You know how in the 'A Second Chance' one-shot Herobrine cries as he passes a black lotus flower? Well, there's a reason for that. It's his.

Every Council member can create a lotus flower with a color scheme unique to that immortal. Notch's is white, gold, and brown. Steve's is blue, white, and purple. These flowers stay fresh until the person the immortal gave the flower dies.

Herobrine's was mostly white, with some black and red highlights.

White symbolizes Creator magic, red symbolizes his hellish status, and black is for the death he creates.

The second Taylor died, every lotus flower Herobrine had created turned pitch black. This represented the grief he felt for losing Taylor.

Herobrine's lotus flower never returns to its original look. When he recovers enough, the flower he creates is now mostly black with some red and white highlights.

This is why every time I read that line where Herobrine passes the flower, I start to tear up. And I torture my characters on a daily basis for fun! Yeesh...
