She's All Mine
Danny, Jessica and Sarah all hung out upstairs in Sarah's room. Danny was a very sweet boy and didn't bring up the fact that Jessica was pregnant. He knew from his mom what happened, and he felt sorry for her.
Jessica was grateful for the fact that Danny didn't make her pregnancy the center of attention. She felt like just a normal kid for a moment.

"I'm telling you, I should totally start a YouTube channel. People would LOVE me."
"So what's stopping you, Sarah?" Jessica chuckles.
"The lack of talent." Danny says with a straight face making Jessica laugh.
Sarah makes a face and hits Danny's arm.
"I have plenty of talent, Stupid!"
"And really, since when do you need talent to become a youtuber?" Jessica asks.
"True. I guess it's just the fact that you're not even a little bit entertaining."
"Daniel, get out of my room!"
Jessica laughs and looks at Danny.
"You see how she treats me? Like SCUM!" Danny grabs a pillow and throws it forcefully at Sarah's head.
"Oh gosh!" Jessica laughs and places her hand over her belly.
"Don't worry, I won't throw one at you, Jess."
"We appreciate that!" She chuckles.
Danny glances at her belly for a moment before looking back to Jessica and smiling.
Jessica blushes and looks away.
"You know what? I'm glad I almost drowned you when we were kids." Sarah says randomly.
"Oh my gosh, What!"
"Oh yeah, she almost offed me!" Danny says.
"Sarah!"
"He pulled my swim suit bottoms down!"
"We were five. I did it to be funny because she was playing with this little boy she thought was cute. My eyes were scared for life."
Jessica laughs.
"So wait.. you almost killed him because he pants you?"
"Yep! I snuck away and held his head under water."
"She told me she found candy, so I followed."
"Aw!" Jessica pouts.
"Don't Aw him!"
"No she has every right to!"
"Whatever! Anyway, then my mom found us and beat the crap out of me."
"You're lucky your aunt didn't do the same. I know I'd beat the kid who tried to drown my child."
"He deserved it. I'm still mad about that!" Sarah throws the pillow back at him.
"You guys are so funny. I wish I had that.."
"What? A mean cousin?" Danny asks.
"No. Just a cousin in general. I've grown up alone. I'm with a foster family now, but I've never had a relationship like this. I'd give anything to have real a family like this."
"Aw Jess." Sarah pouts. "I can hold your head under water if you want."
Through her teary eyes Jessica laughs. "Thanks, Sar."
Danny didn't know what to say to Jessica. He felt terrible for her, but he didn't want to speak and say the wrong thing.
Sarah sat beside Jessica and spoke to her, cracking jokes just to make her happy. She then suggested they watch a movie.
"Danny, make yourself useful and go downstairs for Jessica's snacks."
"Sarah, it's fine! Danny, you don't have to do that. I'm fine!"
"I don't mind going. What would you like?"
"The baby likes sweets." Sarah says.
"Alright. I'll see what I can find."
"You really don't have to. I can go down and get my own, you guys."
"It's fine. Just get comfortable, I'll be right back."
Jessica smiles. "Thank you.."
**
A few minutes later Danny returned.
"Here you go. All the sweets I could find."
"Ooh, thank you!"
"No problem."
"Jess and I have the bed. You can sit on the floor." Sarah says.
Danny walks over and shoves Sarah. "Move!"
"Ouch! Stop it!" Sarah hits him back.
Jessica laughs and scoots closer to Sarah. "There's still room, you can sit here. I'm big, but I'm not that big yet!" She giggles.
"Thank You, Jessica." Danny makes a face at Sarah.
Jessica giggles and presses play.

Throughout the movie the baby kicked and punch all over the place. All was fine until she jabbed her foot into Jessica's ribs.
"OW!" Jessica cried out, grabbing her belly.
"What's wrong?" Sarah panics.
"I'm sorry. I'm okay. Man, that hurt." She rubs her side.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Danny asked.
"Yeah. She just kicked me really hard in the ribs." Jessica chuckles.
"Ouch!"
"She's really crazy these days."
"You're having a girl?"
Jessica smiles softly and nods her head.
"Cool! Have you thought of a name yet?"
Jessica nods her head no and looks down as she runs her hand down her bump. "I'm giving her up for adoption.."
"Oh! Oh wow, that's really great of you. I mean, not that you should, because I'm sure you'd make a great mom! But it's cool of you to make another couples dreams come true."
Jessica smiles. "Thanks."
Sarah notices Danny and Jessica staring into each others eyes with goofy expressions.
"Okay.... You guys? Hellooo!"
Danny and Jessica turn to Sarah.
"You good?" She asks them.
"I'm great." Jessica giggles.
"Yeah." Danny turns to Jessica and smiles softly. "Me too."
Jessica blushes and looks down.

