Chapter 6

Arrival at Beacon

Early in the morning Kyon woke up before the others heading down to the river where he and (Y/n) were last night washing his face off but looking at his reflection in the water he saw his younger self.

His feelings were complicated, confusing yet also conflicting. He wanted to be close to people, wanted to trust them but his once happy younger self he saw in the river changed to a version of him that looked dead. That version of himself was covered in stitches, bruises, and cuts. His left eye was orange while his right was crimson red.

Kyon slammed his hands in the water making that image disappear.

Kyon: I can never let that side of me show..I can't control it, I'll lose myself and-

A twig snapped ahead of him to see a weird looking grimm standing in his way

Kyon stared at the monster unbeknownst to the two people watching from a distance.

???: Poor guy he's about to be put out of his misery.

??: Then he can die with his dignity intact.

The grimm leaped forward throwing a fist towards the boy only got its fist to be blocked easily

The two people watching from the pushed jaws dropped. Kyon forced the grimm down to his level then its head came smooth off of its shoulders. Kyon used his semblance to make a sword made out of his electricity and it was strong enough

??: H-Holy crap

???: He just- Emerald did you see that?

Emerald: Yes I saw it. Now with that being said don't go getting any bright ideas Mercury.

The wind gently blew on his body causing the electricity to move with the wind before it disappeared as his back was facing them

Mercury: I don't Em, that grimm alone was just about as strong as Hazel if not stronger and he forced it down to his knees... Believe it or not.. I don't want to fight this guy or be anywhere around him.

They hurried off into the distance going to report to their "higher up" what they saw, maybe it could be a potential addition to their group. If not a dangerous enemy.

Kyon stood there as his memories of his past flooded his brain. When he came back to his senses the area around him was dead, grass and flowers. He sighed heavily looking down letting his hair cover his eyes.

Kyon: No matter what I think I deserve it's the opposite. Monsters don't get fairy tale endings..

Turning around he headed back to camp where Star and (Y/n) were to wake them up so they could get to Beacon quickly and no more surprises by grimm.

-TimeSkip-

Hours have passed and Team Rwby has somewhat been okay the past few days have been trying to get Weiss under control. Ruby's done her job to keep her team in check and line. Yang and Blake have been on a rocky road about their relationship and everything. Velvet has been more distant from her team and barely eating. But they didn't know that their world would change for better or worse depending on how they would adjust.

Ozpin texted team Rwby to report to his office IMMEDIATELY the matter was urgent.

Ruby: Let's go team!

Weiss: R-Right

(Y/n) would feel guilty to see his delicate snowflake in such a state, she's hallucinating. She thinks (Y/n) hates her guts for letting him die, that she's haunted or cursed to live with the fact she was weaker. Throughout the past few months she may have gotten physically stronger however her mental state definitely deteriorated.

-A few minutes before-

(Y/n), Kyon and Star stumbled into Ozpin's office luckily with no one stopping them, Star and (Y/n) looked sad to that but it just leaves for a bigger introduction for them.

The elevator dinged to Ozpin's surprise he didn't call anyone up there so whoever came up there is unannounced. Once the elevator was fully opened his cup of coffee dropped to the floor breaking.

(Y/n): Hello professor Ozpin, long time no see. Literally because I've been dead up until maybe 2-3 days ago.

Ozpin: H-How is this possible? I mean being able to cheat death is in-

(Y/n): Insane absolutely however I couldn't have came back if it weren't for these 2 amazing/beautiful people Kyon and-

Ozpin: Star.

Star: Good to see you again Ozprick still sipping on that disgusting coffee I presume?

Ozpin: And you're still a thorn in my side as always, are you actually going to stay this time or-

In a blink of an eye Kyon was behind ozpin with both of his hands on the sides of Ozpin's face.

(Y/n): Whoa whoa!-

Kyon: Don't disrespect her.

Ozpin: Good to see you've made a friend after all this time. Young man if you would so kindly move away that would be much appreciated.

Kyon's eyes flickered about to use his semblance

Star: It's alright Ky you're good.

Kyon scoffed returning next to Star with his arms crossed giving Ozpin a side eye.

Ozpin fixed his collar and cleared his throat before answering (Y/n).

Ozpin: Well now that, thats out of the way (Y/n) I'm relieved to know that you're alright after all this time. Also good to know I'll be able to live another day.

He shot a glare at Kyon, Kyon retaliated by standing in front of Star and growled at Ozpin.

(Y/n): Forgive him please he's just really overprotective of Star, they're like family so I'm sure you can understand why he acted the way he did.

Ozpin sighed sitting down in his chair looking at three with the same dead panned look on his face.

Ozpin: Like I stated before, glad to see you're alive and well I'm sure a few people would be relieved to know you're alive and kicking.

