Explosions sounded and shook the ground as the woman ducked and continued running.

Her little bundle she kept cradled protectively in her arms, was safe as she tried to run for her life from what she didn't know.

"Hurry!" The guard shouted. The woman reached the gate and passed the guard her only and most precious treasure.

Her son.

The baby cried once ripped from the comforting warmth of his mother's arms. His mother tenderly kissed the child's forehead before drawing away slowly.

The Guard began to open the gate for the woman but when he looked up, she was gone. The howling and screams of the creatures outside the gate made him shudder.

He looked down at the child now in his arms. Little did he know what the child would be capable of when he grew older. 

Don't worry, this is just the prologue. The chapters will be longer. I promise. :)
