Quality Time with Dad

Notes
- universe where Notch and Herobrine are a couple
- universe where Ash resurrects the S1 Creators

Sorry for not posting recently, school has been keeping me busy (having fun though!) but hopefully I can get to posting more frequently soon! Here's a oneshot to make up for my lack in posts.

WARNING!!! THERE WILL BE SWEARING! (Curtesy of Herobrine sorry)

Otherwise, enjoy this rollercoaster! :D

"Have you decided?"

"Decided what?"

"Whether or not you are moving into the Aether."

Herobrine was quiet. "I think I am," he said softly, a small smile on his face.

Notch cheered quietly. He grinned cheekily. "Now that it is official, what are you planning to do with your old room?"

"I'm afraid I don't follow, can you elaborate?"

"If we room together, what happens to your old bedroom?"

"Oh fuck you."

Notch laughed as Herobrine playfully shoved him away. The sun's rays weakly lit the kitchen in its morning glory, reflecting off of the snowy white quartz walls. Notch pulled Herobrine close, embracing his lover who, in turn, snuggled into the Aether god's fawn cloak.

Herobrine sighed happily. "I still can't believe we're home," he murmured, playing with the frayed fabric.

Notch hummed in agreement. "We were fortunate enough for Ashton to resurrect the three of us, much less allow us to return to our universe," he said softly. "Did he tell you his plans to bring back all the original Creators?"

"He did. The kit has the biggest heart I've seen in the last few centuries we were alive."

"That's where you are wrong, evol."

Herobrine looked up quizzically.

Notch smiled. "You have the biggest heart."

Herobrine reddened, glancing away. "You're just saying that," he muttered.

Notch shook his head and tilted Herobrine's face to meet his own. Their eyes met, umber* gazing into silver. "I have seen how you treat your family with kindness. You take the time to get to know everyone, no matter their importance. You ensure that every Council member knows how to defend themselves through your training routine which by itself shows your selflessness to share your combat instincts. You have proven time and time again that you would sacrifice yourself to defend us in times of need."

Herobrine was blushing a deep red by the time Notch finished speaking. He stuttered, attempting to think of a comeback.

Jeb walked in the kitchen, twiddling with his olive wreath. Herobrine quickly backed off and turned away from the intruder. Jeb glanced up from his fiddling and broke into a smile.

"Good morning Notch, Hero," he said brightly, placing the olive wreath back on his head. He walked to the pantry and pulled out a basket of apples.

Herobrine blinked, now staring at Jeb. "Did... did you just call me Hero?" he stammered. He turned his gaze to Notch, who was chuckling. "Have I gone deaf? I could have sworn I heard Jeb call me Hero. Stop laughing. I'm serious! He's never called me that, it's always been Brine."

Jeb softly laughed. "You heard me just fine, Hero. There's no need to worry." Jeb strolled out of the kitchen, calling over his shoulder, "Breakfast starts in a few minutes."

Herobrine stared wide-eyed at the rapidly departing Jeb. "He's gone crazy."

Notch stifled his laughter and pulled Herobrine into a hug, Herobrine's back against his chest. "I am sure he is perfectly sane, perhaps he came to his senses while we were gone," he murmured, resting his chin on his lover's head.

Herobrine scoffed. "While we were gone, ha! More like dead," he muttered. He perked up. "Wait, breakfast! Come on!" He pulled a snickering Notch out of the kitchen, running down the corridor and entering the dining hall.

Half of the immortals were already seated at the round table, Jeb included. The basket of shiny red apples sat next to a plate of eggs.

Herobrine sat himself next to Sky, smiling softly at his son. Notch took the seat between Steve and Herobrine. Quiet chatter filled the air as the remaining immortals slowly filed in and took their traditional seats. Notch was the first to fill his plate and bite into his breakfast, the others quick to follow suit. Laughter soon rose as the immortals began exchanging stories from their recent adventures.

"And the professor just looked at me like I was a fucking celebrity!" Herobrine exclaimed. "Of course I teleported before he could start spewing questions but am I really that well known among historians?"

William snickered at Herobrine's distraught expression. "You can blame the demons for that. I caught one of them smuggling one of those book about early Minecraftia out of the Nether library a few days ago. He's been properly punished but I suppose there are more books that are missing."

