Tag Twin #2

Prologue: This is quite possibly the coolest tag I've gotten so far. autumn_sunfire tagged me to do this one, which was written by @Silmarilz1701, but Wattpad isn't going to let that tag work. If you would let her know about this one, Ver, that would be awesome. 😁

This one is specifically for authors. It looks like so much fun!

1. Favorite color:
It's bluuue!
2. Favorite word for a shade of that color:
Most certainly cobalt. I love the image that puts in my head, which is of a dark, shimmering blue with just the slightest hint of green.

3. Favorite sound:
JAMES PAGET'S MUSIC
4. Describe that favorite sound by using it in a sentence:
The music was strong and carrying, like a river flowing through the rock that it cut its way through; the strings seemed almost alive as they soared through the air like a songbird.
I didn't use the words "James Paget's music" in that sentence, but I think this is basically what you were asking for, right Silz?

5. Favorite character from your favorite fandom:
Currently? Steve Rogers AKA Captain America from the Avengers.

6. Favorite character from an obscure fandom:
This isn't really a fandom in the way that most people think of it, but I always seem to hear stories in Epic Score's music. The stories actually end up being really detailed, and it's the coolest thing ever. So, Viktoria Dimitrijevic from Epic Action and Adventure.

7. Favorite descriptor for beauty:
Hue. Like a tint, or pale coloration.
8. Describe someone/something using that descriptor:
From Rubicon: "The few wispy clouds in front of [Orion] were colored with the peachy hue of a sunset's beginnings, and a few heads of wheat in the fields stretched up and silhouetted themselves against the neighboring planet that glowed alongside the rising moon."

9. Favorite death scene you've read:
Umm... I don't know... maybe Bluestar from the Warriors book A Dangerous Path?

10. Favorite death scene you've written (if applicable):

AAAAAAGH I HAVEN'T WRITTEN IT YET AND I DON'T DO SPOILERSSSSS

11. Favorite familial/platonic relationships you've read/watched:
Oof... these are so hard to choose. I think Thor and Loki are definitely way up there, and also Gwen and Arthur from ThatOneWriter2001 's book The General's Fall. That is my favorite sibling depiction ever. A third I think would be Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson, because they're just such awesome bros. 😁

12. Favorite romantic relationships you've read/watched:
Blagh. Romance?

Blagh.
But really though, I think it would have to be Faramir and Eowyn. They're so adorable together 😊

13. Favorite familial/platonic relationships you've written (if applicable):
Oooooh, definitely James and Nathan. They've been best friends pretty much their whole life, and they're kind of on the same wavelength, too. They understand each other when anyone else wouldn't have the faintest idea what they're talking about. They're so much fun to write about. Also, Jennifer, Grace, and Kassidy in my other book Making History have a really cool platonic relationship. They're all really different from one another, but at the same time they all relate really well. And I did accidentally give two of my characters the name Grace, and they do look fairly similar, but I promise they're not the same person, even in a Fourth Wall sort of way. Sorry about that, YG. (The other Grace is in the Foundationals series.)

14. Favorite romantic relationships you've written (if applicable):
James and Laureline are really the only romantic relationship I've written, but even if they weren't I still think they'd be my favorite. They're so perfect for each other, and I CAN'T HELP THINKING OF TWO LITTLE THIRD GRADERS THAT MET ON ACCIDENT AND ENDED UP LIKING EACH OTHER EVEN THOUGH THAT'S NOT CANON

15. Favorite time of day to describe and write about OR experience:
I love writing about the time when the sun is almost completely set and everything is a *note word use* cobalt blue with just the slightest bit of purple, it's so beautiful.
16. Describe and write about said time of day:
Again from Rubicon: "The sky above Vulcan was a shimmering crystal blue at its highest point, fading to cobalt with a gentle sapphire hue near the horizon."

17. Describe a scene with these three photos you have been given, or write a 5+ sentence flash fic about the three. The next person must do three of your choice.
Yay! This is the part that I've been looking forward to the most. Mine will probably be a bit long as well...

Here it issssssss

The ankles of Zima's pants were hard and unmoving, stiffened by the snow that had melted upon contact with them and then frozen again thanks to the biting wind. She trudged through the deep snow of her home country, her cool Chinese attire far from protecting her from the harsh elements of Rus'. To say she was cold would be an understatement.

The man—no, he couldn't be called that. The animal that she had been sent to watch—How had he done this? Zima was powerful. More powerful than most. This man who had only recently made himself well known could not possibly have abilities so strong as to set an entire city afire, especially as young as he was. He had to be special. Very special—even for a Foundational.

Zima knew that Molecular Supernaturals were not so powerful as Foundational Supernaturals, but she knew the abilities that most Foundationals had. His... his were phenomenal. He had so much control—yet he didn't use it to concentrate his attack. He used it to decimate everything.

