.
"I will take care of it. You can go to your interview."
"Don't reject him without a good reason though" You pointed your finger at him as you replied and he stood up, pretending to be offended.
"Yah, for what do you take me? I understood, okay? You won't come live with me whatever I may do so I might at least find you a good roommate. Leave it to me." He stated and you couldn't help but smile at how sincerely he placed his words, letting you know that he still wanted you to live with him but since he had no other choice, he had to compromise. And you sure appreciated that compromise of his, as you gave him a quick hug and a kiss on the cheek then disappeared from the living room in a hurry.
"If that guy is too handsome, he would be practically asking for the rejection though." He mumbled under his breath as a smile reached to his lips then he sat back down and let his attention to return on the paperwork he was looking after.
---Change of set---
"Hey! Where are you taking that?" Sira asked TaeHyung who halted on his feet as if he was caught red-handed and truth was that he was as he didn't want Sira to see him doing the thing he was trying to do right that instant.
"Why did you return so quickly from the supermarket? You didn't even take two minutes." He replied to her as he turned to face her, his hand hiding behind his back.
"Obviously I didn't have the chance to leave yet. I left wearing my slippers and you didn't even think of reminding me." She replied giggling a bit at herself and the foolish action she had done. An action that had caused her feet to get frozen as soon as she had taken some steps outside of the building in which she had moved with her boyfriend, a month or so ago.
"Oops, sorry." Was all Taehyung said back as he started taking some steps away, in an attempt to flee to the bedroom.
"Stop right there Mr. And tell me what were you going to do with my teddy bear?" Sira however had no intention of letting him escape as she walked towards him quickly and after a small engagement where Taehyung kept trying to hide it and she to get it from him, Taehyung ended up throwing the teddy bear on the couch which made her left an exclaim of shock and once she tried to get to it, Taehyung wrapped his arms around her and pulled her up, making her unable to get to her teddy bear.
Taehyung couldn't help but laugh at the cute sounds she was making even though she was practically yelling at him to let her go yet he only held her closer to his warm chest till she calmed down.
"You were going to throw it away and then pretend that it got lost somewhere, didn't you?" Sira turned around while still between his arms and faced him.
"You cuddle it way too much, okay? Even when I am right there." He replied and she couldn't help but laugh a bit as she shook her head.
"You could have just told me to not keep it in bed while we sleep together instead of trying to hide it so I could never find it again." She hit his chest lightly as she spoke and Taehyung smiled at her.
"That wasn't my plan. I just wanted you to ask me for help to find it then I would have found it and you would love me for finding it and who knows, maybe after that, you could realize I am more reliable and trustworthy and we could possibly get one step closer to unlocking a new level of our relationship" Taehyung explained, but even though he seemed to be serious of his words, Sira couldn't help but find them silly and laugh.
"You and your imagination, seriously. Our relationship is not a video game Taehyung. Stop trying to come up with strategies to 'unlock' levels. Everything will happen when its meant to happen."She spoke to him softly as she gazed in his eyes, thing that made Taehyung lean towards her for a kiss but she freed herself from his hands instead and stepped away, letting him there ready to kiss the air.
"You so mean" He uttered before composing himself again and the following her to the couch where she had taken a seat after she had grabbed her precious teddy bear.
"Do you think that the reason Y/N doesn't want to live with my brother is that she may be afraid of unlocking levels?" Taehyung questioned out of the blue as he sat beside his girlfriend, taking this opportunity to find more about the case that his brother had been pestering about lately.
He could swear that he could hear his complaints ringing in his ears, like ghost whispers. Going on an on about how lucky he was that his girlfriend had moved in with him while Y/n keeps rejecting him.
"Well, I am not sure. From what she has told me, it's just that living with someone is a big step and she just doesn't feel ready to do that yet. Because it's risky and she is insecure about many things yet. I find it logical if you ask me." Sira replied sincerely as she herself had many questions about the timing and if her decision to move in with Taehyung was the right thing. However, in her case the thing that reassured her that no matter how frightening and new this was, it was gonna be okay, was You yourself. Now, why you couldn't apply your own advice and reassurance to your own self was something she didn't know fully even though she herself had sure tried to help you sort out your thoughts and reassure you as much as you had done for her.
"Don't you think that Y/N is too close sometimes? Like, I am not sure if it happens only with me because It has not been too long since we are friends but whenever I feel like something may be going on with her, be it stress or anything, she never stays to talk about her feelings. She always says she is okay." Taehyung uttered some worries he had been keeping to himself as every time that happened left him with a bitter taste as if you had placed a barrier in front of his face.
"Don't take it personally. Y/n needs time to fully trust people and truly open up. She is helpful and empathetic by nature but to truly know her will take time. I have been friends with her for almost six years now and I myself can't fully say I know everything about her" Sira claimed as she in her head traveled back on the day she first met you.
"After the day we met and onwards I believe we have shared our emotions, but Y/N was closed off even back then. She was shy yet she was so powerful as a supporter. I don't know how to explain it but she is my hero."Sira concluded, a bright smile reaching on her lips as she felt happy once again that she had happened to come across someone like you.
