it was November, 2002 and it was the annual   Barbone family Christmas dinner. all of all of the Barbone's family and friends were coming. it was a yearly tradition.  every year, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. all except Whitney Carole and Daphne Basenetti.  the four adults had all went to the same college together and were friends. Erin and Jacob had been dating since their seventh year of Magic school. they both seemed surprised when they ended up at the same college together. how they knew Whitney and Daphne was a different story. Erin, Jacob, and Daphne had been going to school together since the age of ten, but met Whitney at Princeton University. it was their freshman year of college, the three girls were in the same major, the medical field. Whitney had gotten along with both girls very quickly. but was always jealous of Erin and Jacob. and Daphne was not the best of friends of Erin because she had been dating Jacob from their second to fifth year at the institution of magic. she never did support the current couple and had always wanted something drastic to happen so she could get back Jacob. that never happened, of course. that was about twenty years ago. both girls still never got over Jacob even if he was married with three children, five year old twins named Brian and Alison, and a three year old boy named Ryan.  Erin, Jacob and the kids were one of the happiest families to live, that was until Daphne and Whitney got revenge.

    "Hey Whitney, do you like Jacob?" asked Daphne.

    "Of course i do how did you ever doubt that."

    "I didn't. but i just got i great idea for revenge that i think you will like. i was thinking, since you are non-magical and i am the opposite, i was thinking that i could brew up a love potion for you to give to Jacob, then he will leave Erin and come to you. and i know what you are going to say. no. i do not have a crush on Jacob any more. i'm with walker now, we just got engaged a few days ago. remember? so this potion i am making will look like just an ordinary soda, but when you give it to Barbone, he will confess his undying love for you in front of everyone and leave Erin. how do you like that idea." she said smirking, while raising her eyebrows at her partner in crime.

    "wow Daph, that sounds like a great idea. Jacob will be all mine, and we finally will get revenge on Erin. How about i give him the potion at their stupid Christmas Feast. that will be a great moment to embarrass Erin. so, come on and start brewing that potion."

    "Okay little miss impatient i'm brewing, i'm brewing." she said with a slight frown. Sheesh, she seriously has not gotten over him, and it's been twenty years. am i seriously having second thoughts about this potion. i don't want to loose Erin. she is such a wonderful friend. and Whitney is always so demanding. oh! iv'e got a wonderful idea. instead of making this potion last forever, i will just  change the potion up a little bit so that it will wear off after a couple years. yes, yes. this will work. i will add in half a unicorn tail, and the potion will eventually wear off, causing the Barbone family to reunite, and get the annoying brat Whitney embarrassed for life.

     but then the brat interrupted her thoughts "Oh. my. gosh. what is taking you so long? ugh!"

    "huh? what? oh, i just finished."

    "well, come on, the party will be starting soon. hurry up." the two girls showed up just in the nick of time the feast was about to begin. everyone then started to thank Erin and Jacob for the feast. then it was Daphne and Whitney's turn to wish people a merry Christmas. "attention everyone, attention, i know this is Jacob and Erin's special night. it's the what? fifteenth anniversary of this feast but Daphne has something huge to share. oh and Jacob, before i forget, here is your favorite type of soda. the type my uncle makes in his muggle factory.  now go ahead Daph."

        "thanks Whitney," said Jacob

        "okay, well i have some really life changing new to tell you all, Walker and i, well we, we are engaged!" she cried out in joy. everyone started to clap, and Jacob got caught off guard by the news, and spit out some of big gulp of the potion all over his dinner. Whitney and Daphne immediately looked over at him, Whitney smirking, he will be all mine in just a few minutes. while Daphne just looked over at him in shock. oh no. what have i done!? he spit out the part that had the unicorn tail in it! now he might  just  be under the potion for the rest of his life. oh my gosh! what have i done. i am SUCH a terrible person. will never forgive myself. i am so so so sorry Erin and Jacob. all of the sudden a chair pushed intensively hard on the floor. a full grown Jacob Barbone stood up and raced over to Whitney. she just smirked like a mad woman

    "oh whitney, i am so sorry. i love you and only you. no one else. please forgive me. run away with me. we can get married, i will forget this life. please, i beg you." he got down on both knees and started to beg her to death. Whitney just smiled at him pulled him up to his full height and smashed her lips into his in front of everyone. there were many gasps and a sob from Erin. she sprinted to the door and then paused.

why am i going to my room? this is my house too. this is highly unacceptable. he is the one who is going to leave and hide. NOT ME!!

    " Barbone, Carole is absolutely not going to stay in MY house. leave. both of you. now. and don't EVER come back. you are not welcome hear."

    "what?! you can not kick me out of my own home."

    "i just did!"

    "fine! come on Whitney! let's go." and with that they stormed out of the barbone mansion hand in hand.