Two weeks later.
Sarah is over at Jessica's house.
Jessica relaxed on her bed. Her belly sticking straight up as her snack holder.
"So your cousins are finally in their new house? That's cool!"
"Yeah, it's really nice too."
"So that means you, me, and Danny will all be in school together?"
"Yep! Starting on Monday he'll be the new guy in class."
"Cool." Jessica blushes.
"Ew, do you like my cousin?"
"No!" Jessica makes a face before smiling. "Okay maybe he's cute. But I can't help it, it's these hormones! Blame the baby." She says taking Cheez Its off of her belly and sticking them in her mouth.
"It must be because he's not all that!"
"Sarah he's SO cute!"
"Gross!"
Jessica laughs and says, "I'm not gonna say anything. I mean look at me!"
"You're cute, Jess." Sarah smiles. "I'm sure Danny thinks you are too."
"I'm pregnant!"
"So that makes you less cute?"
"I'm Twelve and Pregnant! I'm shocked he even said hello to me. Face it Sarah, your best friend is a weirdo."
"Stop it, you are not! Jesus, you're annoying."
"Thanks!" Jessica laughs. She then feels strong kicks and looks down her her belly.
"Sarah, look at this. She's kicking my snack. The Cheez Its are sliding off!"
Sarah laughs and sits beside Jessica.
Jessica sticks the rest in her mouth and lifts her shirt. "Look. Give me your hand."
Jessica then places it on her belly and watches as Sarah's eyes go wide. "What the heck!"
Jessica laughs and pulls her shirt back down. "She's crazy, I told you!"
"I don't know how you do it, Jess."
Jessica chuckles and lightly scratches her stomach. "We're getting through." She then looks down and continues. "Aren't we, Isla?"
"Isla?"
"Yeah." Jessica smiles softly.
"I didn't think you decided on a couple yet."
"I haven't. That's just what I decided to call her."
"Jessica." Sarah tilts her head to the side.
"What?"
"You can't do that. You're not keeping her. Naming her will only make it harder on you."
"Well I'm sorry but I'm not calling my baby an 'IT'. I hate the way it sounds. She's a person, Sarah."
"Jess."
"What!" Jessica snaps.
"Your baby?"
"Yeah?"
"You said Your baby."
"Well she is! As long as she's still in my body she's mine."
Sarah just looks at Jessica.
"Sarah, you don't understand. I didn't want this baby just a few months ago. If I could have had an abortion, I would have, but I couldn't. Even then I Still did not want this child. I hated the thought of carrying around a piece of that disgusting man. I didn't want to have His baby.... But I'm not. She's My baby." Jessica tears up. "She's not his, she'll never be his... She's way too good for that evil, sick man. She has no part of him. She's mine and mine only. I have spent every day with her. I feel every single movement this little girl makes. She knows me like no one has ever or will ever know me. At first her kicks reminded me of that man. But not anymore.. she has her own personality, and those little movements are magical to me.
I know I said I didn't want her but.. everyday I fall in love with her a little more."
"So what are you gonna do? Are you keeping her?"
Jessica looks down and gently rubs her thumb back and forth over her bump. "I can't keep her. I have to do what's best for her, and I'm not it. I can't be selfish right now. I'm a child. I can't even get a job to support her. I can't give her a loving home when I myself am not in one. If I keep her we'll both be in foster care, and I'm not going to do that. I want her to have everything I have always prayed for. I want her to have a home. A family."
Sarah listens as Jessica takes a moment to wipe her tears. "You know.. the two people I've dreamt of since I was little.. The beautiful mother, and handsome father coming through those doors and taking me to a gorgeous home.. that's all real, and I know that for sure. It's just not my dream.. It's Isla's.. or whatever they choose to call her, but for now she's Isla. I'm doing this for her. Not for me. If it were for me I'd keep her!"
"How are you going to give her away, Jess?"
Jessica pauses for a moment. "I know what it's like to live my life, and it sucks. That right there is enough. I'm giving her away because she doesn't deserve to have the life I live. She deserves to have it all."
"Well maybe you can still see her?"
"No." Jessica nods. "I couldn't do that, it'd be too hard. After I have her.. I'll say goodbye and tell her I love her." Jessica's voice shakes. "And then I'll hand her over to her parents. I hope they tell her how much I love her. I am doing something that will rip my heart apart. I love this little baby more than anything in the whole world. She's all I have really. Nothing in this world is mine. I go in and out of houses. I borrow this, and that. But this little girl." Jessica stares at her belly and rubs it gently. "She's all mine."
"Wow."
"What?" Jessica looks Sarah in the eyes.
"That's what being a parent is all about. Being selfless and thinking of your child first. Jess, you're such a good mom."
Jessica chuckles through her tears.
"I'm serious. You'll always be her mom no matter what. And she'll thank you one day for the amazing life you've given her."
Jessica smiles softly as tears silently pour down her face.
"Come here with your puffy pregnant self." Sarah hugs her.
Jessica laughs and hugs her back.
"I love you, Jess."
"I love you too."
Jessica suddenly laughs.
"What?"
"She's kicking. I guess she loves you too, aunt Sarah."
"Aunt Sarah?" She smiles. "I love the sound of that!"
Jessica laughs as Sarah touches her stomach and talks to the baby.
"You're so sweet, Isla! You know.. you're lucky kid. Your mommy loves you so much. It's crazy how much she loves you."
Jessica smiles and wipes her cheek as she says, "I do love you, baby. I'm sorry I didn't in the beginning. As time has gone on I realized you aren't him. Not even a little bit. You're so sweet, and I'm sorry for the things I've said in the past. When I first found out I was pregnant, I was scared. I still am, but.. little girl, you've made me stronger than I ever could have imagined.... Giving you away will be the hardest thing I'll ever have to do." Jessica cries softly.
Sarah reaches over and holds her friend. She knew Jessica was going to have a hard time saying goodbye to this little one.
