You like Breakfast Dumplings?
Friday Oct. 31st 11:13
"I forget all the time that you just moved in."
"I know, huh, me too until I trip over all the extra boxes laying around. Come on."
I followed behind Alexis as she led me through her foyer of her new apartment. As I scanned the room, I couldn't help but admire her decor. Soft pastels and bohemian designs gave the room an artsy/homey feel that really fit her aesthetic.
"I love that rug!" I beamed, stopping and taking a gentle squat to caress the fabric of the oriental style rug underneath her white oak coffee table.
Her voice carried from a distance, "I knew you would."
I stood up straight to look around some more, tucking a loose strand behind my ear. The natural lighting that cast through the bay window into her living room was so radiant. It made me want to stand in the middle of the room until the sun had set for the day. The choice in colors mixed with the greenery made the room feel so inviting. Very calm and alleviating. Very...Safe. The most serene aura.
I closed my eyes and tilted my head back, sighing in satisfaction. "Lex."
"Yes?" she sang, her voice is still far away.
"This space is so...sublime." I smiled.
"Oo, I love that word." Footsteps carried till they were close enough. The smell of soft pears and vanilla caressed my nose. Her signature golds jangled, and I could tell she was lifting something up to me before she even addressed it. "I'm glad you love it, boo. Here, try this on."
My eyes fluttered open, "why didn't you ask me to help you move?" I asked as I reached for the garment she held before me.
She adjusted her pink silk robe, "because I wanted to surprise you."
"Aw, how cute. I love it. Do you still have those crystals I gave you"?
She giggled, "sure do. They're in my room."
"Good. did you cleanse and charge them?" I held the silky white garment to my body. "Oo, What's this?"
"Yes, I did, and that's One of the costumes I made for you. I'm still working on the other one, so I need you to give me some yes or no's."
Pulling it away, I sized it up in confusion. "What is it supposed to be?"
"Girl" she sighed. "What costumes are usually all white?"
"...brides?" I guessed with a head tilt.
"Omg! Emily, no. Angels." My mouth formed a big 'O' and she just shook her head. "Just go try it on, please."
"Ok, fine." I walked off assessing the costume.
"The bathroom is the first door to the right." Alexis said from across the room.
As I made my way to the bathroom, a quick thought crossed my mind, stopping me in my tracks. "Hey, I thought Jimin was here?"
"He's in the shower." she said plainly.
"Oh–"
"In my room."
"Oh. ok."
I shrugged off the mental note of his company and carried on with my task. Once I was in the bathroom, I once again went into admiration mode and marveled at how clean and put together the bathroom looked. The luxe black cabinets, white marble countertops and tile, were so pretty, I just couldn't get over it.
But I had to. If I wanted to get this costume on, that is. If not, I would have been admiring it all day. I undressed fairly quickly and immediately started putting on the costume. Well, attempted. Alexis forgot to mention it was a 5-piece suit, which was mind blowing because once I had it on, three of the five pieces barely covered anything.
The three most important were gorgeous, but probably the most revealing pieces of clothing I would probably own. What was supposed to cover my chest was a satin white push up bustier top. that was high above my belly button and maybe an inch or so below the bottom of my breasts. It was lined with sequins and lace that gave it an expensive feminine look. As for the second piece, it was a satin white pair of panties bordering the thong category. The third piece was a cover up that tide around my waist made of the same lace that decorated the top. It wrapped around my back side, sitting right below my cheeks and enough for me to say 'fuck' if I were to drop anything essential tonight. All I needed was for someone to sneeze in this direction and I was exposed for everyone.
Of course, I appreciated the whole thing. Every precise detail and stitch, but who did Alexis think I was? The only angels I've seen wearing this were walking for Victoria secret. I took another look at myself in the mirror, appreciating the curves I was blessed with. I looked great but my comfortability levels were depleting the more I thought about going out in public.
A knock at the door shook me from my thoughts.
