"The most beautiful part is, I wasn't even looking when I found you"

Arshita's Pov

"Unko bata toh do ki tum zinda ho" Shubman said standing in front of me handing me my phone.

"I don't want to" I said and concentrated on the game I was playing on his phone.

He sighed and took a seat beside me on the couch and looked at me like I would change my mind.

We came back from our 'DATE' (he insisted to call it that) and I was back in his another t-shirt and shorts. We decided that I would stay one more night here in his house and tomorrow after college, he will bring me to my home.

It's not like he wanted me to leave his house, it's just that his mother was coming back tomorrow and I can't stay here forever.

I wasn't ready to face my mother, I was really hurted too deep to let it go like that.

Shubman wanted me to call her and inform about myself but as soon as he suggested this, I immediately said no. I didn't cared of she was worried. I convinced myself it was her turn to suffer when all those times i slept on the couch just waiting for her, worried if she was all right when she forgot to tell that she would be coming home late.

However, Shubman found this not right at all and was insisting me to call her.

"Just call her" he said again bringing my phone to me.

"Why should I?" I said wishing he would leave me alone with my game.

"Kya chahti ho, ki vo jake police report kr de, that my daughter is lost" he said raising an eyebrow.

As much as I didnt wanted to agree he had a point. I sighed and stopped my game and took my phone from him and and opened the dialpad.

Shubman sat there looking at me expectantly, but I couldn't do it.

I dropped my hands in my lap sighing "I don't want to talk to her"

I wished he would just leave this topic but he being stubborn said "Do you want me to talk to her"

"What will you tell her exactly?" I asked him.

"Just that you are safe" he said.

"Waah kitna acha hoga na ek stranger unko call krke keh rha hai that your daughter is safe" I said sarcastically looking at him.

He just grabbed my phone and said "just trust me"

I tried snatching my phone back but he stood up to his feet, I also stood up and he started running and I ran after him.

I wasn't able to run as fast as him because of his big legs and he ran up the stairs and I followed him. I reached and stopped inside the room but he was already speaking in the phone.

"Hlo" he said in the phone.

I froze.

I looked at him in disbelief and then gave him a hang up the phone now or else stare but he totally ignored it.

"I'm Shubman Gill" he said into the phone. "Your daughter's boyfriend" he said and then I tried to get the phone from him but he swiftly moved away. "Yes, yes. No... yess. I'm sorry. She's fine. Oh" He looked over me and lowered the phone to me "Arshu, do you want to talk to her" he asked.

"No" I said loud enough for her to hear over the phone.

"Sorry" Shubman said bringing phone back to his ear. "She don't want to" he said.

At this point, I knew there was nothing I could but let him finish so I turned around.

That is when I realized, that we were in his room.

I looked around and it was typical Shubman Gill's room like clothes scattered on the bed, video game controllers on the table in front, I turned and my eyes stucked on a painting on the wall.

I caressed it with my fingers and paint was somewhere thick, somewhere thin, somewhere rough and somewhere soft. It was attracting and colorful. It looked like messed up lines from near but from where I was standing earlier it was bird on a branch.

I looked over my shoulder and was surprised to see that Shubman had already finished tal to my mom. He didn't moved from where he was standing nut was stating at me and his expression was like 'I want to dissappear'

"Did you paint this?" I asked him raising an eyebrow.

He cleared his throat and leaned back on the window and said "Yeah" then scratching the back of his neck "It's not that good" he said.

"Are you joking" I asked in disbelief. I looked at him and then back at the painting "I would die to have something like this in my room"

He laughed a little at this and then shooked his head looking here and there.
"It's beautiful" I said.

I meant it when I said, and to my surprise, I saw Shubman blush for the first time and he said "Kuch bhi" and before I could protest, he suddenly changed the topic. "And I think your mom hates me" he said.

"Well, tumne ne unki missing beti ko pakad ke rakha hai" I said smirking.

"You're not missing" He said and and plopped back onto his bed running his hands through his hair. "Balki maine toh unhe phone krke bataya ki tum kha ho kaisi ho, so it's unfair to hate me" he said.

"It doesn't matter" I said casually.

"Why's that?" He asked getting up and sitting straight.

"Waise bhi tum mere real boyfriend thodi ho" I said.

"Well then, jo bhi hai sbke parents mujhe bhut psnd krte hai, they literally love me" he said grinning.

"So you're telling me that all your friends' parents love you?" I asked trying to hold back a smile.

"OH yess" he said. "I'll have you know, even Abhay ki mom wale incident baad bhi she adores me" he said chuckling.

