Getting to know you
Sunday, October 30 .. Sometime in the morning
The blinding sunlight that ive become rather familiar with felt like a burning fire creeping up my bare skin as it peaked passed the blinds. A gurgled groan escaped my pillow, smooshed lips and the pounding in my head increased in intensity when I cracked an eye open. The room was bright as hell. Almost as if God chose this room specifically to resurrect jesus.
"mmm" I groaned, sticking an arm out in front of me, grabbing nothing and letting it drop like a dead limb. "Shit."
On top of drinking last night, I must have been sleeping hard. Just by how deplenished
I felt, I could've sworn I was hit by a truck. Silently hyped myself up to use whatever strength I had, I placed both my palms against the sheets and pushed myself up for a quick regenerating stretch before flipping onto my back.
The palm of my hands met my eyes to rub any remaining sleep. As I came to my senses, I realized The bed felt like it hosted only one person and that person was me. The weight and warmth from my co-sleeper was gone, but it wasn't out of the ordinary for mornings. She was usually the one to get up first and I was ok with that, but what made this morning feel slightly different from any other morning we've shared was the look she had on her face when I finally opened my eyes fully.
I nearly jumped out of my skin when I saw her standing over me holding a kitchen knife and the bloodiest pomegranate she could pick. If my throat wasn't so dry, I probably would have screamed. It's confirmed.. She was definitely breathtaking in many ways.
"My god, woman!" I exasperated, clutching my chest "Trying to give me a heart attack?"
No answer. No acknowledgment. Just a vacant look in her eyes, flatlined smile and pomegranate bleeding down her forearm.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." she said. "Can you hand me my phone, please."
Instantly I felt offended by how easily she thought she could get away with this demeanor. There wasn't a chance in hell I was going to let it slide. Something was so obviously wrong id have to be a fucking fool to not see.
"Uh uhn. What's the matter?" I said, crawling past the sheets to reach for her hand. Grabbing the pomegranate first, I took it from her and set it off to the side along with the knife. Using the tips of my fingers, I wiped away all the juice trailing down her arm until I reached her hand.
My fingers gently caressed the tips of hers as she allowed me to interlock them. With caution, I pulled her in, giving her enough leadway to take free will steps towards me. Her expression remained the same as she closed in on me, and the closeness granted me a better look at the dullness in her eyes.
"Em–"
"Can you hand me my phone please." she sighed. closed her eyes as she paused, avoiding my worried gaze.
"Fuck that phone, babe. What is wrong?" I asked again, selfishly growing impatient.
she closed her eyes and turned her head to the side, avoiding my worried gaze. She sighed again deeply, her chest rising and falling before she opened her eyes as an obviously weak attempt to school her expression.
"Can you hand me my phone please, baby?" she asked one last time, this time adding a little sweetness to her voice.
"Emily," I plead, my brows forming the tightest knit. "I just woke up, I can barely see, my head is killing me, and I feel like I'm about to throw up everything from over the last 12 hours. None of that matters though, just like that punk ass phone you seem in desperate need of. Right now, at this moment, you're all that matters. so please.. Tell me what's wrong.
Her lackluster stare gave me something close to a chill. This person before me was not Emily and I had no clue where to find her and get rid of this imposter. My eyes surveyed her face as she looked everywhere but my eyes, even bouncing from the tip of my nose to different spots on the bed and wall. Why couldn't she look at me? The mere thought had me shitting myself as all the terrible things circulating me replayed in my mind like a movie, there was no telling what would've come to the light.
"Emily?" I asked again, hesitant this time.
"Hm?" she hummed.
I looked down at her hand in mine, using its warmth as strength to ask a question I was afraid of being answered. Taking a short deep breath, my line of sight shifted back to her angelic face.
"Was it something I did?" I asked. My voice was more hushed as if I shared a secret I was ashamed of.
"No." she said.
"You're lying."
Her head tilted to the side like a hand on a clock, so robotic it was scary. And for the first time in the past 3 minutes, she looked me directly in the eye. Her usually soft and alluring orbs narrowed with an intensity that shook me.
"Maybe." she said.
"What did I do, em? Please tell me." I asked earnestly. I was growing anxious by the second. " I know I was pretty drunk last night. Did I say something to offend you in any way?"
"No, Jungkook." she snapped.
"Then what is it? Tell me, baby."
Pulling her hand out mine, she sighed heavily as she stepped back, then settled into folded arms and a popped hip. Moments went by as we stared at each other across the room. The suspense was killing me and the tension was so thick, you could cut it with a knife. There was no telling what was about to say.
"Jungkook.." she started, turning her attention towards the bedroom window. Outside, the sun had been replaced by a soft overcast, mimicking the bleak look in her eye.
Tossing the sheets off my body, I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and sat up with attentiveness. "...yes?"
