Staring and Surprise
Jasper
Artemis' POV
I stiffen before I pull away, though not too far, scared that if I do, I'll have been imagining it. When I pull back, and my sense begin to recover from finding my Knot, I realize that the voice is in fact familiar, though it sounds more mature and strong than the last time I had seen her when she was fourteen.
"Briana." I whisper, my hands going up to brush her hair away from her face, chocolate brown eyes looking up at me in awe and confusion.
"You... I thought I remembered your name. You're the Princess... You're my Knot." She says, her eyebrows coming down to rest in clear confusion over what's going on but I couldn't care less who she is.
"I thought I was going to be stuck with an annoying stupid boy that couldn't keep his prick in his pants." I mutter, my kind still stuck on her barely listening to the words falling from her lips and more so to the way they form around her words that fall softly from her lips, and I don't fail to notice the way that she's holding on to me too, my heels giving me an extra two inches on top of the few I have on her already, though her hips and curves more than make up for it. "You're beautiful." I whisper.
I watch as her tan skin warms and she looks away and it makes me smile a bit. The Bri I remember was head strong and independent refusing to take shit from anyone even her brother, despite her young age.
"You're all grown up." She notices and I laugh a bit to myself as I shrug.
"Ahh, twenty one isn't that old. You're practically a baby, miss eighteen," I tell her teasingly and she scoffs.
"I turn nineteen in two months, your highness." She sasses me and I grin at her, unable to stop my eyes form roaming her face until it finally clicks who I'm talking to. I turn towards Chelsea who's standing off to the side with tears in her eyes as she hugs herself happily.
"How..? THIS is the cousin you were talking about?" I ask her and things begin to click together, remembering how she told me she was bringing her cousin over to visit the castle today.
I was supposed to meet her anyway, but the thought that my best friends cousin in my Knot, as well as one of my childhood friends sister is a lot to take in.
"Yes. Now aren't you glad that I annoyed her as much as I did?" Chelsea asks me and ai turn back to Bri, the wind blowing my hair into my eyes and I watch as her hand comes up to push it out of the way with a roll of her eyes.
"Perhaps." I answer Chelsea.
"I guess." Bri responds and it makes me chuckle as I continue to look at her.
"Stop staring I'm not one of your fancy pieces of artworks." She scolds me, pulling out of my grasp, but I notice that she doesn't go very far making me smile to myself.
"Still as snarky as always." I tell her fondly and she rolls her eyes at me. I feel Chelsea begin to shift uncomfortably and I turn towards her with raised brows.
"Maybe we should go somewhere more private. This could put the two fo you in danger." She tells me and I groan and curse under my breath as I realize what this means. Bri was the only thing holding me back from getting the crown. I'm sure there's more people now than ever who want their share in power and will be willing to go through the two of us, especially her to get what they want.
"I'm not worried about a bunch of people in tutus and nasty armor." Bri says with a roll of her eyes and I raise my brow at her and touch her nose making her smack my hand away.
"And that will be your down hall. Let's get to my rooms. You two walk together and we'll stick to the story of anyone asks. Long lost cousin coming to visit." I tell them and Chelsea nods while Briana rolls her eyes though she doesn't say anything against it.
I reluctantly step back a few steps and I watch her frown and try to follow me before she catches herself.
"Cute." I tell her and she scoffs and folds her arms not looking at me as she does so and it makes me laugh to myself. I turn away from the two of them and listen closely to make sure they're behind me and they begin talking about some Earth thing or other that I simply ignore as I watch our surroundings. I take them through the rainbow tunnel and reach the door surrounded by one way glass, unable to see in, only out.
Once we get inside we begin making our way from the back part of the castle towards the third floor where my rooms are.
We don't see anyone of importance on our way there only a few maids and a guard or two, but right as we get on the last floor that holds Jasper and I's room, I come face to face with my brother and Percy who look like they just got done with doing the unmentionable... again.
"Artemis, you look lovely." Percy tells me with a bow and I curl my lip and gag at the smell coming from the two of them.
"You smell like a brothel." I tell them and Jasper shrugs as he pushes his hands into his pockets and stands her as if bored with a conversation that just started. I can feel Chelsea and Briana behind me and while I hope they don't catch anyone's interest, of course it would have to be the biggest whores in the castle.
"My, my hello, little lady. My name is Percy, it's nice to meet you." My advisor introduces himself and I can feel myself getting annoyed that it would have to be these two that we run into.
"That's nice. I don't care." I hear Briana respond and I smile to myself, grateful that she doesn't like people, making my territorial side a bit more easy to handle.
"Move boys, we have things to discuss." Chelsea says swatting at the hand Jasper is trying to reach out and touch Bri with and I smack him upside the head before the three of us love around him.
"Pervert." I grumble as we pass and the two men laugh to each other before they continue down the hallway without any further questions.
We finally get to my room and I clock the door before I grab Briana and pull her into my chest, her brown eyes looking up at my gold ones in surprise. "If anyone in this castle tries to flirt with you, or even dares to touch you, you have my permission to try and kill them. I would hate to have to get my hands dirty." I tell her, not liking the idea of everyone in the castle fawning after her.
Briana snorts and rolls her eyes before pulling away from me. "Thats if I stick around the castle. I like to travel, Art you know that." She tells me and I frown, but before I can open my mouth as she goes to sit next to Chelsea and her cousin speaks up.
"You guys are Knotted. What the heck this is amazing. Art we'll actually be family now." She gushes and I laugh as I nod, sitting down in the chair across from them even as my fingers itch to draw Brianna closer, not understating why she's trying to keep her distance.
"We've been family for years, I hardly doubt this will change how we are with each other." I tell her and she nods her thread thoughtfully. "There is one thing I refuse to do, however."
"What's that?" Chelsea asks me and I look over at Bri and cringe.
"Someone has to tell Alex."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well they finally met and had a conversation. Did you expect for Art to be so territorial? Why do you think Bri is acting the way that she is? What do you think Alex is gonna say?
