Being a lyricist wasn't exactly an easy thing. The hardest part about it was finding the inspiration. Once that was achieved, the writing part wasn't too difficult.
Well, that's how it worked with Min Yoongi. As the lyricist and producer for a vocal group, he didn't usually have trouble finding inspiration. As it was plucked out from his daily life, he could write easily.
But, for some reason, today was different. Maybe it was because was on vacation? Although, he still had to write the lyrics and send them to his boss to get it accepted. So, it couldn't really be called a vacation.
He was out traveling, up in a cold part of Korea– not exactly the most populated area.
But, he'd heard it was quite beautiful, especially in the winter when it snows. And, being a person interested in photography, he couldn't resist the perfect chance.
Tired of staying inside the warmth of the lodge and seeking inspiration, Yoongi slowly stepped down the wooden steps, white puffs appeared in the air as he breathed.
The cold breeze grazed his cheeks, feeling as if a knife was piercing him. But, rather than the pain, it was the icy coldness.
He lazily walked towards the forest, dragging his feet.
After a few minutes, he was surrounded by snowy trees. He would've somewhat panicked about being lost, but he had his trail that he could follow back.
Just with himself and the deafening sound of silence, his mind danced around with different thoughts.
From writing lyrics, to his music production, to his photography, to his parents, and to Jimin.
Park Jimin.
That boy had his special way of always making into Yoongi's brain.
Not even noticing a little grin that formed on his own face, Yoongi kept walking, deeper into the woods, just lost in thoughts of the charming boy.
It was almost as if the trees represented the thoughts of Jimin; Yoongi was surrounded by it, completely and utterly lost in them.
The boy's smile, just the way his eyes crinkled, Yoongi couldn't get enough of it.
With the thought of wanting to see it again, he was brought back to reality. His mind snapped out of his thoughts. He hadn't even realized he'd walked this far.
A strong cold wind blew, moving the branches and making some snow sprinkle on him. Feeling too warm with his hands inside his pockets, he didn't bother to dust it off. He was more interesting in the new scenery that was presented to him.
There was an opening, a small area with no any trees, and a depression.
Shrugging, Yoongi didn't hesitate to walk towards it. If he'd come this far, he didn't see how it would hurt if he went any further.
When he reached the point where the slope started, he was mesmerized to see quite a wonderful scene.
It was a pond. Completely ice on the surface. It was quite small, too.
Wondering if the frozen surface could hold his weight, he slid himself down the slope with his feet, arriving just at the circumference.
He tapped the ice with his foot a few times, testing it. And finally, he put his weight on the foot that he'd stepped on the ice with.
With a satisfied smile, he stepped his other foot on, too.
Fully aware that this might lead him to slipping, falling, and puncturing his head while snapping his neck, he continued his steps onto the ice.
But, right now, almost intoxicated by the thoughts of the fluffy boy, he felt bubbly. He had this feeling in his chest, the constriction of happiness. He felt like he could overcome anything that came to him.
As he awkwardly– albeit carefully– walked around the ice, he felt quite content.
But, then he felt his right foot slip. Realization splashed him in the the form of dizziness that traveled from the scalp of his head to the tip of his toes about the fact that he would definitely fall.
And, he did.
It was almost majestic, except the fact he fell into a white bundle of snow. Or rather, what he thought was snow.
He expected to be welcomed with fluffiness of the snow, but he was met with the softness of a padded jacket.
Not even getting time to recover from the fall, he was completely startled, slightly distancing himself from the person. His eyes widened, looking at the figure lying down on the snow.
The man was in all white and facing the other way. He let out a moan along with a yawn.
He was asleep? Who can fall asleep in a place like this?
The person sat up, still facing away from Yoongi. The hood of the jacket fell off his head, revealing fluffy grey hair. It looked familiar.
"Ah—! It's cold~" The person spoke, putting his hood up again.
Yoongi's system filled with surprise as he recognized the voice. He couldn't believe this. He couldn't believe he was here.
"Ah, did someone fall on me–?" The boy mumbled as he turned around, finally facing the black haired man.
Seeing his face made Yoongi feel as if he was dreaming- maybe he was? Seeing Jimin here was definitely not the possibility he had thought of.
"Yoongi-hyung*..." Jimin muttered.
Another breeze blew, softly throwing Jimin's hood off again. But, Jimin didn't pay any mind to it, a bit busy trying to reach out hands to Yoongi's cheek.
Yoongi's mind was brought back to reality– which he still thought was a dream– feeling the cold stinginess on his cheek. He didn't get time to even process anything as Jimin just leaned forward. Yoongi's eyes fluttered close.
The coldness from the hand disappeared, his cheeks heating up just at the thought of kissing Jimin.
Feeling the cold lips press into his warm ones, he was put in a state of bliss. And, he never wanted to let go of it.
Just as he felt the cold chapped lips of Jimin almost fading away, Yoongi slightly opened his eyes and put his hand on the back of Jimin's neck, pulling him back in.
Once again, in euphoria, Yoongi's eyes snapped shut once again, this time moving his lips against Jimin's, still unaware that this was actually reality.
The younger let out a small squeal, but kissed back nonetheless.
The moment was only a moment, but for the pair, it was as if the time ticking from their watches were just sound of how long forever lasted for. The seconds- minutes that passed were just moments of eternity remaining, in the still thoughts of just each other's lips.
When they pulled back, both grinning like lovesick idiots, their heavy breaths puffing warmth into each other's faces.
Yoongi trailed his hand down from Jimin's neck to his hands that rested on his cheek.
"What are you doing here, Jiminie?" He whispered.
Jimin just let out a small laugh, making Yoongi's chest burst with bubbles of happiness.
"Hyung... I love you."
Yoongi's heart melted and also raced at the same time. He was sure this wasn't a dream, now. His heart was beating way too fast for it to be.
Yoongi gave Jimin a half-hearted judgmental look, "That's why your here?"
Jimin let out a loud laugh. "Yes, hyung. I wanted to see you. I missed you."
"What about the other three? Don't you have to join them with your group activities?" Yoongi asked, his cheeks flushed at what Jimin said.
"We're on a break. They went to their hometown. I came to visit you."
Yoongi let out a breath, extremely flustered about this whole situation.
Then, everything that happened just crashed down on him.
I just kissed Jimin. He just kissed me. We kissed.
And, I loved it. I loved every moment of it.
I love Jimin.
He took in a short breath, feeling the lyrics just awaiting to be written on his fingertips.
He quickly rummaged his pockets for the small notebook he brought and got it out. He checked his inner pockets for a pen and groaned in frustration when he couldn't find any.
"Here, Yoongi-hyung," Jimin held out a pen for him.
With a grateful smile, Yoongi accepted it. The cold now reaching his hands, his handwriting got a bit messy, but was still readable.
"Are you writing lyrics?" Jimin asked, taking a peek at the paper Yoongi was writing on.
"Mhm," Yoongi hummed, pouring every bit of feeling he got from this emotion of love onto the paper.
"What's the title?" Jimin questioned.
Yoongi replied, letting out a breath as he finished writing his mess of a mind, "It doesn't have one."
"So, it's untitled?"
Yoongi grinned, making Jimin grin back.
"Yeah," he answered.
Thinking about it for a second, he clicked his tongue.
"It's the untitled story of our love on ice."
