One week later.

Danny walks into the Paulson household and jingles his keys.

"Sarah!  Jess!"

"What are you shouting for?" Sarah asks.

"Hey Danny!" Jessica smiles.

"Hey babe!  You are looking at a licensed driver.  Y'all hop in!"

Jessica runs to Danny and hugs him. "You did it?!"

"I did and I wanted to take my two best friends for a ride.. my cousin and my girlfriend.  Maybe I should get some new friends."

Jessica laughs and taps his chest.  She then pecks his lips and turns to Catherine.

"Mom, will you please watch Isla?  She's napping and we shouldn't be long."

"Yes, go and have fun.  Be carful, Daniel!"

"I will, Aunt Cathy."

The three took off and went for a ride.

Time went on.  Halloween and Thanksgiving came and went.

It's now December and the two families are heading up north.

Danny and Jessica sat next to each other on the plane ride, of course Isla sat with them.

Isla sat on Jessica's lap and stared at her chest. She then started hitting breasts.

"Isla!" Jessica laughs. "What are you doing? Those are mine."

"Boobies?"

"Yeah."

Isla then looks down and places her hands on her chest. "Mine."

Jessica laughs. "You are a nut!"

Isla giggles and throws herself on Jessica's chest.

"Why are you suddenly so obsessed with my boobs?"

"She got that from Danny." Sarah says who sat in front of them.

Danny kicks her chair.

Jessica laughs and nods. "No, Danny respects my body."

Sarah leans on the back of her chair and looks down. "He may respect it but he's always had a roaming eye. Remember when you were pregnant?"

"Well yeah but they were huge!"

Jessica laughs and elbows Danny.
"You couldn't miss them then. They've shrunk down a lot since then."

Danny smiles and says, "They're still very nice."

"Thanks!" Jessica laughs.

"I wanna sit with aunt Sarah!" Isla says.

"Good. Go with your aunt." Jessica hands her over.

"Wooo!  This fun!" Isla laughs.

"Come over here, pretty girl.  We have more fun up here!"

"Yeah!"

Jessica giggles and leans into Danny. "Mommy's taking a nap."

Isla peaks to the back and giggles cutely. "BOO!"

"Oh no, she thinks it's a game now."

"I see you mommy!"

"I see you too, Princess!  Don't shout, okay?  There are people around us."

"BOO DANNY!  I scared you!"

"You did, you got me!"

Isla cracks up.

Christmas.

Isla still to this day is not a huge fan of Santa, so when Danny's uncle came in dressed as Santa she took off screaming and crying.

"Islaaa.  It's okay, honey." Jessica says lightly bouncing her. "You're fine.  Look at the twins and Angelica!  They're not scared."

"Isla's a babyyyyy!" Levi says.

"Hey!  Sut up!"

Jessica covers Isla's mouth. "Don't say that!  Isla, please go take a picture."

"No I scared!" She fusses.

"It's okay, Isla.  She's scared, Jess." Danny says.

"I know but I want a picture." Jessica pouts.

"Isla, will you take a picture if mommy and I get in with you?"

"No!"

"Please?  You're making mommy so sad, Isla."

"FINE!"

"That's a good girl!  Let's go."

The three take a picture with a smiling but still teary eyed and frightened Isla.

"Good girl!  See?  That wasn't bad!"

Isla looks to Santa and reaches over to pull his beard off.

"HEY!  You twicked me!" She says.

"Ahhh!" Thomas screams.
"Uncle Tony?!"

"You're Santa?!" Levi asks.

"Leave it to my child to ruin the Christmas magic for the rest of the children."

Zoe laughs and lifts Anjelica. "She's fine!  Isla, you looked so beautiful in your picture!"

"Yeah."

Jessica chuckles and nods her head.

January.

"Isla, where is your other shoe!"

"I losted it, mommy."

Jessica sighs. "Danny is on his way and we have to leave."

"Where we going?"

"We are going to the store so you can decide on the type of party you want."

"I wan a monster party."

"Isla.."

"I like monsters."

"We'll think about it.  Oh Isla he's here.  Get me your shoe."

"Mama I said I losted it!" Isla shouts.

Jessica sighs and continues looking for it.

"Hey!" Danny walks in.

"Hey babe.  One second, I'm looking for Isla's shoe."

"Isla, you lost it?" Danny chuckles.

Isla lifts her hands as she kicks her feet against the sofa. "Me no know what happened."

"You are a mess!"

"It almost my birthday!"

"I know!  How old are you gonna be?"

"I gon be tree!"

"Oh my gosh, that's so old!"

"I KNOW!"

Danny chuckles.

"Daniel, are you gonna help me look for her freaking shoe?" Jessica asks with an attitude.

"Oh sorry!"

Just then Doug walks downstairs.
"Jessica, this was in the toilet."

Jessica looks up and sighs. "Oh my gosh.  Isla!  Why did you put it in the toilet?"

"Oh that where it go!" She giggles.

Danny laughs. "She's so funny."

"Me like this one!"

