Places We Sleep
Sliver eye deep in the rough
observes the noise
and lingering, waits
for the heart to quiet
and the mind to rest
See this from
the inside out
A world in doubt
and locked away
Afraid to brave
the faith of freedom
Afraid to cry out
lest someone see them
Here the simple
fights complex
A world so vexed
contains; constrains
Yet this one seed
of hope buried deep
could it yet grow
in places we sleep?