"Here we go again. Making me feel jealous over a girl." Taehyung stated half-jokingly and Sira just lightly hit him with her teddy bear on his chest before standing up to leave again for the supermarket as she was supposed to but once again e had proved to be a distraction.
---Time skip---
Jimin was arranging his papers on their respective folders as you had left already and he thought that it would be better if he had everything in a good placement before the potential roommate arrives.
He placed them neatly the one above the other once he finished and then grabbed the notebook you had left to him which had the little information that guy had left you over the phone.
"Kang Daniel, 1996...1,80cm" Jimin read to himself skipping the phone number that followed below.
Why did he mention his height? Why does Y/n need to know that? This is not a modeling agency Mr.
Jimin thought to himself before he proceeded to let the notebook on the table with a thud that showcased a slight irritation that had taken over him which he covered quickly as he cleared his throat and looked around as if he wasn't alone in the room.
The doorbell echoed soon after, causing his attention to derive towards the door, and without much hesitation, he walked towards it with his usual confident aura. He opened the door casually and was met with a young guy who looked surprised as soon as he lifted his face and took a glance at him.
His face grew pale as the two stood silent till Jimin moved to the side and gestured for him to enter. The young man visibly hesitated and proceeded to bow at him two times as he greeted him then took some steps inside, while Jimin stood there so he could close the door behind him and so he did.
"I-I, is this miss Y/n's apartment, or did I came to the wrong address?" Daniel gathered his courage to ask as he placed his hands together in front of himself, I an attempt to cover up his nervousness as luck had brought him face to face with his current professor which had a strict reputation that he had gotten to know from first-hand experience that it wasn't just rumors.
"No, this is the right place. Have a seat." Jimin gestured at the chair which was placed at the opposite side of the table as he maintained a cold demeanor, considering that after he saw him, he immediately remembered that he was one of the students he had this year in his auditorium and one who had scored badly at the last mini test he had surprised them with at that.
He watched him walking up to the chair rather uncomfortably then proceeded to take his seat, his hands going to his knees immediately after, making him look as if he was feeling like he was placed in a tight spot but honestly Jimin could understand his behavior. There was no student that ever was confident or was too reassured and calm in his presence. Not because he was threatening as a person but he sure was a threat to their grades.
"Miss Y/n was supposed to have this meeting with you but something unexpected occurred and left me in her stead. I would like to present to you the rules of this house as well as the amount of money you will be paying per month along with other additional payments. " Jimin entered on the main subject without losing time on any unnecessary small talk and grabbed the paper he had left above the pile of his folders and placed it on the table before him.
"Food expenses will be personal and not sharable. After you give a look at the information before you, I will escort you to see the room that could possibly become yours, as well as generally show you around the house. If you have any questions, you may ask."He continued as Daniel instead of taking the paper was just staring at him till he stopped talking.
Daniel reluctantly took hold of the paper and skimmed through the written information despite the fact that he was now already positive on living there cause he may not know what relation his professor had with his future roommate but whatever it may be, to cover her up at something this important practically meant that he was doing her a favor and if he was doing her a favor that meant they were on good terms which also meant that if he was to go well with you he may have a better chance at passing Jimin's subject.
"They all sound reasonable." He admitted, leaving his lips to smile slightly as he proceeded to let the paper on the table, but as he did so, Jimin's phone which he had left on the table from prior, light up, indicating that he had a notification. As that happened, Daniel couldn't help but look towards it, only to come to an immediate freeze once he saw the face of a woman being displayed as his lock screen.
His hand reached to it out of shock and pulled the phone closer in order for him to take a cleared view and his eyes only widened more as he did so while Jimin just looked at him with a threatening gaze, before he proceeded to get his phone away from Daniel's hands.
"Haven't you learn to not touch other's personal belongings?" Jimin spoke to him with a tone on his voice that could be considered almost as threatening as his gaze was at that instant.
"Oh, I am so sorry. I was just...can you..perhaps...let me know of the name of that girl, please.?" His question got Jimin perplexed as well as suspicious over why was he interested in knowing your name yet he decided to reply even though in his head he had already concluded that there was no way this guy will become your new roommate. Not with this kind of behavior that is.
"This is the one you will be rooming with. Miss Y/N with whom you have talked on the phone and scheduled this appointment." His reply had Daniel standing up from his seat in a rather quick way that displayed clear panic that couldn't go noticed by Jimin.
"I, umm came here just to live up to my word. A friend found me a house just yesterday, you see so I am no longer looking for anything. Thank you for having me." He uttered then proceeded to give him a bow before he practically ran out of the apartment, leaving a questionable Jimin behind.
His phone buzzed again while he had it now in his hand, getting his attention from the direction of the exit where he was looking towards in surprise of the behavior of that guy and as he left his eyes fall on his screen he focused on your face instead of the notification that had come.
A face that had literally made that guy panic enough to run out of there in no time. Why? What was there to panic?
Does he know her from somewhere?
