Untold Nightmares/2/

Hours passed into days and days into a week. It is now time for Sadiya to go back to school. She is at her final year in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria otherwise know as ABU Zaria. She's studying Business Administration.

She gave her bag one last check with her then closed it. She didn't take much clothes because she already has a lot of them there.

She walked downstairs with a maid behind her holding the suitcase while she hung her satchel bag on her left shoulder.

She entered her dad's parlour while the house help made her way to the car parked outside.

"Salamu alaykum" she said entering with her right leg. Her mom and dad answered simultaneously as she made her way to the couch opposite to theirs.

"Daddy I'm going back to school today as you know" he nodded in response as he sat up clearing his voice.

"Saadiya, this is not the first time I'm telling you this, please and please, if you know that those nightmares still disturb you, you can tell me. You don't necessarily have to stay in the hostel"

"Daddy I'm perfectly fine" she forced out a smile.

Both of her parents gave her some words of advice which she listened attentively to.

"Toh... It's time already. Allah ya tsare(may Allah protect you)." Mommy said as soon as Saadiya wanted to enter the car. She hugged her tight closing her eyes briefly to enjoy the moment. They weren't really close but still had this mother-daughter connection.

They released each other then she moved to daddy and hugged him too. Tears were threatening to spill but she wouldn't let them. She had to be strong, well..or so she thought.

"Daddy, mommy goodbye. I'll call you when I reach there" she smiled

Her siblings were escorting her so they were already waiting for her in the car.

Oops..my bad! How did I even forget? Introduction!

Halimatu Saadiya Muhammad Isa is a young lady of nineteen years. She's studying business administration in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Her dad, Dr Muhammad Isa is a member of the Parliament, representing North East. While her mom, Firdausi Isma'il Harun is the owner of M&M apparels located in Kaduna

Saadiya has four siblings, and she's the third born. Hafiz and Hanifa, the twins being the first, followed by Nana Khadija whom they call ya Nana and finally, Aasim, the baby of the house. He had currently visited his uncle in Abuja to spend the holiday.

Ya Hanifa will be getting married soon but the wedding date was yet to be fixed. While Ya Nana was serving in the Northern part of Nigeria, Zamfara to be precise. Yaya Hafiz was working as a manager in a site construction office.

She got into the car and the driver zoomed off. She opened her phone and played candy crush. That's basically the only thing she does with her phone. She's not into any social media except for WhatsApp and that's because she has to contact her course mates anytime they had an assignment or project.

She sighed and got out of the car as her skin got in contact with Zaria's scorching sun. She quickly used her hand to block the sun rays from affecting her as she brought out her sunglasses. As she put it on, the driver quickly handed her an umbrella which she collected almost immediately.

She called the person that normally takes her belongings to the hostel and he came. He started taking them little by little while she talked to her siblings.

By the time he finished delivering her clothes, her siblings decided it was time for them to leave. She hugged each of them knowing that she'll miss them despite the fact that they don't even talk.

She got to her room and before she could say a thing, her friend, Hamida hugged her tightly.

"Sadyy I missed you so much. I never thought that you'll coke back today. I thought you'll wait till tomorrow" she rambled still hugging Saadiya.

"Okay okay. Personal space" Saadiya said pushing Hamida back whilst smiling widely. She had really missed her friend a lot. Hamida was her only friend since she came to the school. She was the only that knows about the cause of her nightmares and Hamida, being a good friend, was always there for her, she stood up at night with her Saadiya, praying for Allah to ease whatever was worrying her.

Hamida spanked her head as she dragged her to her bed. They sat on it and started gisting about everything that had happened. Suddenly, their roommate, Modupe, came in. Modupe was that type of student that was really bad. She missed classes, bribed teachers for marks, goes to clubs and all.

She had been trying to get close to Hamida and Saadiya but the both of then were really trying to avoid her. It seems like she had noticed and stopped attempting to befriend them.

"Hi girls" she said walking towards her own bed.
"Hey" they replied

"How was the holiday? Mine was absolutely exciting. Did you know that I went to Dubai? Like my dad paid for all of us and we went. It was absolutely fun. What about you? Where did you go to?"

Now this is another part of Modupe that they both hated. She lies a lot. And also liked gossip. The truth is that she didn't go anywhere. Hamida knew because her dad owned the house Modupe and her family lived in. Her dad is a tenant and he even begged Hamida's dad to give him time to pay because he currently had no money with him and the rent was just one million, five hundred thousand naira.

So you can tell me how someone who couldn't pay 1.5 million naira be able to afford a trip to Dubai for one person, talk more of a family of seven!

Hamida just laughed and shook her head while Saadiya sighed. She didn't know whether Modupe was saying the truth or not, all she knew is that she had no time for any rubbish.

"My holiday was absolutely fine. I spent it at home, with my family members" Saadiya smiled warmly

"You can't tell me that. Didn't you go anywhere? Like overseas?" Modupe said now sitting on a bean bag that belonged to Hamida making Hamida eye her but she shrugged it off.

"Oh yes. I visited the orphanage to donate some clothes and also gave them foodstuffs" Hamida said smiling as she remembered the day she visited them. The kids were smiling so brightly and were jumping up and down in sheer happiness.

"Is that all?" Modupe said looking bored
"Yes. It was one of the best things I had done in my life" Hamida squealed like a child.

"What about you?" Modupe said looking at Saadiya
"I told you that I didn't go anywhere. Since you went to Dubai, you can tell us what happened over there" Saadiya snirked looking at Hamida through the corner of her eye and caught her smiling naughtily.

"Well.....I have to rest. You know I came from a far place" Modupe said taking fast long strides to her bed making Saadiya and Hamida chuckle.

"I'll gist you guys when I wake up" she yelled from where she was.

Modupe will never change!
