Angels and Demons

Warning: gets kinda specific about blood and other hellish things

I've never said how Minecraftian angels or demons were made, have I?

Well, it lies mostly between Notch's and Herobrine's rivalry between each other (you know how family works, right? Always competing with each other).

Angels are created by Notch, demons are created by Herobrine.

All angels are children that died under the age of 18. Herobrine approaches them and asks them if they wish to have a second chance at life since they died at such a young age, but warns them that will have no recollection of their mortal life. If they say yes, then Herobrine needs to have some sort of physical contact (usually by holding their hand to comfort them) while Notch transforms the spirit into the angel. This all happens in a closed room in the Aether castle. If the spirit says no, then Herobrine decides if they are worthy to stay in the Aether or if they will be damned to hell.

Why does Herobrine need to touch the spirit? Notch can't see spirits unless they are in the Nether (it's just how that dimension works). Herobrine's power over death allows him to make spirits visible to anyone that normally cannot see spirits, but only if he is touching them in some way.

Demons are a more special case. Sometimes, a mortal will strike a deal with a demon OR Herobrine himself. After ten years, hellhounds come after the mortal to drag their soul to the Nether (Copyright of Supernatural, not me). If the mortal is under the age of 18 after the ten years are up, the soul is still taken to the Nether. There is no chance that Notch will step into bring the underage spirit to the Aether because this would violate an agreement between Notch and Herobrine.

Any soul in the Nether has three chances. If they try to escape three times, then they will be brought to either Devin (Taylor originally), Aaron, or Herobrine. The demon or devil will start the long torture process. A spirit that will become lower level demon will be asked daily if they will pledge their loyalty to Herobrine. A spirit meant to be a higher level demon will be asked weekly, monthly, yearly or not at all. The higher the level, the longer the torture process. (Devin and Aaron were not asked at all, and Herobrine had to come check and see if their claims to be loyal were legitimate. If they weren't, torture would resume.)

When a spirit is ready to be transformed to a demon, they are brought to a large room full of demons. A demon will carve a symbol into the spirit's shoulder and use the blood of either Devin (or Taylor), Aaron, or Herobrine to bind the spirit to the owner of the blood (this is one example of blood magic). The demon or Devil that the spirit is now bound to will strike one last deal, to be loyal to Herobrine in exchange for another chance at 'life'. The deal is sealed with a kiss.

Herobrine's blood was used for the first few decades. After that, William's and Taylor's blood was used, then Aaron's, and finally Devin's. Herobrine's blood is only used now to turn the highest level demons.

After William's betrayal, all demons bound to William were put to death. This cut the demon population in half. Herobrine's symbol is different from William's, this is how you tell the difference.

If a demon rebels against Herobrine, they are put to death in return for breaking the deal. A demon has no soul, and has no way of returning after death.

Angels also have no soul, so they also have no way of returning after death. Although, they Fall if they break one of Notch's biggest rules.

If a demon makes a deal with the mortal, the mortal has ten years until they are brought to hell. Until that time, they are actually under Herobrine's protection. Herobrine will not collect their soul until ten years have passed.

After the war with the Sins and Virtues, Notch's first angel was created. And many others shortly afterward as Herobrine ferried their souls to the Aether.

Taylor was the first demon. (Year 22)

Taylor pointed out Aaron and Herobrine struck a deal with him. Aaron's soul was ferried at the age of 24. He became a demon in the year 40. One of the most popular Minecraftian folk songs is actually about Aaron, how he struck a deal with Herobrine, became a king, died in an enemy's attack, and went to the Nether. None of the gods have any idea who wrote the song. (It was a mortal but who knows how the mortal found out)