"A circus party would be fun! It's a whole lot better than monsters."

"Me wan a monster party!"

"No you already said circus."

"Kay but Isla wan animals."

"No ma'am." Jessica chuckles.

"Jess, if she wants animals I want to pay for it."

"What? Danny no, that's way too much!"

"I'm starting my job, and you know with this face I'm gonna be getting lots of tips."

Jessica laughs and places her palm on his cheek. "I do think you'll get lots of tips with this sweet face, but I don't want you having to spend money on that. She's three!"

"She only turns three once!"

Jessica sighs. "Daniel."

Danny sighs and mocks her voice. "Jessica."

"Let me do this for her."

"Alright. Thank you." Jessica pouts.

"You're welcome. Can I have a kiss?"

Jessica giggles. "Of course."

Isla's 3rd birthday.

With some help from his parents, Danny was able to give Isla all the animals she wanted. Isla loved it and had a blast.

Isla wore the cutest ring leader outfit, definitely got into character the whole day.

Jessica was completely exhausted from the day. She sat back as she watched Danny and Sarah playing with Isla.

"She looks like she had a good birthday."

"Heh! Yeah, I think so. Thanks for coming, Sam."

"You're welcome." Sam smiles.

Sam and Jessica have been able to keep a good friendship going since she and Danny started dating. Sam moved on and is dating a girl in school.

"Mama! Mama!" Isla runs to Jessica.

"Yes baby?"

"Pick me up!"

Jessica lifts her and scrunches her nose. "You smell like a billy goat!"

Isla giggles and turns to Sam.

"Hi Sam."

"Hey Isla!"

"Mama, me like him now."

"Oh good! I'm so glad you do." Jessica chuckles.

Danny then comes over and sits down. "This girl is insane."

Jessica laughs and sits Isla on the table. "Are you crazy, Isla?"

"Yep!" She smiles.

Jessica smiles and moves her fly away hairs out of her face. She then kisses her forehead. "My pretty girl. Gosh, time has just flown by so quickly. I just gave birth to you, yet you're three and starting school in August!"

"Mommy, I not going to."

Jessica laughs. "Yes you are, stink bug."

"No NOOOT."

"Yes you are, you're going to meet friends and learn all kinds of new things!"

"Isla gots friends. Mommy, Uncle Danny, Aunt Sarah.. and Sam!"

"Hey I'm her friend." Sam smiles.

"Isla, I mean friends that are your age."

"Ummm.. No."

Jessica chuckles. "We still have a few months before then."

Jessica sighs and looks to Sarah who came over and sat down with the group. "I'm worried. I hope she isn't bullied like I was."

Just then Isla shouts to Thomas. "HEY NO! TOMMY, THAT MY ANIMALS!" She points her finger to him. "GET AWAY!!"

"Or she'll be the bully." Sarah laughs.

"If she does, she learned it from you."

"Damn right!" Sarah smiles.

"Damn right!" Isla repeats.

"Stop it." Jessica gives Isla a look. "Do not repeat after aunt Sarah. She's a bad girl."

"No she my fwiend!"

"Aww." Sarah melts.

"That's very nice, but stop teaching my child how to be bad like you."

"How about awesome like me? I am not bad!"

"Right!" Jessica scoffs.

April.

This morning Catherine made Jessica breakfast in bed then she, Sarah and Isla brought it up to her.

Isla held a small bowl and marched into the room as they sang Happy Birthday.

"Happy Birrrthdayyyy to Mommmmmyyyyyy! Happy Birthday toooo Youuuuuu!"

"Oh my goodness, thank you!"

"Here! I holding your bacon!"

"Yes and she only dropped half of it on the floor." Sarah says.

Jessica laughs. "Thank you my beautiful girl. Sarah lift her up please. Isla, sit with mommy."

"Okay!"

"Thank you all so much. This looks delicious!"

"Well dig in! It's your sixteenth birthday and you deserve it!" Catherine says.

Jessica smiles. "Thank you so much."

"Mommy I have some too."

"Isla, Gaga just fed you some." Sarah says.

"Me eat again!" Isla makes a face.

"My little piggy." Jessica says feeding her some bacon.

"Oink Oink!" Isla scrunches her nose making the three women laugh.

"You are too silly."

"Yeah I know."

Jessica chuckles and runs her hand through her blonde curls.  She then turned to Catherine with a smile on her face. "Now that I'm sixteen I can get a job so I can buy Isla's things!"

"Aw honey, I don't want you to work."

"Yeah, why would you want to work?" Sarah makes a face.

"I have a baby.  I need to save money for her."

"That is the responsible thing to do.. I just hate thinking about you having to work, go to school, and be a mom.  That's a lot, Jessie." Catherine says.

"I know.. maybe I can get a job at a daycare and Isla can just be there whenever I work?"

"That's not a bad idea."

"Mommy work a job?" Isla asks.

"I want to."

"Mommy no work." She nods her head.

"But then I can buy you more toys and clothes."

"Ohhh.  Mommy work!"

