DASHING SONGS MADE their way into my ears as cami and i serve the people coming into the busy bar. rapidly, i get a cloth and clean the surface of the wood, something i usually do when i have no one to serve. I spot two men sitting down and put on a forced smile before i make my way over to them.

"hello, boys. what would you like?" i ask and then man with his two hands around their shoulder takes out a one hundred dollar bill before sliding it onto the table.

"your oldest scotch for my two friends here, love." i smile, accepting the money and then look in the cabinet for the oldest scotch we have. If he payed a hundred than he should definitely get the best. After finding it i pour into two cups then slide it over to the two, still shaken up, men.

I sigh when i look back, not finding them but their cups drained completely. without my notice, cami makes her way over to me, placing a hand on my shoulder. "how's your first day going so far?" she asks with a smile and I shrug, taking the two cups and washing them out.

"wonderful. a guy actually gave me a hundred dollar bill. everyone here just throws money around, I swear, but hey, I'm not complaining." she shakes her head, giggling lightly at the commentary before getting back to work and I do the same.

a few minutes later I see my two baby girls run into the bar with wide smiles. I move from behind the bar and crouch down as I embrace them on each side into an instant hug.

"how are my two favourite girls?" I ask, grinning at mads. I let them both go as they climb onto the chairs and madeleine takes a seat next to them. she ruffles ellie's hair and then pressed a kiss on belle's cheek.

"sorry, babe. I've got to go see what's wrong with my aunt, caroline says she's sick. I'll be going back to mystic falls." she smiles sadly and I nod before kissing her cheek and giving her my prayers. mads has been my friend for years. I know that our friendship has been on and off as of lately because I'm traveling with camille but we both know everything about each other and love each other so much that distance was never really a challenge for our friendship.

madeleine leaves in a hurry and I keep an eyes on the two girls whilst serving the countless people that come into the bar. after a few minutes I notice them start to get bored and that is never a good sign seeing as the last time they got bored in the bar, I ended up in trouble with marcel.

I'm a witch but I got shunned long ago. even though magic is my nature marcel gerard was a man who wouldn't allow it. any other witch to ever try magic would get sentenced to death on the spot without a second thought but I do it to protect my girls and he knows that I would never use it for anything else. he trusts me, that's something I don't take lightly. he also has no idea that I can actually do magic without him sensing it, but moving on.

me being the only witch known to not die when is using magic, got a lot of requests from people to do spells. some even threatened the baby twins, that's when marcel took it upon himself to check up on me everyday and took precautions by giving me a braclet which's supposed to stop me from doing magic but I just deactivated it the second he gave it to me.

I look to my side and see camille teasing isabelle, making faces at her and giving her kisses all over her face. after i'm done giving the tipsy woman her shot, i move over to cami and the girls.

"I cant thank you enough, cami. you're seriously a lifesaver." i praise, once more as i've been doing the whole day. I haven't found an apartment yet so this job is something I really need. but it is quite hard having a job and taking care of two four-year-olds. cami has alway covered my shifts if I asked her to and she's also taken care of the girls whenever I wasn't free.

"please stop thanking me, you're my best friend, sky, i'd do anything for you and the little girls." i smile as i give her a side hug and sigh, checking the time. just a few more customers to go and I can finally head out to the motel.

I wander the streets of new orleans after I put the kids to sleep, not forgetting to set up the camera. I always have a camera in the room that's connected to my phone so that I can see whatever's happening in, not to mention that it records everything.

the magnificent lights, splashing of colors and loud noise consumes me. I don't get a break often, only ever taking care of the kids and then working. cami and I do have our fair share of sleepovers but it's been forever since I've went on a date.

sitting down, the music wind breathes past me and I take it in with a wide smile. whenever I have free time on my hands, my first instinct is to get out a book and read but because I forgot it at home, I take out my phone and check on the girls quickly before looking for the online version.

finally finding it, I start reading word by word, easing my nerves in a matter of seconds. reading and writing have always been passions of mine. my major was english literature which I exceeded with a ninety-seven percent. at that point I thought I could become a writer, as I intended back when I was a teenager, but writing isn't as easy as it once was. back then, I didn't have girls that I had to look after and constantly worry about. the thing that terrifies me the most is when their innocence is going to be swept away because of the supernatural.

they're my girls. I will never let anything harm them, I owe it to them. to him.