"Ye toh mai maan hi nhi skti" I said shooking my head.

"Mujhe tumhari mom se milne do, dekhna she'll love me" he said proudly.

I laughed a little and said "Aur vo kbhi nhi hone wala"

It was when I rolled my eyes and they landed on the notepad under his pillow, it wasn't much clear from far but I remembered it from the last night.

At first Shubman was confused when I walked towards his bed and as soon as I bent down to reach for the notepad realization hit him and he stood up straight at the other side of the bed.

"Just one look" I said holding the notepad.

"No way" he said reaching for it but I moved away. "Please" I said with puppy eyes but it was of no use.

It was so tempting that I just wanted to take a quick look but the look on Shubman's face was so tensed and scared like I had him at a gunpoint.

"You called my mom without my permission, pleasseee" I said holding the notepad behind me.

"Toh ab tumhe uska badla lena hai" he asked again reaching for it.

"Mai tumhe kuch bhi dunga but not this please" he said stretching his hand towards me.

That look was telling me that he really didn't wanted me to see it so I gave up and handed the notepad to him. He relaxed down and his look was, I don't know why but it felt soothing.

"You owe me" I said.

A soothing smile came onto his face and he nodded his head, "Sure" he said.

After sharing some pizza, Shubman walked me to a room at the end of the hall, it was a guest room. We entered and the bed was cozy, exactly that's what I needed.

Shubmam walked back towards the door and when he was going to shut it from outside he stopped and popped his head in. I looked at him from the bed where I was ready sitting.

"Kya hua?" I asked "Kuch reh gya kya"

He then opened his mouth to say something but closed it and then with a shook of his head he said "Good night"

I wasn't convinced with that look but I just settled with replying "Good night Shub"

I expected myself to fall asleep immediately but then I ended up only tossing and turning over the bed, trying to shut my eyes hoping to fell asleep but it seemed  impossible.

Finally I got up and decide to have a glass of water or maybe some milk so I made my way out of the room in the dark slowly so that I don't wake Shubman if he was already sleeping.

The light under his room was closed so I assumed he was sleeping.

I made my way to the kitchen and as I was going to pick up a glass I heard someone say "Hey" and I was surprised to turn and find Shubman standing there.

"You scared the shit out of me" I told him with a horrible expression.

"I just said 'hey'" he said smiling.

"Mujhe laga tum so gye, aise raat me do bje 'hey' kaun krta hai" I said and he laughed.

"Btw, tum soyi kyu nhi" he asked.

"Neend nhi aa rhi" I said.

"Ah" he said and smiled a bit "I just know a trick" he said.

I raised an eyebrow and watched him with curiosity when he went to the fridge and took out milk and made his way to the stove.

He heated the milk and took out two mugs from the shelf and I wax surprised when he also took our a bottle of honey.

"Shahneel di used make my milk like this" he said smiling a bit.

He then puts a spoon of honey in each cup and poured the milk in it and then stirred it.

"Jb mai chota toh mujhe dhoodh bilkul psnd nhi tha, Phir ek din di ne ye banaya and I ended up loving it" he said handing me one of the cup.

I looked at the milk and thought how it woukd taste and when I took a dip, I was surprised because it tasted really good, I took another sip, a bigger one, and I guess he noticed this because he smiled.

"Neend toh mujhe bhi nhi aa rhi thi aur mai soch rha tha movie dekh lu, wanna join?" he asked raising an eyebrow.

I knew my sleep wasn't going to give in so I agreed and then he told that we'll be watching it in his room and I suggested to watch it in the hall only but he told me that he has already set up everything in his room.

" I guess it's your plan to take girls in your room right?" I asked him smirking.

"Ah busted" he said smiling keeping his hand on his heart.

I shook my head chuckling and said "You're impossible Shub"

"Impossibly attractive" he said smirking.

"You mean impossibly in love with yourself." I said grinning.

He simply smiled and turned the lights off and started walking upto his room and I kept reminding him not to try anything funny with me unless he wants to get a good beating from me.

We sat on his bed and I made sure there was enough space between us when we started the movie on his laptop.

He looked at the space between us and then at me when I raised an eyebrow at him giving him 'what's wrong' look and he said "I feel like I have a contagious disease"

"Kyu" I asked him confused.

"Yeh, Yeh kya hai, mai katunga nhi" he said pointing the space between us.

I looked at him and burst out laughing and he laughed with me and I shifted towards him and we watched the movie.

I didn't expected myself to fall asleep in his bed halfway through "Serendipity"and for him to sleep also and what I never expected was waking up next day to find that we slept together in the same bed.