Zima shook her head. No time for these thoughts. She needed to get to the village—her village, with its three hundred Moleculars. She hadn't planned on returning in her warm-weather clothing, but she could handle it. She was used to the snow.

As she began to trudge toward the east, in the direction of her village, she heard the rushing noise of beaten air behind her. A tremendous roar split the skies. Whipping around, Zima saw the massive red dragon land with a blizzard of flying snow. A vision of the flaming narrow streets and oriental buildings of Beijing flashed before her eyes.

"I destroy an entire city," the man said as he transformed back into his true form, "And the great Dubvladele does what? She runs!"

Incindeus spat Zima's Molecular name at her as if it were poison in his mouth. She felt her eyes harden as he she stared at the monster in front of her. She remembered the true events.

Krigavem was thrown from his perch in the skies, crashing down next to Dubvladele with a cry. The windy ledge he had created dissipated, and Incendeus roared in triumph even as the rest of the Elementals, along with all the Foundationals and Moleculars that had come, attacked him from every side. Most dragons couldn't stop them; Incendeus, however, could come fairly close.

Krigavem rolled over onto his stomach with a groan, holding his hand out with his fingers spread. The air seemed to part testily in front of his hand, swirling around a hole that that gave Dubvladele a view of nothing but endless snow and hardened trees. "I'm sorry I couldn't make it closer," he grunted, even as the portal began to close; he was weak from the blow he had just received.

Struggling to keep the portal open, he spoke again. "Go," he gasped. "Get the others from your village. Quickly!" He urged when Dubvladele just looked at him with worry. "Call out when they are with you, and I will bring you back here. Go!" Dubvladele let her hand rest briefly on Krigavem's shoulder, then leapt through the portal.

She heard a roar of outrage behind her as the portal closed.

" You followed me because you don't want to have to fight any more of us," Zima stated calmly, looking into Incindeus's brown eyes that were tinged with red. He feigned thoughtfulness for a moment before responding. "Perhaps," he said carelessly, "But do you really think I would have time to break off my attack to end you and a group of weaklings? Beijing is destroyed. This is simply for my enjoyment."

Zima smirked. "It has been said that you are the king of lies," she said. "Or perhaps you truly are in ignorance. Beijing remains. Here is your proof." She pointed to the sky just as a strong but comforting wind began to blow. Incendeus seethed so apoplectically that the snow melted beneath his feet.  "Krigavem," He hissed, glaring with blazing eyes at the sky above him. During his moment of distraction, Zima threw her hand out to the side.

Snow and earth lifted from their places, disappearing in the air and then reappearing as atoms and molecules rearranged to create different ones. Splinters replaced snowflakes and wooden spears replaced earthen chunks. Lifting both hands into the air, Dubvladele gave a sharp yell and threw her hands forward. Eyes widening, Incendeus quickly crossed his arms in front of him before turning his shoulder to her and raising his forearm. The wooden weapons that Dubvladele had thrown smashed into his red energy shield, but he was thrown back several steps from the force as his shield disintegrated. Five wooden spears flew toward his neck, but he swept his arm in front of them, a red blast knocking them away. His eyes literally ablaze with anger, he began to morph and grow into his stronger form even as Dubvladele watched. "Kri!" She yelled, lifting her eyes as she spoke. "Here is your challenge back. I have an army to retrieve!"

Behind the towering form of Incendeus the dragon, a much larger and more stable portal than before appeared as Dubvladele raised a solid oaken wall in front of Incendeus. Shoving her hands forward with as much force as she could, the wall shot through the air and slammed into Incendeus. He crashed back through the portal with a roar, meeting a fierce onslaught of enemies. Dubvladele saw endless amounts of smoke rising towards the bright Chinese sky, but no fire anywhere. As the portal closed again and she turned to face the east and her village, she silently congratulated a certain group of Elementals on their skills in firefighting. She did happen to notice several puddles past Incendeus' collapsing figure.

That ended up being a lot longer than I had anticipated...

Anyway, that's the Break of Dawn universe, as you might have surmised, but set in the early/mid 1400s Russia and China instead of modern-day Atlanta. And this is canon! \^.^/ Hope you found it interesting, and my apologies for the yet-to-be-fully-developed lore. I'm still not sure how all the Foundationals/Elementals/Moleculars work. It's confusing. 🤔

Well, thank you again, Verity, for this awesome tag! I sure enjoyed it!
-Kat

Oh! Anyone who wants to do this can, but I'm not actually going to tag anyone, I don't think. And y'all need new pictures, too!

And for the random third, I thought I'd switch it up a bit ( if that's ok?) and give you guys a song to work with.

[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]

Can't wait to see what you guys write! 😁
