Chapter 11.

Practice was great, and over fast. After, Hank asked me if I'd like to go to Nemo's with him. I was hesitant to answer. What about Pavel? We hadn't made plans, but I still wanted to ask him.

"I'll get back to you after I've changed," I answered. This gave me time to text Pavel.

'Hey- Hank asked me if I wanted to go to the bar with him.'

I started typing into my phone, but stopped as Hank joked.

"Texting your boyfriend, girly?" I looked up to see him standing in front of me. Before I could answer someone wrapped their arm around my waist.

"No, she's texting her fiance." Jimmy Howard joked. "Did you like my text, honey?" he asked me.

I snorted. "Get off me, Jimmy." I said, stepping out of his arm.

He rolled his eyes. "I know you want me." he winked, walking off. I rolled my eyes, then went back to texting.

'Could I have the extra key I gave you please? I left mine at home.' I felt kinda rude doing this. I had left my keys at home, because Pavel usually let me in, then we hung out.

I paused for a second, debating whether to send it, but did in the end. Butterflies flew into my stomach as I waited for a reply.

I set my phone down and started stripping down. I took a quick shower, then put on some guys black basketball shorts, and a Lions shirt. I Ran a comb through my hair, then checked my phone.

'Sure. I left it in your locker under your bag.' Pavel's text read. I lifted up my bag to find a shining key. I looked around the locker room for Pavel, but couldn't find him. He must have already left. I sighed, then checked the other text.

'You coming? I'm in the parking lot waiting, if you are.' Hank texted me.

'Sure. I'll be out in a few.' I texted back, then threw my stuff into my bag.

Once I was done I slung my heavy bag over my shoulder, and started walking down the hall to the Players Parking lot.

On my way out I looked at myself in the mirror, just to make sure I looked alright. And I didn't. I looked horrid. I was soaked, which dripped onto my clothes, and my hair hung in my face. My clothes were baggy and ratty. I know I could't wear girly clothes, but...

How had I dressed like this for so long? I'd never been into fashion, but this was just absolutely terrible. Do I always look like this? If so, what does Pavel think? He could get super models, if he wanted. But he wastes his time with me. Why?

I really needed to stop dressing like this, and at least try something a little more.

I sighed, and headed out to the parking lot. I went to go put my bag in my car... but then it hit me. I groaned.

I didn't have a car! Pavel was my ride. How was I supposed to get home? I hitched my bag higher on my shoulder and headed over to Hank's car.

He popped the trunk for me to put my bags there, I did, then slid into the passanger seat.

"Realize you don't have a ride home?" snickered Hank. He must have been watching me.

I sighed. "Could you-"

"Sure." he responded before I could finish.

"Thank you!" Hank nodded, then changed the gear to reverse. We drove out of the parking lot, and made our way to Nemo's quickly, chatting the whole way.

We parked in the back parking lot, which was pretty empty, then made out way into the bar.

A few people sat around drinking and watching a baseball game that was on on one of the few TV's that were hanging around, but other than that it was pretty empty.

Hank and I sat down at the empty bar, and were instantly served by a young man. He looked as if he recognized Hank, but didn't say anything. I don't think he recognized me, though. Good.

He came back with our beers two minutes later, then our pink, juicy burgers came 10 minutes later, which we scarfed down.

Hank and I sat there talking for the next hour or so. We didn't talk about much that held importance, just random things that came to mind.

After, Hank and I got up, payed, which I made sure I did, because he was driving me home, then we left the bar, walking towards the car.

Getting into the passengers seat I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. An idea popped into my head. I mentally nodded at the plan.

When we were almost to my house the conversation fell silent. I knew this was the time and said, "Uhm, Hank?"

"Yeah?" he asked, questioningly.

"Uhm.. I kinda need your help." I stated, dumbly.

"Okay." he agreed. "With what?"

I cursed at myself. Awkward moment, this was going to be!

"..guy stuff.." I said quietly, sighing softly.

"Guy stuff, eh?" snickered Hank. "Like what?" We suddenly turned right and stopped. I looked out the window to see we were in the driveway of my house.

"Come on in." I sighed, unbuckling and opening the door.

Hank popped the trunk, and I went to retrieve my bag. I met him at the top of the car and we walked up to my front door. I pulled out the key Pavel had given me, and unlocked the door, letting us in.

I led us to the kitchen where I dropped my bag and other things, then slipped off my shoes. Hank did the same and we headed into the family room.

I sat on one end, my knees brought up to my chest, and Hank sat on the other end, with his feet propped up.

"So, what'd want help with?" he smiled.

I sighed. "So..." I began, lamely. "Pavel and I are dating." I spat out.

Hank's mouth opened a little. "Seriously?" he asked.

"Kinda. Sorta... well, I don't know. I think. It's not very official. But, it's like that." I answered.

Hank raised an eyebrow. "Start from the beginning." he said.

I quickly glazed over things quickly, just so he knew what was going on.

"So you and Pavel, eh?" he smiled. "So, now... answer me. What do you need help with?"

I mentally sighed. Awkward moment. I hated awkward moments. "Well..." I started. "I wanna... you know.. well, Pavel can get models. And he freaking spends his time with me. And... and I'm just so... not even close to model like, and.." I groaned, throwing my hands up in the air.

Hank shook his head at me. I raised an eyebrow, and he said. "You don't get it, Samantha. You're beautiful on the outside. And the inside. And, yes. I'll help you if that's what you want." He got up, and walked over to me. I stayed silent as he practically dragged me up to my room.

"Okay." said Hank, and we stood in my room. "What do you want exactly?"

"Let's start with clothes. You're Pavel's friend, just think from his point of view and tell me if you think he'd like what I try on, okay?" Hank nodded.

