Mallory's heart seemed to race as she walked with Selena, out of the prey center. As soon as they rounded a corner they saw a SeaWing putting up a scroll. When he was finished, the duo walked up to the scroll and Mallory felt her heart sink and rise rapidly. The scroll read: Prom this Sunday, bring a date, sexuality doesn't matter! Mallory looked at Selena and then down at her claws. She knew who she wanted to take but they would never accept.

"Oh wow, would you look at that," Selena chirped,"Sexuality doesn't matter? Harriet will be happy to see that."

And me, Mallory thought looking once again in Selena's direction. She started moving forward, and Selena had to run to catch up.

"Where ya going, Mal? Aren't you gonna put a name?"

Mallory lowered her head.