"Yah?" I spoke.
"Are you ready?"
"I guess so." I answered.
"I'm coming in."
Immediately after the door clicked and Alexis entered with her wide eyes and a dumb ass smile. I stood there awkwardly, trying to keep her from staring at my tits. The more I covered up the more she stared.
"Can you stop." I whined.
"You stop!" she said, putting a hand on her hip and twirling her index finger. "Turn around, lemme see that ass."
Following direction, I did a 360, letting her get a good look of the whole fit. Her smile grew wider, and she started to nod her head. I stood still, waiting impatiently for her response.
"Are you going to tell me what you think or..?" I asked.
"That's sexy ass fuck!" this time she circled me, checking out every inch. "Shooooot, I wish I was Jung Papi. If I was him, I'd never let that ass out of the house."
I couldn't help but laugh. This nickname was stuck like glue. "Why do you call him that?"
"That's not his name? shit, my bad. Anyway," she continued, "That's not the only one, but I'm hoping that the one you'll choose. Especially so we can match."
"You have one too? You don't think we're a little too old to be matching? we're two blinks from being thirty. " I asked, sitting down on the toilet seat.
"Girl, no. it's not like we'll be matching identically. Well, not fully. Mine is more of a Dark Angel/ Angel of death vibe, but the outfit is pretty much the same, just black. I used web designed lace, and the stitching is different too. I guess no, they're not really the same, but we'll be on theme."
"Oh, I think that'll be cute. I don't mind wearing it... hopefully the wings cover up more of me. Another thing though. I don't know if Jungkook will be ok with me wearing this out."
Dramatically rolling her eyes, Alexis smacked her lips. "Girl, please! Since when have you cared about what a man got to say about your outfit? You grown as fuck."
"I know, but I'm in a whole ass relationship. That means only one person gets to know what this body looks like and that one person is my man."
'What's the difference between you wearing this and a bikini at the beach?" she said, pursing her lips.
"Well... this is more provocative." I looked down at my body, hoping this would support my argument.
"I guess." she sucked her teeth, then sighed, "I still don't get it, but pop your shit, twin."
"I'm just saying, I'd feel a way about Jungkook stepping out in just some panties or something and everyone can see his dick." I shrugged, looking at the ground.
Leaning against the door frame and folding her arms, Alexis rolled her eyes again.
"That's fucking childish."
"How?" I asked.
"Who's dick is it?" she asked.
"His."
"Aht, wrong answer."
"Mine?"
"Right!" she nodded, her hair bouncing to the side. "And who's going to be the one getting dicked down at the end of the night?"
"Me?" I answered unsurely.
"Me??" she mocked, "Yes you, pendéja. And even if you aren't, he's still coming home to you, or you're coming home to him. All these hoes can ogle and drool over him, but at the end of the day he ain't checking for nobody but Emily 'Airhead' Johnson And vice versa, you aren't checking for anyone else either. Wanna know how I know? Because you respect your man enough to consider what you wear in public. and if it makes you feel any better, I made some shorts to go with it as back up. So there, this childish ass Case is closed."
She leaned off the door and started analyzing her face in the very large mirror above the sink. I almost hated when she was right because her words echoed in my head like I was listening to a scratched CD.
"Anyways, Girl, did you know Jimin was a doctor??" she asked, picking at a small pimple.
"A what?" I asked, completely taken aback.
She turned around amused and lifted herself onto the counter. "Well not an actual Doctor, but a medical Assistant at a cardiologist office."
"Girl, I thought he was a bartender or something." I admitted.
"I didn't know what he did. I just knew he worked Monday through Friday between 8 and 5. Hell, I didn't even know that till like 3 weeks ago. I thought he was just running through the streets or something."
I laughed wholeheartedly until the topic of discussion knocked on the door frame, stealing our attention. He looked to the side, shielding his eyes out of respect. "Hey, mami, did you eat yet?"
