Ash has a locket that Cloud gave to him on their fifteenth birthday. On one side, it's an old picture of his mother before she died. On the other is Cloud and Ash standing next to each other. He gives the locket to Kayla to give to Cloud (who was busy in the Capital at the time) before he went to the Capital himself. Few days later, he gets captured by the Kivuli and his crystal necklace is smashed during the fight. The crystal necklace is repaired and handed back after his rescue, along with the locket. The locket kept him sane when he was 17-22 years old.

Many of the relationships among Creators in S1 stayed the same in S2 since the Moirai made nearly no difference between the two generations.
