•Alan's POV•

I didn't know how to feel being in Austin's arms at the moment. I wanted to punch him but I also wanted him to hold me tighter. He kept on mumbling apologies in my ear and I couldn't seem to let them sink in. I couldn't believe he was actually sorry.  I wanted to. I wanted to just forget everything but he was so bipolar towards me that in a matter of seconds he could be shoving me on the ground calling me disgusting.

"Austin I want to go home." I said and brought a hand up to wipe my tears away.
"Please."
"Yea. Sure anything." He said hurriedly. "I'll take to you my place if you want. Come on lets go." He said and reached to grab my hand. I jerked my hand back fast and wrapped my arms around myself.  I saw the hurt look in his eyes but I just felt conflicted with his touch at the moment.
"Just take me to my house please." I said quietly and he nodded his head.

I followed him as I walked to his car and he opened the door for me and I slid in.
He walked around and got in himself. He turned to me and insisted that I buckled up or he wasn't moving the vehicle. I sighed and done what he wanted anyway. The first half and most of the last half of the ride was silent. Austin reached for my hand once and once again I pulled it back.

"Why were you hanging out with Oli at the party?" He asked and gripped the steering wheel tight.
"He invited me." I shrugged my shoulders. "And he was being nice. He was fun too, helped me get my mind off of things. Makes good drinks too."
"All he wanted was to sleep with you." Austin said angrily.
"Yea well at least he wanted me." I shot back. Austin face immediately fell and I felt the sadness wash over him.

"I'm sorry." I said quietly and twiddled my thumbs.
"No. no. Please don't be sorry this is all my fault." He said. "I shouldn't have...done what I did."
"You had reason."
"Alan stop trying to justify my actions!" He yelled and I shrank in on myself. I think I've said this before but Austin is scary when he yells.

"Shit." He mumbled. "I can't get this right can I." Nothing else was said and finally we pulled into my driveway. I unlocked the door and stepped out, Austin done the same and followed me to the door.
"Okay you can leave now." I said and searched my pockets for my keys.
"No can do." He said giving me a half smile. "I-I have to make sure your okay."

I said nothing just opened the door and walked into the house.
"Alan is that you?" It was dad. I walked in to the living room and he smiled at me. The smile quickly faded when he saw Austin.  Dad stood up quickly and pushed me behind him. This made Austin growl and dad let out his own menacing one in return.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Dad said and Austin took a couple of steps forward.
"He's my mate. Why wouldn't I be here? I have a right."
Dad snorted. "Yea like you actually have a right. Not after what you did you piece of shit."

I could see Austin's eyes starting to change and I could feel the heat radiating from my dad. Here I had two wolf shifters ready to shift and rip each other's neck apart and what do I do? I step between them.
"Stop. You guys are acting immature." I put my hands on Austin's chest shoving him lightly in the directions of the stairs. "Go to my room." He looked back at my dad and then growled before stomping, like a five year, old up the stairs.

"At least he's become protective." My mom said leaning against the kitchen doorway.
"When did you get here?" I asked confused.
"Sensed your dad was going to go off on someone so I cut my walk short. Now what's up with you and Austin?" Mom came over and wrapped her arms around Dad to calm him down and I took a seat on the arm of the couch.

"I have no clue. He seen me with Oli tonight and it's like switch flipped." I shook my head. "I don't even know. I just can't help but see it all as a joke Mom. Like any second he's gonna whip out a camera and humiliate me for everyone to see. He let his walls down but i built mine up. Well as much as I could. I was never really good with that." I gave her a small smile. "I don't know what to do."

"I'm up for killing the bastard." Dad said Mom smacked his arm lightly.
"Stand down Papa bear." She said with a laugh.
"I'm not a bear." He pouted. I hope one day that maybe Austin and I could be like that. Carefree and in love. I sighed and a frown found its way to my face. Mom came over and hugged me. "All I can say is take it slow. Forgive but don't forgive too easily. He really hurt you Alan. You thought we lost you for good a couple times." She kissed my forehead and then grabbed dad's hand. "I'm going to finish my walk and your dad's going to run off some steam. You know what to do if you need us." I nodded and watched them walk out the back door.