I went to my closet and grabbed a bunch of clothes, taking them to my bathroom. I first tried on a pair of short, light jean shorts and put on a black vee-neck shirt that showed what little stuff I had.

I walked back into my room, and twirled around, laughing a little at myself. "Whatcha think?" I asked.

Hank shrugged. "Good. But, try something a little more risky. I wanna see if you can pull it off." I nodded, and headed back into my bathroom.

I kept the same shorts on, but changed my top into a very tight, and revealing tank top. I walked back out and raised an eyebrow.

"Better." he stated. "Try some more on."

I tried more clothes on for Hank for the next half an hour until I ran out of clothes. Then, we moved to make up and other girly stuff.

"Okay." said Hank. "I am NOT doing your makeup."

I grinned. "I know, I know." I said, starting to put on some of the little stuff I had.

When I was done with everything, Hank told me what to wear tomorrow, for "our plan". I was going to wear the first outfit, and some mascara and eyeliner. I was glad I didn't have to worry about anyone seeing me. No one can really see into the Players Parking Lot unless you're in there.

The next morning the alarm went off earlier than usual. I sighed, and climbed out of bed.

Usually, I didn't take a shower. But, today I was going to.

I slipped into the shower and quickly washing my short brown hair. I hopped out into the cold air, and dried myself off, and combed through my hair, then walked into my room.

I slipped on my shorts and shirt, then dried my hair. Once I was done I applied a tiny bit of makeup, then ran down to the kitchen.

I slipped on my white high tops, and made a quick piece of toast. I crammed it into my mouth as I heard the door bell ring. I grabbed my hockey stuff, and ran to the door. I opened it up and took a step out, closing the door behind me.

"Hey!" I said, happily, playing normal. I dug my hand into my pocket and fished out Pavel's key. When I looked up, he was checking me out. "Here's your key."

His eyes shot up to mine, locking for a second, then down to the key. He grabbed it, shoving it in his pocket, then leaned in and kissed me on the lips. Pavel took the bag off my shoulder, and grabbed my hand. We made our way to the car where he opened the door for me, then went and put my bag in the back.

"How'd it go, girly?" grinned Hank, as we walked down the small hallway down to the ice. Pavel was already there, so we didn't need to worry. "Or soon-to-be Mrs. Datsyuk." he snickered.

I shoved him into the wall, messing around. Though, somehow the stick he was carrying snapped in half. I laughed at that, then said. "Shut it, Hank."

"Good?" he guessed, ignoring my "shut it". I shrugged. "Well, if you're not going to answer me with words, I'll just go ask Pavel what he-"

"No!" I interjected quickly.

Hank grinned. "Okay. I won't ruin your plan... yet."

I rolled my eyes. "I'll have my cat claw your eyes out if you do."

"You have a cat?" Hank questioned, when we got to the end of the hall, and were now standing by the ice.

"Nope!" I smiled, taking a step onto the ice.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I spent practice working with Hank and Conklin. We pretty much worked on shooting, with a little bit of fun.
Okay, that's a lie. A ton of fun.
~
On the way home Pavel was quiet, and same with the time he spent at my house. I didn't know what was up. Maybe he didn't feel well? Whatever it was, I hoped he wouldn't be like this tomorrow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I woke up again very early to get ready for day two of my plan.

The clothes just weren't my plan. Throughout the day with Pavel I'd add a few, you know, sexy moves.

~~~~~~
Dressed in black short shorts and a somewhat see through shirt, I walked out the door to meet Pavel. "Hey!" I said.
"Hey.." Pavel said, with a little stutter. His eyes seemed to be traveling down my body. My face flushed red a little, but I cheered in my head. My plan was working!
"Ready?" I asked.
His eyes snapped up. "Yeah." said Pavel, plainly. His mood from yesterday seemed to be carrying over to today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Over the next few days I kept increasing my plan a little tiny bit. And it was working! I caught Pavel staring at me a lot. That sounds creepy, but at the moment it's what I'm looking for.

I'm going to have to cut the plan sometime, though. I'd get a bit obvious that something is up if I wear hug heels, and a short cocktail dress to practice!

~

It was a week after I started my plan. I'd been spending a lot of time with both Pavel and Hank, both perfecting my plan and using it.

Now, I was heading home with Pavel after a hard day at practice. Babs make us work like crazy! And Pavel's sour mood hadn't left yet.

I felt the jerk of the car turning, and the car engine cut. I unbuckled my belt, and opened the door, jumping out. I went to the back to get my bag when I realized Pavel was still in the car. I continued to get my bag out though.

Once I had it, I went back to the passenger seat and looked in at Pavel who twiddled with his hands, looking down.

"You comin'?" I asked. He always came.

He shrugged. "Not tonight."

I raised an eyebrow. "Why not?" I asked without thinking. I curse at myself mentally, I didn't want to be nosey.

Anger flared in Pavel's eyes. "Because I think you'd rather spend your time with Henrik." he said, sharply.

My mouth dropped. "No!" I yelped. "When did I ever say that?!"

"Well it's kinda obvious. You're always with him at practice, and sometime after practice. And now you've been dressing so girly! For Hank, I'm guessing!" spat Pavel.

Tears welled in my eyes. My plan had so back fired. "No, no. It's not like that." I said, sniffing, trying to keep the tears back.

"Sure." Pavel rolled his eyes. He put his hand on the gear shift and said. "I'm going to go think about our relationship." pulling out of my driveway, and roaring off into the streets of Ann Arbor.

Authors Note: :OOO LOL. If this wasn't clear... sorry. D: It works out so much better in my head.

Okay, so... thanks for reading!