"There's a lot we still don't know about each other.."
"That's Right." I agreed nervously.
"And I really enjoy getting to know more about you."
"So do I."
She hummed, chewing on the skin of her bottom lip as she allowed herself some time to get her thoughts in order. I, however, was about to pass out. My body was beyond tense and my heart was beating so loud, I just knew she could hear it as well. As I stared at the side of her face, I wanted so desperately to just drop to my knees and apologize, but I had no clue what I was apologizing for and I respected her boundaries too much to try.
She prepared herself to speak again. Using a deep breath as leverage, she closed her eyes and let her words spill.
"I want to know why you were carrying a loaded gun in your jeans, and why you brought it to my house."
My mouth moved but no words came out. The silent stammer caught her attention and my heart dropped to the bottom of my ass as we faced off. What the fuck was i supposed to say? How the fuck did i forget that i had it? Why did I bring it into her house?
"I was going to throw your clothes in the wash like i usually did, and it fell out and could have damn near given ricky a concussion had it hit his head."
My eyes shifted between hers with raised brows as my tongue nervously swiped over my lower lip. "Emily, I–"
"Jungkook, I hope you don't plan on lying to me."
Well shit..
"Emily," I said, getting up from my spot. "I have no intentions of using it on anybody."
"Bullshit." she spat. "You wouldn't have it if that were true. I get people carrying concealed firearms for protection and all that other patriotic bullshit but why is it in my house?"
"I forgot to put it away."
"You forgot to put it away? Away where, jungkook? Matter of fact.. Let's go back to the first question. Why do you have it? What Ops do you have?"
"Baby–"
"What Ops do you have? Ricky??" she asked again, stepping to the side to reveal the sleeping cat on the small cat tree. "Who's radar are you on? Let me know because I'd rather not be around. Is it even licensed? Jungkook I swear if you brought an unlicensed gun to my house I'm done with you."
Her rapid fire didn't give me room to respond, but it allowed enough time to make up an explanation.
"Yes, it's licensed! And I don't have ops, but do you know how high the crime rates are in seattle? I'm always alone and working independently, any of these random ass dudes on the streets could see me as a target and might try to press the issue. The state of Washington gave us the right to carry a weapon to defend ourselves if needed, so I chose to exercise my right."
I stepped close to her, both of us paying no mind to my nakedness. She kept her fiery eyes on mine as I closed in on her, towering her clothed body in contrast to mine. I've always valued our closeness and I hoped that at this moment she still did as well.
"Em, when I'm working, I usually carry thousands of dollars worth of equipment. Anyone, and I mean anyone could think they have one up and try something. I would hate for something fucked up to happen because i wasnt strapped."
"I understand that, Jungkook, but why do you need to be strapped? There isn't any other precautions you can take? PLUS, You weren't working yesterday."
"The streets don't take a day off, babe. You stay ready, you don't gotta get ready."
"This isn't funny, jungkook!" She let out an exasperated sigh then turned away, before she could make full 180, I grabbed her gently by the wrist and pulled her back. Using my thumb and index finger, I softly tilted her chin up to keep those pretty eyes me.
Moistening my lips, I spoke again, "look, I'm sorry, but its true. Shits crazy. Believe it or not, I've been robbed before and was devastated. Had I been ready, it wouldn't have been a problem. Don't get me wrong, I can fight enough to save myself but sometimes that's not enough. I chose a gun because it's the most effective."
Her gaze softened along with the rest of her features as she considered what I said. She made her thoughts easy to read like they were subtitles on her pretty little forehead. I can tell my lies were getting through to her, and as guilty as I felt, I'm glad it was working.
"I enjoy having you over, but I don't want a gun in my house. I've experienced too much and knowing there's one in a place where I find peace, affects my peace. I want you around, but I want my peace."
I stepped back, bringing her along till my heels brushed against the pallets holding up the bed and plopped down on the mattress. A small yelp left her lips after falling on top of my body, and she placed both hands on my broad shoulders to brace herself. I snaked one arm around her waist and used the other to push a loose strand of hair behind her ear, letting my fingers caress her skin, savoring the warm sensation till it rested on the side of her neck.
"Emily, I can promise you I don't want any part in disrupting your peace. You want it out, I'll get it out. You want me out? I'll get out."
She eyed me and I could sense the worry that she'd have to choose. Only issue with that is, she didn't have to choose. Although I've been lying 75 percent of this conversation, my last statement remained true. I was more than willing to keep my gun away from her if it meant she'd be happy and smiling. I never wanted her to feel she needed to put me before her peace.
Using the pad of my thumb, I skimmed her bottom lip, admiring its fullness, then leaned in for a most refreshing kiss since the last time her lips were on mine. Her eyes fluttered closed, and she settled into my body as our mouths moved in sync. When we pulled away, our lips stayed seconds apart.
