Chapter 9: Aftermath

It was quite a sight to behold; pure chaos at its finest. Villains scattered like discarded litter, those still conscious handcuffed in a small group toward the middle. Teens in hero costumes fiercely guarded them. But one of them stood out: a young man clad in black combat gear with metallic plates decorating it, completed by a helmet obscuring his face. At first glance one might see them as but a fellow hero-in-training, but any close inspection confirms their vigilante status.

As much as All Might, upon observing all of this, wanted to congratulate the figure on a job well done, it didn't change the fact that what he did was on the wrong side of the law, and he had to treat them as such. If things had been different, this kid may have been a worthy successor, but alas, it is now his job to bring this criminal in like the rest.

But he never got the chance to. For a particular blonde pomeranian, this 'Nozomu' guy was just as much a villain as the rest. It was time to test out a certain piece of his 'support gear' he had yet to try out. And due to his recent battle with the thugs, they were fully charged for use.

With that, he turned on the vigilante, activating the gauntlets at point blank range, much to the others' dismay and horror in the case of a nearby brunette. Flames cackled and erupted forward, lunging at their target. Upon contact, it consumed the figure in smoke and blaze, covering the result.

"You really thought that a mere explosion would be enough, well hate to break it to you, but I know you too well to fall for that again. I guess those 10 years of bullying helped, didn't it Kacchan?" Nozomu spoke as the smoke dispelled, revealing the vigilante, scorched shield in-hand. "Well it was nice while it lasted, goodbye for now, heroes!" He exclaimed as he pulled a grappling-hook out of his belt and fired it upward, pulling him once more into the ventilation shafts and out of sight.

"Who was that Bakugou?" Asked one of his classmates. "No, it can't be," Bakugou grunted to himself, "That damn nerd just had to be a hero, no matter how he does it." A small hint of guilt lingered on his voice. They could tell he knew more, but now was not the time to press the matter. They had the injured to attend to.
