"What do you want?" I gulped.
The knife poked my throat. "Come with me." She ran the knife along my angular jaw.
I gulped. I could feel the razor poking me. I winced.
"What do you want?" I repeated, my voice raising.
"Shhh..." She brought her index finger to her lips.
I stayed silent. The knife continued running through my jaw to my neck.
"Don't hurt Melody," I pleaded, swallowing hard.
Her piercing blue eyes looked into mine. "Say you love me,"
I didn't respond. "You're crazy," I muttered.
"Say you love me!" She screamed. She cut me slightly on the left side of my neck. I winced, I thought she actually was going to cut it all the way.
"No! I don't love you!" I yelped.
"You weren't complaining the other night,"
"I was drunk," My voice trembled. "I didn't feel anything because it didn't mean anything!"
"Okay, you made the move," Kate's voice rose. "You leaned in to kiss me. You were all over me!"
I glared at her. "You have no idea what you started."
"Oh, and what is that?"
I felt rage rise in my stomach. "The girl that I love...I-I think I lost her. All because of you. I love her so much, and everything is ruined!"
"That's not my fault. We were both drunk, not just you!"
"You are the one who won't leave me alone! If you didn't mean for it to happen why can't it just fly by and we can put it behind us?"
Kate didn't respond.
I continued: "Who do you think you are?"
I could feel drops of blood sliding down my neck from the knife slit.
Kate leaned in, her face centimeters away from mine. "Come with me,"
"No!" I yelled.
"Come. With. M-"
"Jimmy?" I heard Melody's sweet voice echo.
"Melody!" I sucked in a breath in relief. She looked around, frazzled.
"Where are you?"
I looked back at Kate. Her eyes were wide. She opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out.
Busted.
Melody started running towards me. Finally, she noticed me.
"What are you doing?" Melody screamed, pushing Kate away.
"I'd watch it if I were you," Kate warned.
"Stop!" I yelled. My breath quickened. I inched closer to Kate, our faces close. "Touch Melody one more fucking time, I dare you."
Kate's mouth twitched, then she started cackling. "Just let go,"
I grabbed her wrist and twisted it. She wailed.

Melody

Jimmy and Kate were punching, kicking, and soon tackling each other. My heart beat sped up.
Then I remembered: I put a pocket-knife in my back pocket just incase. Jimmy sounded so frantic on the phone that I kept a knife because he sounded petrified. My instincts were telling me it was Kate.
I pulled it out, opening the knife and gazing at it. I looked at Kate, debating whether I should do it.
Within the seconds I saw them both and when I looked away, Kate was choking Jimmy.
I gasped, gulping loudly.
Jimmy's eyes were bloodshot. I walked over to Kate, then before I could stop myself, I stabbed her in the abdomen.
I dropped the knife, my jaw dropping. I looked over at Jimmy, who was sucking in desperate breaths. He vaguely stood up, glaring at Kate's lifeless body.
There was blood all over my hands. My jaw quivered. I couldn't believe what I just did.
"No..." I murmured. "No!" I screamed louder.
"Mel, it's okay," Jimmy hugged me from behind, trying to calm me down. "You did what you had to do. Shhh..."
I collapsed on my knees. "Nonono. I didn't do that, I didn't do that."
"C'mon, we need to get out of here before the cops come."
I looked up at him with my dreary eyes. "Just let the cops come! If we run away we'll just look bad!"
"C'mon," Jimmy managed to pick me up, one arm under my leg and the other around my neck.
He carried me to the car, laying my down in the passenger seat.
I was still shocked.
I killed somebody.
Jimmy climbed into the driver's seat, but he didn't start the car, he just gazed at me.
"Hey," Jimmy whispered, brushing his hand up and down my leg. "It was self-defense.

Jimmy

I know leaving Kate there without calling the cops was wrong, but it had to be done. It was a quick move because I don't want Melody to get arrested.
Melody looked back at me with her dark brown eyes. She sat up straighter, just looking into my eyes.
I leaned in to kiss her, then my lips landed on her soft lips.
She kissed back. I loved it when I kissed her, it made me feel so at home.
Then she pulled away. "I can't do this."
That felt like a knife in my chest. I thought that I hadn't lost Melody forever, but maybe I did.
