Chapter Three

         Cahira's POV
It had been a week since Edmund returned, and today was our wedding day. I sat in the little side room, my heart pounding, as Sierra carefully placed the silver tiara on my head, pulling the veil back over it. Sierra was nearly seven months pregnant with her first child, but still wouldn't just slow down and take a break.

"There. Perfect." I smiled at my soon to be sister-in-law, and stood, taking her hands.
"Thank you. Now please, go sit. You need to rest." She sighed, but agreed, slipping out and into the great hall. I stood, moving over and staring at myself in the large mirror on one wall. My hair was lightly curled and hanging loose around my shoulders. I had the tiara and veil, and the simple but beautiful white gown. It had a skirt that wasn't quite like a ball gown, but it wasn't tight. I heard a quiet knock, and found Caspian outside the door.

"We're ready, my lady." I nodded, and he led me out to the entrance to the hall. I could see the sadness in his eyes, and I could tell that he missed Susan dreadfully. He gave me a slight smile, and then he went inside. I took a deep breath, picked up my small bouquet, and entered. I saw Peter and Edmund standing at the head of the room, and she saw Edmund suck in a sudden breath. Peter put a hand on his shoulder, and he smiled slightly. I got to the front, and he took my hands. Then, Peter started speaking.

"Just to let you know, I've never done this before, so forgive me if I ruin it completely." There was a ripple of laughter, and he took a breath.
"You all know why we're here, and what's going to be happening, so I'll shut up, and let these two start talking." There was more quiet laughter, and I started speaking.

"Edmund.....When we met, I was a scared and lonely girl who had just gotten away from a ruthless leader. I didn't know if I could trust anyone, and it turns out that with you.....I did more than trust. I always thought things would be better if I could predict or expect what was going to happen in my life. With you....it's just been unexpected left and right, and that's okay. I've learned to love the crazy that I experience with you, and I have to say, you can be just as crazy as our life has been." I said, and everyone chuckled at that.
"And now....I am making these vows to you, and with them...I am promising to never leave you...and to continue to choose to love you, until the day I die." He smiled at me, and my heart leapt again. I still couldn't get over that, now matter how many times he smiled at me.

"Cahira, I knew there was something special about you, and I was amazed by you. You were beautiful, smart, talented.....And dangerous on some levels, especially when you have a bow in your hands. You're strong, too. And I....I love everything about you. You've been a blessing to so many people since you've arrived, myself included in that. And I can promise you this. I'm not ever letting go, because I don't ever want to lose you, Cahira. I love you too much for that. And I make this vow to you, before Aslan and our family, that I too will continue to be loyal to you. I will choose to love you, honor you, and protect you...Until the day I die." He kissed my forehead, and Peter chuckled slightly.
"Cheater." He teased Edmund, who shrugged. We went through the formal vows and whatnot, and finally, Peter took a deep breath, stepping back slightly.

"Well, seeing as there's nothing more for me to say.....I can't believe I'm saying this for my little brother, but, oh well. I now pronounce you husband and wife. Edmund....You may kiss your bride." He grinned, and I couldn't help but laugh as he pulled me close, and pressed his lips to mine. We slipped back out later, and were enjoying the quiet along the beach, away from all of the noise and craziness.

"I love you, Cahira. And I always will." I smiled, kissing his cheek.
      "I love you too, Edmund."