Tucking in her bottom lip, she answered him in the most delicate voice which was a huge contrast to how she spoke to me just a second ago. "No, not yet. Are you leaving for work?"
"Nah, my doctor is out today, so I took the day off. Want me to make something, or I could pick something up? "
"Um, sure. Whichever is fine." she turned her head back, towards me who stood there watching the whole exchange amusedly. "Did you want anything specific, Emmy?"
"Um, no. Whatever you make or get is fine. Thank you." I spoke.
He nodded his head and gave us a confirming thumbs up. "Do you want anything specific, mami?"
His tone was clear and direct, yet still gentle enough to get her to admit defeat against her empty stomach.
"I guess I could eat something. Can you get us some Alfonso's. They have spooky breakfast dumplings half off today."
"Of course, I'll be right back." he said, leaning in to give Alexis a kiss while still respecting my boundaries.
"Ok, thanks." Quickly, Alexis closed the door on him and turned around to lean against the sink very casually. "So, um...You like breakfast dumplings?"
Again, I laughed at her stupidity. "Get out so I can take this off and pee."

In order to quickly get things handled around here, you have to show a little skin. In my case, showing some skin meant using pure charisma and my looks gifted from god himself. I stood off to the side, waiting for Abigail to finish up the conversation she was having with one of her colleagues. I tried to put on my best performance in attempting to make coffee, a regular task that wouldn't draw too much attention.
Any minute now.
As if it were a routine I practiced for weeks, I worked the machine while making efforts to keep a keen eye. Casual looks over my shoulder, greeting the workers who walked in her direction, and throwing away any trash I accumulated like Keurig pods, sugar packets, creamer cups and stirring sticks until she was free.
Finally, I had an opening. I grabbed the coffee I had no intentions on drinking and made my way over to her confident that I'd walk away with my needs met. I even took a mental note of the good mood she seemed to be in by the radiant smile and the friendly waved goodbye.
As she turned in her chair, her ash brown hair went with it, landing over her shoulder and falling down her arms into her hands that typed away at the thick keyboard. Her eyes remained trained on the computer screen and her hands moved almost faster than her thought process, and she didn't even notice my presence behind her.
Standing in her doorway, I cleared my throat to get her attention, "Excuse me?"
Her hands froze where they were, letting the cursor blink beside the last word she typed.
"You're Abigail, right?"
"Yes?"
She turned her head robotically, giving me a smile different from the one she gave her colleague as her green eyes settled on mine. She sat up with perfect posture, four buttons undid on her blouse, and a long crevice that sat at the top of her mounds told me her methods were no different from mine.
Channeling the charm I had stored away for moments like these, I flashed a smile with much magnetism, "There were some files Mr. Kim needed me to process. I can't really access my email right now. I believe you have access to them as well, you think you could print them for me?"
Without hesitation, her fingers resumed their dance across the keyboard with precision. "Alright, done."
Surprised with the little effort it took, I started to thank her until she cut me off by whipping her chair around, her whole body facing me, and her head covering the computer screen.
"I have access to a lot of files, though, so you're going to have to be more... Specific. So, what files do you need?"
The single brow she raised challenged me. She even folded her arms to seal the deal as she waited for my response. According to some of the workers around here, Abigail wasn't a person that was easy to please, but she always got what she wanted. I could see why my uncle favored her over some of his other employees. To my uncle, Abigail was almost no different from his secretary/ assistant, Ashley. The differences between them were their role to him. Ashley was like his right hand. Accessible, reliable, gullible. Abigail was basically a robot. Both Useful, yet equally disposable.
I suppressed my laughter, "oh, you want me to say Seokjin Kim's private business and affairs out loud?"
She crossed her leg, "well, they must not be so private if you're casually asking for them."
The way she continued to sit there started to annoy me, but I'll admit that she did have a point. I was casually asking for something that no other person in the whole company had access to other than her, Ashley, and my uncle. For the sake of time at this point, I figured I would go ahead and play that card. She wanted a challenge, let's see who folds first.
