Five

"Iris, did Nathan's treatment work?" Asked Lydia happy.

"No, there's no way it worked just yet. I still have much more to do. Maybe she's getting some help." Nathan glared at Offender.

"Jason! Can I talk to you real quick?" Asked Henry. He nodded and walked over.

"You had a good dream last night huh?" Asked Nathan who walked up behind me.

"Yes, your treatment has to be working."

"I know it's not just my doing. I will wait to treat you tomorrow just to be sure. I wouldn't steal a good dream from you." He whispered into my ear.

"Don't think I don't know who Jason is Iris, you know what I am."

He seemed annoyed but I brushed it off.

Offender was occasionally staring at me, and I did to him. "Oh my God just kiss already!" Yelled Michael.

"Michael we can't do that we just meet yesterday." I reply.

"Well I ship it." Said Lydia.

Nathan glared at Offendy, I knew it wasn't good after the spark clashed in his eye.

"Alright, do you think you've got it?" I ask Offender in human form, he looked like teenage Victor.

"No Mrs.Weesner is crazy, all the teachers are crazy." He complained. I laugh and he just stared.

"Are you okay?" I ask smiling at him as he tried deserting the gaze.

"Yeah, it's just," he paused sighing. "I don't know."

"Nathan said something to you didn't he?"

He seemed to say yes with the worry in his eyes. "Yes he did. I want to tell you so much but, put simply, I can't."

"Your wanting to tell me that he's a Dreamer Demon." I reply.

He sucked in his breath.

"You knew?"

"He told me the first day he meet me, the day he was appointed to rid of the NighTerrors. I've known, everyone knows he calls himself a demon but I'm the only one who knows that he real him."

He looked off slightly. "I see."

I stared at him. "What?" He asked

"You just don't look right, I know who you are and yet you hide it. Come on out."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Don't get mad if I look down on you." He looked like rippling water slowly changing his form to one of that of a monster, but I saw something more.

He smiled down to me. "Much better."

"You aren't scared?"

"No, besides I meet this face when we made our deal."

"Deal, uh, right."

"Anyway, do you think you have everything?" I ask him.

"Yep."

He picks up his bag and swings it on his back. "Hey,"

"Yes?" He asks turning around.

"Can you stay here tonight? It's pretty late."

"Your version of late is 7:13." He laughed.

"Well I don't want Nathan to find you, besides your home is upstate."

He smiled and nodded. "Okay, I'll stay."

I smile. "Make yourself at home, I'm taking a shower okay?"

"Alright."

-OffenderMan POV-

She grabbed a towel and walked to another room. I just watched her leave and then I fall backward into her bed. How it smelled like her. Then I heard something fall of the book shelf beside me. A photo album opened and showed a picture of her birthday. Her first day on earth.

Using my tendril I close the book and carry it to my lap. As I open it again the same picture was there. Her brown thin hair, with grey eyes. As I flipped the pages her life had so much color and light into it. She had a sister, a mother and father too. She has a older brother. He was a Cornell for the USS Navel Fleet in 1997. They where close too. I could tell in the picture of him holding her in his arms like a princess when her leg was broken back in 1998.

I then flip the page, a tomb stone with the name Xos. Which was a grim reaper name. Her brother, was dead. "I see you found my brothers page." Said Iris as she walked in with wet blonde hair. And fuzzy pj pants and a oversized ACDC shirt.

"Your brothers dead." I reply as she sat down next to me. An she moved her hair to show a tattoo on the back of her neck. "I lost him on 9/11. He was in the pentagon." She said. I sighed and flipped the next page. Her brothers medals, and a part of his burned awards.

"I'm sorry, you looked really close."

She nodded. "We were," tears lining her eyes. As she smiled half heartedly. "He didn't like me being home by myself when my family was away. Now I'm used to it."

"When will they be back?"

She stayed silent for a moment. "They've been gone for years, they left me three years ago."

My eye muscles widened and stared at the girl. She was 15 when they left her. What kind of parents do this? She sighed and climbed into bed, slipping of a set of dog tags and hanging them on a hook beside her head. She got comfortable and didn't move afterword. I slipped of my over coat and folded it up and set it on the drawers top.

Climb in behind her and listen to her breathing. I couldn't kiss her, Nathan would get suspicious. I would have to leave before her also. Damn him, damn the demon named Nathan.
