A Stranger's Look

I felt a daydream
slipping in
as I sipped
at your glances
drifting into
my world

Sitting at the edge
on the seat
of my thoughts
was a moment
I alone beheld

You were the whisper
deep and carefree
The ever present vision
of what I believe

I saw what I hoped
your eyes see
What I wanted them
to believe about me

Someone true and kind
with grace and panache
A strong soul indeed
yet never too rash

We spent a day
like no other before
I was on point
and you met the score

The clouds rolled out
and the sun looked on
A perfect time was had
until the time was gone

Then I watched
as they called your name
Drink in hand you smiled
and were on your way

I finished my coffee
and turned back to my book
What a nice moment
from a stranger's look
