Three

It was another lecture day with our Professors both in English and Japanese language.

The reason why I applied for a student exchange program is for my preparation as a flight attendant.

I know, those two are super not inclined with one another.

One being an office job and another being on board most of the time.

But, I do am planning to take flight attendant as a second course or a second degree.

I always wanted to roam the world equipped with the knowledge I have gained through the years.

Human Resource Management will be my fallback once I grew tired of flying and travelling the world.

"Watashi no itteru koto wakattemasu ka? (Do you understand what I am saying?)" Prof. Itachi, our professor in Human Resource Management, asked us.

"Hai! (Yes!)" The class chorused and he nodded before dismissing us.

Today is the first week of December, almost Christmas break.

And, holiday celebrations are everywhere.

Being new to this country, Hanami already scheduled me to go and celebrate with her.

If there is one thing I love about the Japanese culture, it's about their three-term system of education.

Their school year starts in April and ends in July. Second semester begins September and ends at around December 20. Last term commences in January and ends at mid-March.

I got here in Japan by the middle of Autumn, which is around November.

I was able to enjoy the sights around here before it gets this freezing cold.

I like how Hanami was so easy to get along with and her sense of humor really get into me.

Being a Japanese descent, it was a breath of fresh air knowing her.

For sure, I'm gonna miss her after six months.

Our next professor came and gave us reminders for our winter break.

Like usual, I made sure I jotted down everything for my enrollment for the last semester.

Our winter break is only ten days.

In short, the last week of it might more or less be intended for the enrollment and everything else.

I still have a lot to learn about their education system if it's a lot like ours back home or not.

Our final exams are scheduled this week before the winter break. Results of which will be posted online using our student number in the university's portal.

Obviously, with the ten day break, it's impossible for me to come home and spend the Christmas and New Year with the parents.

So, Hanami, being Hanami, invited me over to their home to celebrate the holidays with her parents and brother.

I still haven't met them but I have a feeling that they are equally lovable as she is.

As soon as our day ended, me and Hanami, walked restlessly to their spacious cafeteria.

The white walls and wide structure really made it such an expensive university.

Various students came rushing in and started talking in their own languages and dialects.

Being not yet fluent with it, I was glad that Hanami was patient enough to whisper to me the words which I am not familiar of.

Who knows, they might be talking negative about me?

But then again, why should I care?

I'm just here to study anyway and enjoy the place where I am currently in.

We stuffed our stomachs with enough food for the day before we went to our dormitory to study and rest our brains for our three-day final exams.

Both of us are confident that we will do well with it and promised ourselves to indulge in our favorite food once we aced them.

True enough, during Winter break, or should I say after two days, as soon as we opened our eyes, both of us are screaming with glee.

Her mom even joined us in cheering for ourselves.

It will indeed be a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year after all!
