Roman's POV

"I love you babe."

"I love you too mate." I say and wait for him to end the call. When it ends, I sigh and drop it on the bed as I fall right next to it.

"This is it." Lyn mumbles and I nod.

She is referring to us finally turning the age of 18 tomorrow. A lot of things will be happening after tomorrow and my life will change to what it will be from then on.

"And we are ready for the change."

"Yes Lyn, we are ready."

It wasn't easy living away from my Ken after getting a taste of living together but I managed. I left a week after his father's funeral even though I wanted to stay with him longer. I realized if I didn't leave then, I would have always made excuses for it.

My relationship with Ken has strengthen during the time I've been away. He visited me every weekend and I found myself looking forward to every visit. Then their was the calls coming in every night at 21:00. I am not sure how he managed to call on time everyday and one of this daily calls is the one that has just ended minutes ago. We talk about his day and mine, sharing our day's events just so the other should at least know what's happening in your daily life. For Ken it was mostly about him working his butt off which he referred to as cleaning the kingdom for when I go back to find it clean. He was getting rid of his mother's followers in the kingdom.

Only from yesterday, when he called me, he told me that he had been attending meetings with the council about my oncoming coronation as the ruler beside him. He attended the same meetings today and he told me they came to an agreement about how things will be done. Ken will tell me about the meetings in detail tomorrow when he comes to see me since it is both the weekend and my birthday.

A knock at the door sounds and I call in whoever it is to come inside.

"Baby you should get some sleep, it's late." Mama says when he takes a seat beside me on the bed.

"I'm not sleepy ma."

"What's wrong?"

I sigh and move myself until I'm resting my upper body on his lap. He runs his hand in my hair and I close my eyes, loving the feeling.

My parents, Elijah and Kacper, as well as EJ came yesterday afternoon. They want to take part in my birthday tomorrow and I am happy they came.

"Let's get you in bed."

"Mama can you sleep with me tonight?" I ask.

"Okay baby." He agrees and together we get comfortable on the bed.

I was taken away from my mother at a young age and I know it wasn't easy for him to let me go. Though it isn't pleasant to admit but my parents did miss my growing up moments. They did their best calling and sometimes visiting on my birthdays but there were times when they couldn't call or visit. I didn't hold it against them because where they couldn't be, my family here; mama C, papa D, DJ, Amber, CJ and Charles, made sure I felt home with love and care.

The door opens and mama C walks in. I scoot over to mama so that I make some space for mama C to lie down with us. Tonight I want to sleep in the comfort of my mothers because from tomorrow onwards, I'll only be sleeping by my mate. With the thought of Ken in mind, I sleep with a smile and content feeling.

I open my eyes with a gasp at how hot I feel. I throw off the blanket covering me and groan when someone touches me. My eyes are too heavy to keep them open so I close them and moan when I'm touched again.

"Go and see if the package hasn't arrived yet. I'll carry him to the bathroom." Mama tells someone and then I feel myself being carried off the bed.

I sigh in relief when I feel the heat lessening but it was still there, just bearable. I was told how my heat experience would be and that everyone faces his own experience. Sometimes it can be bearable and sometimes it comes so heated in which pills don't work to sate it but only the knot of your mate. I hope the pills will work for me because it's not in my plan to mate with my Ken on this day or the two days coming. My mate and I planned to do our mating while I'm not in heat. With what I know and heard about it, I'd rather experience my first time while without the heat effects. That's why my Ken will be coming in the evening just to make sure I get myself together by then. I yawn and then find myself sleeping once again.

The next time I open my eyes my body feels fine except when my stomach grumbles demanding to be fed. I get up and get dressed so that I can get downstairs for breakfast. The door opens when I'm wearing my shoes and I look up to see my mama smiling at me.

"Happy birthday baby."

I smile and get up to give him a hug. I smell some food on him meaning he was either in the kitchen cooking or just around food and it makes my stomach grumble once again, making him laugh and pull away from me.

"Let's get you some food. You slept all morning and since it's afternoon, I became worried that you will sleep your birthday away so I came to wake you up." He holds my hand and pulls me out of the bedroom.

"It's afternoon? Oh my! Are my friends here? What about CJ? They all said they will be here by morning."

Mama stops and gives me an apologetic smile. I frown wondering what's wrong.

