Ara's PoV

I woke up from an unbearable pain in my stomach and head. My eyes opened slightly.

My stomach growled loudly and hurt even more.

I groaned in pain.. Two months in this hell hole without food and i didn't even eat after I woke up before they took me.

My tail wrapped around my stomach.

"Morning runt" I heard zeno's voice say. I looked up and him sleepily. He smiled.

I 'smiled' back. I hadn't gotten much of my memory of this place back yet...

Only the same vague glimces I had from before.

"What happened?" I asked as I sat up but screamed in pain, clutching my side as I did.

"Well Seth tried to take me, you..started acting weird. You were very violent and you tried killing Seth. He cut your side open during your fight, you bled out and he dragged you away. You came back half dead. Thank god they let me heal you kid" he said.

I now noticed the various fresh bandages on my body aswell as the old bloody and filthy ones.

"Weird..I don't remember any of that.." I answered.

He sighed sadly and looked at me. I rubbed the metal on my wrists.

"I'm guessing you don't remember what today is then do you ara?" Zeno asked. I tilted my head. Usually he called me by nicknames.. He only uses my actual name of somethings bothering him.

"No.. What is it bud?" I asked. He didn't say anything.

"It's the anniversary of mikey's d-"

Seth's pov

I walked down the hall to princess' cell. I smirked when I heard her talking to Zeno.

"Weird..I don't remember any of that.." I heard ara say.

"I'm guessing you don't remember what today is then do you ara?" Zeno asked.

"No.. What is it bud?" Princess asked in response . I was about to be right outside there cell.

"It's the anniversary of mikey's d-" Zeno was about to say till he stopped when ara threw her knife at my like a dart, slitting my cheek and hitting the wall.

"Aww... I missed" she said in a fake disappointed tone. I could tell it was a warning shot.

"Was that supposed to hit me princess?" I asked her. She growled.

"That's what I thought" I said pulling it out of the wall.

"So, would you to like to play a game?" I asked. Ara looked at me curiously. Yet Zeno gave me the usual, don't you dare!, glare. I smirked.

"Like what?" She asked.

"Ara don't " Zeno said under his breath.

"Hide and seek. Me and turles will be on. And you and Zeno will have to hide. If we can't fine you, you get to leave, if we do..lets just say it'll be more fun for me " I told them.

"Fine.. We'll play " Ara replied getting up. I smirked. This'll be good.

Ara's PoV

I growled at his constantly growing smirk. Stupid son of a bitch...

"Kid this isn't a good idea" Zeno whispered to me.

"I want to get out of this hell hole Zeno... And your coming with me. I can't leave you here again" I told him. I saw him smile slightly.

I suddenly heard turles chuckle. I fainted at him.

"When the fuck did you get here?" I ask him. He didn't answer.

"Let's just start..." I said.

"Fine. You have 1 minute to hide and try and escape. Go!" Seth yelled. I grabbed zeno's hand and ran as fast as i could ignoring the agony.

My bare feed stung with every step, but I ignored it as I skidded across the floor as I turned. Where was it?!

Flashback

Tears streamed from my eyes as Zeno fought off Seth and turles.

"Kid! Run!" He screamed at me.

"No!! I can't leave you!!" I yelled back.

"Just do it! Please!! Do it for mikes! Don't let him go in vein!"He begged.

I nodded and started to run. My feet skidded across the floor as I turned. Then I took a sharp right and ran as fast as I could.

End of flashback

I took a sharp right and kept running. Suddenly I heard footsteps and I froze. I pulled Zeno into a cell and hid in the dark.

I covered my own mouth to hide my panting from running so much and my fear. Zeno hugged me and stroked my tail gently, it actually helped me calm down and I snuggled up to him.

"Can you see them?!" Turles yelled.

"No! I now their here! I can sense Ara! I just can see her!" Seth yelled as he stopped right outside the cell. I but my lip to stop me whimpering in fear. Zeno picked my up and petted my tail more to keep me calm. I was glad he did as I was about to have a mental breakdown and I take the pain anymore...

Zeno's pov

I held the back of Ara's head gently, hiding her head in chest. I watched as Seth scanned the cell. I practically felt my heart stop when he looked straight at me.

I threw Ara's knife, missing me by less then a millimetre.

"Must have just been my mind playing tricks.." He said before leaving. I sighed in relief.

I glanced back at ara who was asleep in my arms.. Knew the kid was wrecked but I didn't expect her to just nod off like that.

She smiled in her sleep it was the first genuine smile I'd seen on her face in a while. I smiled. I pulled the knife out of the wall and held ara close to me.

I glanced outside the cell for either of them but I didn't see them. I ran as fast as I could trying to find the exit. We need to get out! I can't watch this kid slowly rot away in front of me any longer...
