I chewed on my food slowly, looking around the table at other's disappointed faces as they continued eating. The silent dread on their faces about the man sitting next to me, oblivious to their gaze.

Noah glanced at me and our eyes met for a second, we both shared a look before going back to our food.

It was supposed to be a fun brunch. Early mojitos and some Mexican food and talking shit about stupid things But with Zenon next to me. Nobody dared speak.

I hated this. I was looking forward to Sunday brunch. I hardly had any friends and when Noah invited me I was so happy.

"So anyone got any plans after this? I was planning on getting high," Noah spoke.

I almost choked on my drink tryna hold my laughter back.

"It's 1 in the afternoon Noah-" Violet was cut off by him again.

"Well the early I'll go to bed for tomorrow babe"

She huffs rolling her eyes.

My eyes shifted to the door seeing Kyle and his girlfriend walk in. I smiled waving at her as they walked towards us.

Noah whips his head around with his mouth still full of food.

"oh great who invited the love birds"

Zenon did. But he was busy eating.

"You need one more?"

My legs clenched shut as his lips almost touched my ear while asking me. His hand rested behind my back on the couch as he leaned back with his drink.

"Ya....probably another one.." I said lifting my drink and he nodded calling for the waiter.

"So..what plans?" Kyle asked as the waiter brought an extra chair for him.

"Smoke up and die" Sky breaks the silence earning a light laughter from us.

Kyle snickers shaking his head.

I glance at Zenon who was looking out the window in silence.

I didn't want him to smoke anything.  I was wondering whether to join them.

"So decided? We will get the stuff you guys go ahead. The back side of river park."  Sky stated.

" Isn't that closed off?"

I felt my heart flutter as Zenon slipped his hand which was behind my back moments ago, over my thigh. Squeezing it slightly and continued with the new drink the waiter had bought us.

"I know the guard..." 

Their voices sort of faded the second my mind focused on him. 

I gulp feeling turned on by what he did. Sitting between these people and feeling that made me embarrassed. I hated when he did that. He knew I liked it.

I grabbed the drink but tipped off the garnish making me gasp softly.

I give a sheepish smile as Noah laughs while I pick up the garnish and keep it on my finished plate.

"You feeling tipsy?"

He kept doing it. Talking to me in my ear. His breath would brush against my ear slightly making me feel goosebumps over my neck. His hand would slip just an inch up my thigh and deeper into my inner thigh. It made me sit straight up and try to avoid that feeling.

"Huh? No. I'm fine." I stutter.

"Are you fucken drunk?" Noah almost yelled at me catching everyone's attention.

"No, I'm not!" I grunt. My brows creased while my face held a frown. I felt Zen's eyes turn to Noah in a not-so-inviting way. 

"Why is your face red?" He asked again.

I was utterly confused as Violet smirked looking away.

I tucked the hair strand beside my eye behind my ear and gave Noah a look of anger.

Violet thought and Zenon and I had a thing going on. I couldn't explain to her what was going on nor would I bother.

It was complicated...as they thought.

And there we stood in the middle of a fucking forest. Well, it wasn't a forest. A park. Abandon and restricted. We sat at the gazebo filled with creepers and dust. Dried wilted leaves everywhere. It was creepy.

I sigh starting at the far off side towards the mountains far away.

"here" Sky offers and I stare at it before glancing at Zenon who is busy texting on his phone.

I take one swig before handing it back.

"You said you wouldn't-"
I freeze before puffing out the smoke as everyone looks at Zenon.

"It's not a whole joint." Sky states before passing it to Zenon and I turn my whole body towards him stopping Sky.

"Not him."

Zenon had a look as his eyes, dull, neutral face but fierce eyes and they lifted to look at me as Sky retreats his hand slowly.

I couldn't put my finger on it but I assumed he was angry. 

I didn't quite enjoy it this time. Zenon was like the sore thumb of my fun. I know everyone was holding a lot of things back because they didn't wanna anger him.

On some topics, Noah flirting and joking, Sky would always come to sit beside me and we would talk about movies and games. But they didn't dare do it in front of Zenon.

I hate feeling like that.

I took another puff before walking towards a nearby river and taking my time admiring the water before he came behind me.

"Let's go back home, Josie"

There it was. That desperate voice of his. He was needy again.

"Zen. I only get Sunday to myself. I wanna roam around and have fun."

I spoke up. I knew he didn't care. But maybe telling him would help. I wanted him as much as he needed me. But for a Sunday. I wanted to spend time with my friends.

"You will smoke and just waste your time let's go back. Have pizza? I want you."

His voice moved closer and his hands wrapped around my waist. I gulp feeling my heart swell up.

I turned around kissing him on his cheek to reassure him.

"we will. Just let me have some time to myself please?"

Soft talking was the only way he listened. One wrong word and he would get mad. I wasn't looking forward to that.

"Please?" I ask again as he gives out a sigh looking away. I thought he gave up but as I grabbed him by my throat and crashed his lips on mine I gave up. Kissing him back because If I didn't he would be mad. 

"You're still tipsy Joesie. You better fucken behave and leave when I ask." 

I nodded having no strength to argue.