Jessica laughs. "Suddenly you're okay with it?  You stinker."

That evening Danny took her out to dinner.

"She's oh so sweet, and today she's sixteen! Happy Birthday, beautiful!"

"Aw Danny. Thank you." Jessica smiles.

"So how do you feel?"

"I feel exactly the same!" She laughs.

"Yeah well, I'm gonna make you feel so spoiled tonight because we are going to your Favorite Italian restaurant, with your Favorite Italian boy."

"No way! Joe Jonas is going to be there?!"

Danny's smile fades.

Jessica laughs. "I'm just playing! You're my favorite Italian."

"Good answer." Danny smiles and kisses her lips as Jessica just laughs.

May 20th.

"Mommy's getting ready for your date, Danny."

"Is she? I bet she looks beautiful."

"Yeah my mommy always looks beautiful."

"Aw Isla, you should tell her that because it's so sweet! I bet it'll make her smile."

"Okay!" Isla hops off the couch and crawls up the stairs to Jessica's room.

"Mommy!  Mommy!  Mommy!"

"What, Isla?"

"You so beautiful!"

"Aw thank you, baby!" Jessica smiles.

"You beautiful all the time!  Even when your hair is all messy."

Jessica chuckles. "That's so sweet of you, thank you love."

"You're welcome!" Isla then runs downstairs.

"Mommy smiled!  She was so happy I say she's beautiful!"

"I told you!  You're such a good girl, Poopy."

"Yeah me know."

Danny chuckles softly.

Jessica then walks down with a smile on her face.

"FINALLY!" Isla says.

Danny chuckles and walks over to Jessica. "Happy Anniversary." Jessica smiles.

"Happy Anniversary." Danny says before kissing her lips.

Isla runs over and grabs Jessica's legs.

Jessica chuckles. "Sarah! Come get your niece."

"Coming!"

"You be good, Isla bug. Mommy loves you." Jessica kneels down to her level.

"I love you too, Mama."

Jessica kisses her cheek and Isla says goodbye to Danny.

"I love you, Danny. You're my best fwiend."

"Aww Isla! You're my best friend too."

"Hey! What about me? I thought I was your best friend!" Sarah says.

"No way!" She laughs and leans on Danny.

"Aww!" Sarah pouts.

"I mean you're still my fwiend, but not my Best friend."

"Okay, okay.  I'll take it!"

Jessica chuckles and looks down to Isla hanging on Danny.

"Excuse me, ma'am, can you get off my boyfriend?"

"No MY boyfwiend!"

"Oh now he's your boyfriend?  Slow down, hot stuff."

"Mommyyyy." Isla smiles.

August.

"Yeah I not going to school."

"Isla, yes you are.  Why are you even in there?  You haven't been in your crib in forever!"

"What does she sleep on?"

"She sleeps with me."

"Oh." Danny chuckles.

"She would just climb out of it anyway and say my name until I put her in my bed.

"Isla!" Danny laughs.

"She's been doing that since she was two.  But Isla, you can maybe have a big girl bed if you go to school without a fuss!"

"I don't want one!" Isla makes a face.

"Isla, mommy, aunt Sarah, Gaga, Poppy and uncle Danny are going just for you!  They're so excited to see you step into that classroom for the first time!"

"You so happy I not gonna be home anymore?"

Sarah laughs.

"Isla, that's not why we're happy.  We're happy because you get to go to school and learn so many things!"

Isla groans.

"Come on.  You're fine." Jessica lifts her up.

Isla starts kicking her legs and fussing.

Jessica sighs. "Mom!"

Catherine drops what she's doing and goes to Jessica.

"Yes?"

"Isla doesn't want to go." Jessica cries softly.

"Honey, don't cry." Catherine rubs her back.

"This is normal.  She'll be fine once she sees how much fun she's going to have!" Catherine smiles to Isla.

"I used to get this way before school.. I had horrible anxiety because I thought I would be dropped off and no one would be there to pick me up.  Sometimes I would be right.."

"Baby girl, I'm so sorry you went through that.  We won't do that to Isla.  Someone will always be there for her and she knows that.  Don't you, Isla?"

Isla just stared at her mother. "Mommys sad?"

"I just want you to be happy for school.  Nothing bad is gonna happen to you, I promise.  You're going to have so much fun, and you'll love your teacher!  Mommy and Gaga will pick you up."

"You gonna be there?"

"Today I will.  Usually I'll have school, but I'll come as often as I can."

"Okay mommy.  I will go to school."

"You will?" Jessica smiles.

Isla nods. "Yes and I'm gonna twy my bestest to have fun."

"Aw good!" Jessica chuckles and hugs Isla.

"I no want you to be sad, Mommy."

"If you're not then I'm not, pretty girl."

Isla smiles and wipes her mother's cheeks. "I love you, Mama."

"I love you more, beautiful." Jessica then kissed her daughter.

Catherine watched with a smile on her face.  Jessica is so mature for her young age.  Catherine is so proud of the mother she is, and she feels honored to call her her daughter.
