"You can't keep doing this."
The car took a left, the boy behind the wheel signaling his blinker. He sighed deeply, not bothering to look at the slumped figure in the seat beside him.
"I know."
"Than stop it!"
The girl beside him flinched at her brothers harsh tone. She looked at him, his gaze locking with hers as they drove on silently.
"I'm sorry Nari."
"It's okay... your right. I just... I miss them, ya know? It's so..."
"Difficult?"
"Exactly." Nari smiled weakly at her brother, shifting in her seat. The soft patter of rain on the roof of the car soothing. Neither knew what to say, neither knew what to do. The silence enclosed the two.
The car ride was empty and silent as they drove through the moonlit streets, round white pearl flashing through the trees, road wet and rough. Headlights sometimes flashing by as they drove on. Always trying to find answers. The two kept driving.
Looking for something.
Anything.
An answer to it all.
An answer that would never be answered. No one would be able to repeat what had happened that year. It was out of hand. Things twisted and turned, the path getting darker as they went deeper. And people fell. Dragging down others with, or falling on their owns. Some just stopped, refusing to move past.
So the two decided to head out. And maybe try to find something for the unsettling feelings in their hearts and minds. It couldn't just end like that, could it?
What a cruel, unfair ending. An ending where there are no happy endings. Where no median is placed. Everything loops and connects and it stays real tight.
So they two kept driving.
On and on.
"The past is the past."
