"He hates me, sorry, I mean he abhors me!" Jisoo exclaimed, backing up her complaint with dramatic hand gestures.

Jinyoung, her friend, who has been sitting across her listening to her rant about her 'merciless' and 'lethal' boss, chuckled occasionally when Jisoo stopped for breath.

"C'mon Chu, he can't be that bad right? Don't be so melodramatic. I think he acknowledges you as the most competent employee they've ever had, and truly appreciates everything you do for him and the company." Jinyoung assured her with a warm smile.

It was a bit odd to him how the CEO of Kim Publications has been the only subject of Jisoo's talks since the past few days. If Jinyoung didn't know better, he would say that Jisoo almost had a crush on Kim Taehyung. But, since he does know better, he lets this observation slide.

"Melodramatic?!" Jisoo exclaims, "Well, if you think I'm melodramatic, you should really meet my boss. One moment, he is Satan himself, and the very next moment, he is the most blameless soul on earth. He looks like an outcast from some other dimension. I'll tell you, he's one bipolar dic-"

"No cursing during meals!" Jinyoung reprimanded, gesturing to the terrifying amount of chicken tenders she had ordered, deciding that they will make a 'fine dinner'. Jinyoung, who was not accustomed to having too much fast food as meals, had no choice but to cope up with his friend's unusual cravings.

Jisoo huffed, and plopped a big tender into her mouth.

"Yah! How many times have I told you not to stuff your mouth like that?!" Jinyoung chided, "The food is not going to disappear, but you will certainly choke awfully some day if you keep eating like that."

Jisoo grimaced, and turned her head to examine the interior of the eatery. This place generally bustled with customers, but today, it was unusually vacant, with only four more tables excluding theirs being occupied.

Jisoo's attention was diverted from her surroundings as she indulged in a heated argument with Jinyoung, again.

"Taehyung, this is bound to blow up anyway. I don't think we can afford to wait for two months!" Kim Namjoon was currently providing Taehyung with all the good reasons to publish their collaborated project as soon as possible, but Taehyung was undeterred.

"I told you, hyung. I know what I'm doing." Taehyung replied, not even looking up from his phone, earning an agitated sigh from Namjoon.

"You know what? Just forget it. Let's just grab a bite like we planned." Taehyung suggested, pointing to the clock, which showed that it was way past the customary dining hour.

"Do you really wanna go out? We could always order something you know." Namjoon insisted.

"No. This cabin is killing me. I could really use some air." He said, rising from his seat and gesturing the other to do the same.

Jisoo excused herself to the washroom, yes, but she just wanted to check up on Jennie. Jinyoung has always thought that she is bad news for some reason. Jisoo did not want to meddle with this impression of her by calling Jennie in front of him.

Unfortunately, she still couldn't reach her. She had been desperately waiting for Jennie to call back, albeit once, since noon, but to no avail. She decided to check her messages, in case Jennie had dropped her a text.

However, the dreadful text that was awaiting her did not belong to Jennie. It was Rose's.

Rosie:

I can't reach Jennie. I regret telling her that he is back.

This took Jisoo by surprise. He was back? And Jennie knows about this? Knowing how impulsive Jennie was, leaving her alone to such a news was not the wisest thing to do.

She must see Jennie this instant.