"Your friend's called and said they won't make it by morning but they will be here in the evening. CJ is on his way here though. That's why I didn't wake you up in the morning."

"Oh. Okay." I nod and smile which my mama returns then we walk down the stairs together.

I'm disappointed my friends didn't make it by morning like they had promised. I planned to celebrate the day from day to dawn but I guess just the evening will be fine. I'll just spend the afternoon with my family an--

"SURPRISE!!!!"

I yelp and miss the last step which makes me fall forwards. I close my eyes waiting for the impact but someone holds my body before I face plant. I'm helped to catch my footing and stand upright then look around me.

"Really guys?" I ask and cheers, claps, whistles and laughter sounds all around me.

"Excuse me!" A voice sounds among the people and they part to give who shouted some way to pass.

Noah pushes a trolley where a big cake is placed inside. He stops before me just as everyone starts singing the happy birthday song. I few tears of happiness leak down my face and I remove them with my hands, a big smile on my face. I shout 18 when they ask how old I am and they continue singing it until the end.

"Make a wish!" Someone shouts and I chuckle.

I blew the candles with a smile as CJ appears with a knife to give it to me so that I can make the first cut. They cheer when I cut then my friends come forward for a group hug.

The birthday party officially begins and we all head outside for a much space environment to fit everyone. I sit by a table and mama sets down a plate of food for me. I start eating while looking around as children run around happily, some elders dancing, others eating and others charting.

"Hey Rome." CJ greets and sit opposite me.

"Hi CJ. How is your family?"

"They are all fine. Sadie is growing up really fast you can't believe she's only months old." He smiles and look in the direction where I see Zach carrying the baby while charting with his friends.

"That's great." I say honestly.

"Will you come dance with me?" A deep voice, my brother's, ask behind me as he approaches the table.

"I don't dance with any other King but my mate. I'll have to deny your request my king." I reply to him with a bow.

"Ha ha ha. Very funny."

I smile and look at CJ who gives a nod so I get up and place my hand in my brother's. EJ leads me to where people are dancing and we start dancing together. He has finally take over as King from dad and our parents will be living in the secret pack once they leave here. We exchange small talks and then just dance in silence.

"Can I cut in?" His voice sends a shiver down my spine and I bit my lip.

"Yes you can." EJ says then turns me around to face my mate who gives me a smile.

"Surprise." He murmurs and I smile.

He nods at EJ as he takes my hand and then place another on my waist. I place mine on his shoulder then we start dancing slowly with our gaze locked on each other.

"Happy birthday babe."

"Thanks. You look great." I reply and he smirks and wink at me, speeding up my heart beats.

The rest of the day is spent with me popping up pills now and then. I play games with my friends, my favorite being when we had to compete in pairs with our mates. It was a great game.

Some people starts leaving after dinner and some stay the night. I walk up to my room exhausted and take a bath before bed. A knock sounds on my door when I'm about lie on the bed and I call them to come in.

"Hey babe." My Ken smiles entering the room. He pecks my lips before taking a seat on the bed. "We have to talk."

"What is it?" I ask while sitting on the bed too.

"About the meetings. Next week Saturday like today, we will have our mating ceremony. This ceremony is new for you so the council will send you a teacher to teach you what it will be about before Saturday."

"Is it okay?"

"Yeah. You will love it and I chose it myself. The other ceremonies were not something you and I could do so I chose the one that I knew was okay for us."

"Alright then."

"I have to get going though. I'll see you on Saturday but we will be talking throughout the week." He leans forward and kisses me before getting up to leave.

"I love you." I whisper.

"I love you too Roman."

I watch him walk out of the room and I slump down on the bed with a smile. Today's events was more than I wished for and I appreciated every second I spent with friends, family and my love. I wish Nate was here because I miss him but I know he was watching from a far and he will always be watching. I didn't expect it for Ron to be mated again and to my brother Charles. They are still facing problems but Ken assured me that things will work out for them sooner or later.

I've come to terms about the curse on me to befall my first child and I won't let that come in my way to have a family with Ken. We will find a way to make it work in every hardships our child may face. But first of all we have to get on with the mating ceremony and everything will come in time after that.

How was the party?

I know I said the epilogue was coming next but it didn't feel right. It is coming next after this and I'm already half way done. The truth is, this was part of the epilogue but I didn't like how long the chapter was so I halved it. So expect it in a anytime.
