If you have to blame anyone for what happens at the end of S1, you have three options

1) Selene - she predicted everything and kept it all from the others

2) James and William - they rebelled and indirectly killed the Minecraftian Creators (literally only just realized that)

3) Notch, Herobrine, and Steve - if they had just been honest, they probably wouldn't have had what happened to them

The other gods, Demigod, and mortals cannot be blamed. They didn't know anything and only followed the commands they were given.