"Ok." I leaned against the entrance of her office. Inhaling with my eyes shut, I opened as I exhaled. "Listen sweetheart. I'm sure you don't know who I am, and that's ok. That's good. Maybe you don't need to know who I am. But I know you're more than familiar with Seokjin."
She scoffed, leaning back in her chair, "Ok, so what. And what about it?"
"Then I assume you're familiar with the way he runs his business... All of his businesses. You're familiar with the type of files you know that I'm asking for. Just as familiar as he is with what's underneath the thin ass napkin that you call a shirt."
She scoffed again, her green eyes narrowing with every implication. "Ok, so who are you? How do I know these files are reaching the right eyes?"
Chuckling, I shook my head and closed the door, still ignoring the question as I closed the blinds on her office window. She observed my every move, keeping still as I closed the space between us until her knee touched mine. Watching as those green eyes wavered, I knelt down meeting her at eye level. With my right hand, I reached past her ear, gripping the top of her leather office chair, and turned the chair to face the computer screen. The rhythm of her breaths became unsteady with every move I made and now she didn't know whether to keep her eyes on the screen or me.
She should be nervous. If she knew about my uncle's side business, then she knew what I was and why I needed those files. Her hands trembled as She gripped the arm rest, and like many other occasions, I almost felt bad. Utilizing the wheels on the chair, I pulled her closer to me, so close my lips were close enough to touch her ear.
"Who are you?" she asked again, demanding that I answer her, though her voice didn't falter.
"A Ghost." I whispered. "I need those files, please. You know the ones."
Like before, she immediately got to work pulling up the most recent file in the case load and sending them to her personal printer. One after another spit out from the printer below her desk and she even made an effort to sort and place them in manila folders all within 5 minutes. By the time she was done, I had the most welcoming smile on my face and determined she actually was useful.
"Oh shit." I smirked, impressed with her speed. Leaning over to double check the screen even though I knew it was sent, I gave her a genuine and charming smile. "I guess your area robot. Thank Abby."
A hesitant and soft blush spread on her freckled cheeks. "Do not call me that."
Just then a buzz against my wrist alerted me that I was getting an incoming call. I glanced at my wrist one time, and I felt a small involuntary flutter in my gut.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket and excused myself hurriedly, spewing words as I exited. "I'm going to take this, Thanks again. Tell Seokjin I said 'wassup' if you see him and Happy Halloween!"
"Hello?" I said walking into the empty hallway.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Her angelic voice felt like a sweet kiss to my ear.
"At the office. I'm doing some work for my uncle." I said plainly, looking around.
"Office?"
"Yeah, my uncle's office, why? What's up? You, ok?"
Her voice sounded unsure. "Yeah, I'm ok. I just wanted to show you something."
"Is it important, Emily?" I asked honestly. My intentions weren't to brush her off but like always, I'm on a time limit.
"No, not really. I'm sorry if you're busy, I'll let you go."
"Wait," I sighed, rubbing my forehead. "FaceTime me."
In no time I had an incoming FaceTime. I took a deep breath before answering. I had no clue what she would be showing me, so I held the phone before me, growing impatient while I waited for the call to connect. Once it did, my jaw immediately dropped, and I was immobilized by the visual before me.
"This is my Halloween costume. Do you like it?"
Displayed on the screen before me was a sun kissed, voluptuous and heavenly erotic succubus disguised as an angel none other than my beautiful girlfriend asked. For the first time ever, I felt compelled to drop everything I was doing and mapping out blueprints for a teleportation device.
I forced the phone into my chest, looked around the empty room for any bystanders, making sure nobody was around to see. After confirmation, I pulled the phone away and stared wide-eyed at the screen not knowing which spot to keep my focus on.
"Is this not the cutest?" she askd. Eagerly, she used both her hands to caress the feathers of her wings. "It has wings too, see."