"Whatever you want, you got it." I said. "Now can I ask you something?"
"Yes." she nodded, her voice barely above a whisper.
Pulled back farther to see her whole face, my eyes danced from her lips to her eyes. "When something is upsetting you, or you have something, anything on your mind. Please talk to me. I do enjoy reading this book, but I'd rather you spoil the plot no matter how upsetting it can be."
Slowly, a smile started to tug at her lips. It was the most beautiful sight I've seen all morning and it was euphoric considering I still felt like shit.
"Finally, a real smile." I beamed.
"Can I tell you something?" she giggled.
"Anything." I said.
"Your breath smells like a rat crawled in there overnight and shitted then ate the shit then died because it was so shitty."
"You still kissed me."
"Because I didn't want you to feel bad if I curved you." she shrugged.
"Gee, thanks." I deadpanned.
She tossed her head back as she laughed and I just watched in pure satisfaction. Once she was down from her momentary high, she used her hand to squeeze my cheeks till my lips poke out and place a quick peck on them.
"You're welcome, pudding" she winked.
I chuckled, feeling more satisfied that we had come to an agreement and that the energy shifted. I now know that getting on Emily's bad side was not fun, so I wanted to try to steer clear from now on. I also don't want anymore fuck ups, lying to her about my secret life is hard enough as is, so I needed to be even more careful not to fuck up and mix the two. I want to keep Emily as far from that life as I could for her sake and mine.
Using my shoulders for a boost, Emily attempted to hop off my body but got caught up in my arms that halted her.
"Where do you think you're going?" I asked, pulling her body against mine.
"Back to the kitchen to finish making my breakfast." she said.
"What about me?"
"What about you?"
Looking up at her, I put on my best puppy dog pout and softened my voice for some razzle dazzle. "My head Hoit."
"Then lay back down." she suggested.
"Nooo-uh. Kiss it, make it feel better."
"Booooy." she rolled her eyes like i've been getting on her nerves all morning, but the act did not last long when she leaned in place a tender kiss right between my eyes. I low hum of approval rumbled in my chest as I felt her pillow cushions against my skin.
"Mmm, do it again." I said.
"Oh my gosh." she laughed.
She started but I quickly interrupted her with my finger pointing to a different location. Leaning in again, she replaced the same kiss as before on the tip of my nose.
"Oof, Again."
"Say please."
"Please."
Again, I pointed to a location and like I asked, she granted my request for another reaction. This time though, I pointed to a spot on my right shoulder and she gave it a little more attention than the other spots.
"Another one."
"Where?"
"Here." I pointed to a spot on my sternum.
She slowly closed in on that very spot, dragging her fingernails down my skin as she kissed down my chest without even being asked. I basked in the feel of her lips, growing excited by the second as I sat back and let her give my body sensual aid.
With her hands now on my thighs, she squatted in front of me after placing One open mouth kiss after the other till she reached a spot right above my belly button. she paused with her eyes low waiting for the next location.
"One more." I said.
Reaching for her hand this time, I used it to pinpoint the last spot I wanted her to show some affection. There was no break in eye contact as both our hands traveled across my skin till they both resided on the member that stood tall waiting for its turn. For a second her eyes left mine to acknowledge its presence and in that same second nothing but hunger swam in her honey pools. The thought of it made it twitch against her hand and a smirk spread across her face.
"Here?" she asked.
"Here."
That was all the green light she needed. I sat back and let her take over from here, practically submitting as I watched her take it in her hand and guide it towards her tongue. I shuddered and my eyes closed as soon as I felt the warm wetness. Not even a second later, they shot open again, mirroring hers that were filled with carnal desire as she trailed her tongue up my length till it reached the tip where a bead of precum waited for her like a cherry on top. Of course my girl wasn't going to let it go to waste, but instead of licking it up, she placed her soft lips on the very tip, giving it a smooch before licking the remnants off of them like a vixen in pure bliss.
Her lids opened slowly, revealing the eyes of a siren and I was her next sailor to prey on.
Her hand started to stroke me with the slow movements as she looked into my impure soul. "Feel better, or you need more?"
"More." I breathed, hissing as she changed her rhythm for a spiraling effect. She watched me, taking in all my reactions she caused that I knew for sure were fueling her libido.
"Of course, Anything for my baby." she said, her voice dipped in a spicy honey. Her hand increased in speed, going up to the tip to collect more precum and using it to coat my dick.
Her speed increased some more and I exhaled a moan of approval but then everything came to an abrupt stop. "AFTER You get rid of the gun."
And on that note, she stood up from her spot, reached for her phone and the pomegranate she came with, then walked her sexy ass out the room leaving me dumbfounded, rockhard and with the same headache.
