~~12 YEARS LATER~~

     You were currently sweeping the floor of your cafe. You put the broom in the storage closet before going into the back room to grab your bags and head home. You locked up the cafe and put your keys into your bag. It was a usual evening of closing at six o'clock and walking back home. The walk home was always your way of not only unwinding but it was an excuse to get in some extra steps for the day.

     You finally reached your home and unlocked the door being greeted by your adorable four legged friend. She jumped up on your legs barking, and whining. You laughed at her excitement before reaching for her leash and attaching it to her collar.

"You wanna go for a walk River? Come on!" You say excited which causes River to run to the door.

You took River on a walk around your block, allowing her to finally stretch her legs after a long day of being cooped up inside. While on your walk with River someone had called your name, one of your regulars to be exact.

"Hey, I don't think I've ever seen you outside the cafe (Y/N)." He smiled at you.

"Haha, nope. That cafe is my life, other than my little baby right here." You said referring to River who was laying down next to you.

"So umm. I have a question. Would you ever wanna get dinner or something with me?" He asked fiddling with his fingers.

"Oh, I'm sorry but I'm actually in a relationship." You smiled awkwardly to him.

"Oh. Oh gosh I'm sorry. I'll uh... see you later then." He nodded before walking away hurriedly.

     You chuckled to yourself before clicking your tongue to get Rivers attention. You and River finished your walk and went home. You unhooked River's leash before going to get her some dinner. You put the wet food on a plate and placed the plate on the ground for her before you went to the fridge to grab your own dinner. You reheated it in the microwave before sitting down at the kitchen table.

     You ate your dinner looking over at River every few moments. You finished and looked over at the picture of you and Ran sitting on the kitchen table in front of you. You smiled at the picture taking notice of how long his hair was when the picture was taken. You played with the ring that still, after 12 years, sat on your right ring finger, never moving from that finger.

"What do you think he's up to River?" You asked your dog as she tilted her head.

     You sat there pondering what Ran was actually up to. You knows, you haven't seen him in years, you've actually lost track. The last time you remember seeing him was his 24th birthday seven years ago, and after that he and Rindou disappeared. He told you in a note that he was leaving, and to try your best to forget the both of them. You felt as if your world came crashing down. 

     You ignored what he told you and tried to contact either of them, but ultimately getting nothing in response. So after trying for so long you took Ran's advice and gave up looking for them. It was as if they never existed and it took a toll on you to lose not only your boyfriend, but a best friend at the same time. You were so deep in thought you didn't realize River scratching at your leg.

"Hmm? Oh, whats wrong baby?" You asked River.

She simply stared back at you. No tail wag, no excited jumps, she just stared at you.

"I guess maybe I should finally get rid of everything huh?" You asked her standing up from the table.

     You grabbed the picture from the table and took it into your bedroom. You opened your closet door and pulled out one of the boxes that were stacked in your closet. You opened it to see all the things he ever bought your stuffed away in the dusty box. Your eyes watered and even though you wanted to blame the dust, you knew deep down that it had nothing to do with the dust. You wiped your tears before putting the picture in the box and closing it.

     You brought the box into the living room and placed it on the floor. You went back into your bedroom and grabbed the two other boxes from your closet. You placed them on the floor next to the first box. You went into the bathroom and brushed your hair and teeth. After you returned to your bedroom and changed into your pajamas before flopping down on your bed and going to sleep.

     The next morning River woke you up by licking your cheek. You opened your eyes to the beautiful early morning sun rays beaming into your bedroom. You quickly got dressed and grabbed Rivers leash taking her for her morning walk. Once back inside your home you stared at the boxes on the floor. You huffed picking one up and going out to your garbage.

     You carefully placed the box in the trash can before grabbing the other two and doing the same as the first. The last box having the picture from the table in it. You opened the box and looked at the picture for the very last time. You smiled at it before wiping the tear that ran down your face. You put the picture back in the box sniffling.

"I'll always love you Ran." You whispered to yourself. 

     You grabbed your things before heading to the cafe. You double checked everything making sure all was in order before opening the shop. Your day was pretty busy so it kept you distracted from the morning affairs which you couldn't complain about. Once your day was over you did your closing tasks before making the walk home again. You checked your mail box and pulled the mail out.

     You tossed the pile of mail on your kitchen table before calling out for River. You took her on her walk and came back to go through the mail. Most of it pointless things like advertisements or just random fliers. The last letter however hand written with just your full name on the front. You looked at it before turning it around and tearing the seam of it.

     You pulled out the two folded papers in it. You unfolded the first to see its a copy of the picture of you and Ran that you had on the kitchen table. You dropped the picture and opened the second paper. You could see handwriting that you were all too familiar with. It was Ran's hand writing with a short and simple message.

I'll always love you (Y/N). Until the end love. ~Ran

Well you guys, thats it the final chapter of this book. I wish I had a better plan for the ending but I still like how this turned out. Will I be making a part two to this book? Maybe, or maybe not I'm not sure yet. I always feel like part two to books never go as good as the first ones. I guess if enough people want me to make a part 2 I will but until then, this is it.