(Y/n) rubbed the back of his neck smiling thinking about the certain group of girls. Ozpin reached out to team RWBY telling them to come to his office immediately.

-Back to the Present-

Team Rwby looked at Ozpin with a questioning look and at the male with his back turned to them.

Ruby: Hey Professor Ozpin you summoned us?

Ozpin: Yes I did indeed I have a surprise for you all actually

He said looking a the older looking male who was skinny and had longer hair

Weiss: I thought this would be important-

(Y/n): I didn't know I wasn't important Weiss.

RWBY's eyes all went wide when they heard his voice, the voice they've been eager to hear as he slowly turned to them. Their hearts kept beating faster and faster like time was moving slow motion. Once he fully turned they all stepped back getting a good look at the boy who's been gone for so long.

(Y/n): Hey girls!

They didn't move they thought it would be some sort of joke

(Y/n): Thought you all would be way more happy to see me since I've been..well you know de- OOF!!

Ruby Blake and Yang tackled (Y/n) onto the ground hugging him tightly causing the boy to be squeezed all over it was hard for him to breathe.

(Y/n) Ow Ow ow! Still healing!

Weiss: (Y-Y/n)...

He averted his eyes onto Weiss who was further back looking down. Luckily enough he was able to get out of the death grip the other girls had him in as he walked over to Weiss lightly grabbing her chin making her look up at him.

(Y/n): Hey Snowflake aren't you happy to see me?

Weiss: W-Why are you so calm.. d-don't you hate me?.... A-Are you even real or is this another hallucination..? I-I

She was cut off by (Y/n) pulling her into a hug, he held on tightly, Weiss' face exploded red. While her face was in his chest she put her ear up to where his heart would be and she listened closely to his heartbeat not letting go.

Kyon & Star: 'I ship it'

Weiss: B-But how we saw you disappear y-you died..

(Y/n) Pshhh yeah indeed I did, I met two oiled up German guys trying to wrestle me in the after life, but HOW I'm back is thanks to the cat over there.

He smiled pointing at Kyon who was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed

Kyon: Wha-

Ruby, Blake and Weiss pulled Kyon into a hug which caused the boy to blush madly

R.B.W: Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

Kyon: P-Please let go..

Ruby: You're amazing you saved him thank you so much!

Kyon forced himself out of their hug moving away from them which caused the girls to look at him confused, most guys love the chance to be hugged by 3 girls at once.

Star: Forgive him, he's not big on large groups of people or new ones at that. But I assume this is the team you couldn't wait to get back to huh (Y/n)?

(Y/n): Yup! I've missed them and I'm sure I'm definitely in for an ear full later. Team Rwby this is Star and Kyon and vice versa.

He chuckled then Ozpin spoke up.

Ozpin: As heart warming as this may be I'm more than sure (Y/n) can resume classes you two however I know nothing about, well one to be technical. I know enough about you Star, maybe you've gotten rusty after all these years.

Star rolled her eyes keeping her hands in her pockets looking at the old man.

Ozpin: Doesn't mean I won't give you the chance to be huntsman in training again, Kyon was it? I have no files on you nor any school you've attended care to explain.

Kyon: My life is complicated and none of your damn business.

Ozpin: Guess we'll get back on that, Mr. (L/n) can you vouch for these two?

(Y/n): I do! They're strong and kind, Star wants to continue her training into being a huntress and even though I don't know Kyon very well he wants to be strong enough to protect the people he cares about regardless of how he feels in the end.

Ozpin: Very well then. I shall hold an initiation for the two of you for the entire school to see what you're capable of. Do not disappoint.

Kyon & Star flipped him off walking to the elevator however it before they got there it dinged again to see a teacher with blonde hair, glasses and what believes to be a riding crop in hand?

???: Ozpin what the hell is-

(Y/n): AHH Hprofessor it's been a long time

She caught a glimpse of everyone, seeing (Y/n) alive which made her jaw drop, then her eyes were set on Star with her eyes began to water. Star stood there frozen in time looking at the woman she's aged and matured since the last time she's seen her which was years ago.

Star: 'Uh oh she broke quick make conversation' Glynda goodbitch it's nice to see yo-

Her sentence was cut short when she got slapped across the face by the older woman who Kyon presumed it was Ozpin's woman.

Star got slapped multiple times by the woman but she was crying while hitting her

Glynda: You should've just stayed away!

Glynda kept throwing her hands at Star eventually she had enough grabbing onto Glynda's wrist then smashed her lips onto hers. Glynda fought it at first then eventually melted into it. They both seemed to enjoy it but before it got out of hand Glynda pulled away smacking Star across her face one last time before exiting the room.

Ozpin: That will be a nice discussion with her later.

Kyon: 'Star owned count: 20'

Star stood there in shock watching Glynda disappear

Kyon: Talk about a homecoming.