"Those are nice, babe. Can I see the back of them?"
"Yeah sure, look."
She took another step back, holding her arms out in a 'T position' to make sure the wings were spread out fully, and turned her whole body with her back facing me. Just like I secretly hoped, nothing but ass hanging below the most glamourous set of wings I've ever seen covered my screen.
"Why are you doing this to me?" I whined a little above a whisper.
and she knew exactly what she was doing. She turned her head to the side so that I could see her cheekbones rise as a smile spread across her face, then a giggle so wicked came out. It did something to me. It was criminal and I wanted to be the one to punish her for it.
"What am I doing to you?" she asked, turning back around with a dimpled smile from being so tickled by my suffering.
"You know what! Looking the way, you look knowing I'm mad."
She placed a hand on her laced hip. "You didn't seem too mad this morning when you called me."
"Because I was answering your question. I'm still upset."
She scoffed, "Well if you're still mad, then so am I."
"That's real mature, Emily." I said sarcastically.
"Speak for yourself."
"Please, Emily. I don't want to do this right now. I'm busy and this is really pointless."
"Oh! So, you can bother me at work but it's a problem when I do it?" She pointed at the center of barely covered chest.
"I'm not saying that! You actually want to see me when you're at work."
"So, you don't want to see me, now?? That's how you feel?"
"What the fuck? No! that's not what I meant!"
"Don't cuss at me!"
"Sorry. Then could you stop putting words in my mouth?"
"Ok!" she pursed her lips with displease. "So, what are you saying, Jungkook?"
Gathering my thoughts, I Balled a fist and placed the roll of it on my forehead. I took a deep breath to ease my frustration so that I can de-escalate the problem before it gets worse than what it was.
"Baby, I'm just trying to get through my day. I'm not in the mood to argue. I know you want to finish getting your point across, but I don't have it in me right now. Especially since I still have paperwork to do. Do you think you can save it for when we're together and at a place where we can find common ground?"
Her features softened to my words. "I guess."
"You were in a good mood beforehand, don't ruin it. I want you to have fun. I assumed you were going to a costume party today; it was probably the one Jimin told me about, huh?"
"Yea." She said softly.
"Ok, I'll tell you what— you have your fun tonight and tomorrow we'll talk about it. Deal?"
"Wait, am I not going to see you tonight?" She asked, disappointed written across her face.
The switch up was insane. She had to have been starting her period soon or something.
"Nah, I usually stay in for Halloween. Too many things happen." I shrugged.
her voice had returned to its normally soft and sweet tone. "If I knew, I would've stayed in with you too. We could've had a little party of our own. Maybe a horror movie night and a spooky dinner? I know how to make spicy pumpkin chili."
A small smiled formed when I thought of how gross that sounded yet I was still willing to try it for her. I could just picture her strutting around in her tiny kitchen, cute pajamas on and hair pushed back as she attempted to carve a pumpkin with one of her dull kitchen knives. she'd probably have her plump bottom lip tucked into her mouth like she always did if she was really focused or in deep thought. The creases in her forehead would be deeper the ocean, and I'd place a soft kiss on peak to relax her. and of course, those honey brown eyes are trained on the pumpkin, and I would be across from her, envious that they weren't on me.
I love when they're on me.
"I'm sure that would've been fun, baby" I chuckled, "but that's ok. Go ahead and have a good time with Alexis tonight. I need to get back to work."
She sighed and nodded her head in understanding. "Ok. Text you before I leave?"
"Call me."
"But you said-"
"Just call. I want to see how good you'll look when the fit is complete." I smiled. "We'll talk later."
"Ok. Talk later."
The call ended and I was still left alone in the hallway. I took a few breaths to clear my mind so I could finish gathering intel for the assignment tonight. There was no room for distractions since this was a big job.
There were always big assignments on Halloween. It's the one night where almost everyone was in a disguise and felt brave enough to do anything they wanted. However, it was still easy to call someone's bluff.
