Intrusive Thoughts

So I just wrote this.

What are intrusive thoughts?
An intrusive thought is an unwelcome, involuntary thought, image, or unpleasant idea that may become an obsession, is upsetting or distressing, and can feel difficult to manage or eliminate.
Also remember that Impulsive Thoughts are different. (They are similar and can both happen at the same time. At least in my experience.)
Impulsive thoughts are those out-of-the-blue notions or urges that can push us into snap decisions, often without weighing the outcomes first. They have various roots, like stress or anxiety, and can be sparked by things around us or the emotions inside us.
Here's some examples:
(Aka 'some' stuff I think of daily... and somehow- I'm strong enough not to give into them ❤️🩹
Just barely...)

Everyone has different ones, here are some examples I found plus some of my own...
They hurt...
They are bad...
But... they are intrusive...
REMEMBER- these thoughts don't make you a bad person 🫂❤️🩹
[‼️Warning- these can get very dark]
- Hurting oneself. What if I just do this?
- Hurting others. I want to- ...
- Speeding car and crashing. Reckless driving.
What if I drive off the edge?
- Thoughts of something inappropriate.
- Flashbacks to bad memories.
- What if I just stab someone?
- What if I'm attracted to kids? (Remember these are unwanted thoughts- people that act on these are pedos)
- Graphic and disturbing dreams/nightmares or thoughts.
- Imagining the ceiling fan falling.
- Imagining the worst case scenario or ptsd happening again.
- Delusional thoughts.
- Negative self talk.
- What happens if I just hurt myself?

Here's some examples of Impulsive Thoughts:
- Throwing a rock at someone.
- Cutting your hair.
- What if I jump off this ledge?
- What if I just drop this baby?
- What if I just punch my boss?
- Wanting to interrupt someone talking.
- Impulse to buy something unnecessary.
- Impulse to shout in public.
- Impulse to curse someone out.
- Impulse to punch someone.
- I want to just down a bottle of pills.

These thoughts suck...
So let's try to make it better.
