As Jake walked out of the classroom, he heard the song 'Superman' by Five for fighting playing as he walked towards his homeroom. It was one of his favourites. It was coming from Lucas's classroom. Lucas stuck his head out and smirked at Jake. "Jake why did my brother Lucas smirk at you?" Jake jumped, he had forgotten Esperenza was following him. "I-I don't know E-espy."

"Espy?"

"Cr-" Jake was cut off before he could curse by Esperenza looking at him strangely. Her barb was flicking  back and forth causing unsuspecting dragons to scatter.

"You haven't called me that since preschool." Esperenza's eyes held a funny emotion, it was like excitement and happy had fused together. Jake wondered why her eyes held that.

"Oh I-I haven't?" Jake blushed bright pink and Esperenza stepped back, shock and excitement filling her gaze. "S-sorry..."

"Yeah you haven't, and there's no need to apologize, Jakey, I adored the nickname and still do." Jake blushed harder, as Esperenza's excited voice reached his ears.

Does she know? Is that why she's excited?

"Well let's go back to homeroom for our free period," said Esperenza starting to walk forward and Jake suddenly felt calmer, he still felt nervous but it had dulled a bit. Esperenza seemed to enjoy them walking together. Then he heard voices behind him.

"They're walking together, I wonder what it means." Jake instantly recognized his twin's voice.

"I don't know but-" Jake cut Selena off.

"I-IT MEANS N-NOTHING, E-EVERYTHING'S FINE!" He smiled awkwardly and raced ahead.

Jake felt Mallory's eyes burn into his back.
