1) As I mentioned already, this story is hitting close to home for many and I can see more comments where readers are taking this story way too personally. I have no problems even if your comments are spout. Any form of expression is good for our mind and body. However, I am not going to take a chance of replying to them, even the ones with questions, unless of course you explicitly ask for my opinion.

2) Regarding similarities between Omkara(TWV) and Gauri(UPL):

This is something I can only answer as a writer. It is true that they both are plants with same root but different stem. If you want me to go into details of how it is possible or ask me to justify it, it will become more like character sketching writing workshop and I am gonna have to ask you to pay per hour for that lecture *wink*. Frankly, I don't really expect you to understand it. That is something involving my personal writing and plotting process.

I can reveal one thing though. In TWV I wanted you to hate Omkara even for a bit, because I wanted you to think that idea of Gauri having an affair is reasonable. Only when you are convinced about it, I can strongly advocate the point that, in spite of circumstances, if someone is strong mentally, they can resist infidelity (physical and emotional). I don't know how many readers saw the story with that perspective, but that was my intention.

On the other hand, in UPL, I don't want you to hate Gauri (I can make you if I try), I only want you to understand her (based on comments, only couple of readers have so far understood her the way I see her). As I already mentioned, I am trying to break more than one stereotype with her character. Her character is one of my personal best so far. I know, I always say that what readers understand is reflection of who they are and not of what writer writes. But, in this case I am just going to place too much hope on my readers' analysis skills and ability to understand a character in depth and not only the superficial layers.

3) Am I justifying Gauri ? No

What am I trying to do with this story?

Well, that is something you will understand only if you read this story as journey of one woman and not representation of mass. I don't have any agenda behind the story, so don't look for it.