Herobrine growled at the thought of the demons touching his precious books without his permission.

Oceanus swallowed his toast before speaking up. "Speaking of fame," he paused as the spotlight was suddenly turned to him, "are the rumors true, Notch?"

Notch tilted his head. "What rumors are you speaking of?"

"Why, the rumors that claim you and my friend Hero have been together for millennia."

Herobrine dropped his fork, his wide eyes flickering between silver and white. Notch cast a warning glance to Hero before returning his attention to the sea god. "Where did this rumor originate?"

"I believe it was Ladies Clotho and Atropos." Erik casually scooped up an orange and began to peel the fruit as though he had not just blamed the Moirai for spreading news of the forbidden relationship of the two most powerful Minecraftians.

The immortals jumped as thunder rumbled in the Aether, shaking the castle and its inhabitants. Paintings and tapestries were nearly flung from their positions on the pristine walls. Goblets shivered, spilling their contents on the table and immortals. The immortals jumped from their seats, some cursing as they swept the liquid from their laps. Others looked up to see who was the cause for the disruption. It became clear rather quickly who was to blame.

Herobrine was missing.

.::.

Herobrine held fast to the railing, the Netherbrick cracking under his grip. He shook his head, refusing to let the heavy tears fall. He was blind to the glaring lava bubbling beneath the balcony and deaf to the sound of the nearby tortured souls. The hood of his cloak hid his face from any creature that dared look up.

"Father!"

Herobrine stiffened. Why did he come looking for him?

"Father, where are you?" The door softly opened. Sky gave a relieved sigh when he spotted his father facing the scenery of the Nether from his bedroom balcony. Sky cautiously approached as he took note of his father's tense figure. "Are you alright?"

Herobrine deflated and shook his head rapidly, shoulders now shaking. Sky sprinted across the bedroom and hugged his father, who in turn released his grip on the railing and squeezed his son tightly. Tears fell thick and fast as Herobrine collapsed to the ground, taking Sky with him. Herobrine allowed Sky to sit in his lap as though Sky were a child once again.

Sky embraced his father and waited for Herobrine to regain his composure despite his shock from seeing his father cry. Slowly, Herobrine's sobs drifted away. Sniffles came from the elder Brine every now and then.

"Father?"

"Yes?" Herobrine's voice cracked from the lone word.

"Why did you run? We've known that the two of you had been together for a while now. Lady Atropos was the first to bring it up, just days after your death. Lady Clotho confirmed the news shortly afterward but-"

A long whine had Sky trailing off. He leaned back to see his father watching him with soft sad eyes.

Herobrine looked away. "Do you remember losing your lover?"

Sky cringed inwardly from his father's hoarse voice. "Yeah, it hurt more than anything I had ever felt before."

"I lost Taylor in the same millennia Notch asked me to be his lover. I knew that the pain I felt from losing her would be nothing compared to losing Notch. I couldn't risk anyone taking advantage of knowing that we were together and threatening him to get me to do what they wanted. I nearly lost him when the Sins and Virtues took control of our bodies. That fear, that damn fear controlled my actions for a long time. It still does. I can't count how many humans I've killed just from them theorizing that Notch and I were together."

"You were afraid."

"I'm terrified. I'm terrified that someone will hurt Notch. I don't know how many Creators will refuse to ally with Minecraftia with the knowledge that Notch chose someone other than an Aetherian to be his lover. The humans may reject Notch as their god and turn on all of us. There are so many scenarios that can easily turn on us if everyone knows that in his lover." Herobrine took a deep breath to calm himself. "Do you remember what I said about how a Brine's biggest motivator is fear?"

"Of course. Brines lived in fear of rejection from humanity and in fear of persecution from Aetherians and hunters alike."

Herobrine gulped. "The fear of losing Notch has been my motivation since the moment I realized I loved him. There has never been a second where I've been without a sample of his blood so I could track him down if he went missing. Losing Notch wouldn't be just Minecraftia's downfall, it would be my downfall as well."

Is this canon? Nah. Notch and Hero would know in advance that everyone knows of their relationship.

Happy April 1st! :D

Oh my god this has been sitting in this book for MONTHS waiting for me to finish writing.
