Chapter 15

Later that night, Jimmy dropped me off at my house, and went home. It was slightly drizzling outside, but according to the news, the hurricane passed.
It was 2 a.m., and I couldn't fall asleep. I grabbed my phone off my nightstand, and texted Jimmy:

Can't sleep. U awake?

I waited and waited. No answer. He was probably asleep. I put my phone back down and closed my eyes.
My phone buzzed, and my eyes shot open. I picked it up and read the message.

Same here. I miss you.

I giggled. I just saw him a few hours ago.

Whenever you miss me, you can text me. You know I'm always available :)

A within seconds, he answered:

Then I'd be texting you all day. Don't underestimate me.

I rolled my eyes jokingly and blushed. He was such a goofball.

Go to sleep, Fallon.

Just texting Jimmy made tingles rush up my spine. Words can't describe how much I love him. My heart is overfilled with joy that I met him.

Make me.

I pursed my lips. Now, I was craving his lips. I admit; I do miss him a lot.

I wanna see u so badly. I know I just saw you but seriously the struggle is real when you love someone so much...

My heart thudded as I pressed the send button.

Now you know how I feel.

Then, another text came in:

I'm starting to get really drowsy. Goodnight, my sweet Melody. Hope you have dreams as beautiful as you are xxx

I bit my lip, and turned off my phone. I turned to my side, and slowly drifted to sleep.

I woke up around 10:30 a.m. the next morning. I got a good eight hours of sleep.
I sat up, and stretched. I stood up and yawned. I walked to the bathroom, and ran a brush through my hair. I spotted my reflection in the mirror, and there were a mix of eyeliner and mascara under my eyes. I rolled my eyes. I forgot to take my makeup off from yesterday.
I grabbed a makeup remover wipe and wiped away all the makeup. I once again looked at myself in the mirror. I looked different without my pounds and pounds of makeup on. When I take off my eyeliner, my eyes look bigger. I wish I had any other color eyes except for brown. Brown is just... ordinary. I hated it. Jimmy's eyes are a different story; they're lighter, so they count as a hazel color. Mine are dark, they look black if you look at me from an angle.
I heard my phone buzzing from my nightstand. I speed-walked to it, and opened the text message.
It was from Jimmy. He sent two messages:

Open your door :)

He sent that fifteen minutes ago. Yikes. The other text said:

Ok seriously open your door I'm about to break in

I laughed. I ran my fingers through my hair, and leaped down the stairs to the door. I could see Jimmy grinning through the window.
I opened the door. Jimmy looked like he just rolled out of bed. He was wearing a black hoodie and plaid pajama pants. His hair was messy, as appose to normal.
"Hello," Jimmy bit his lip, looking me up and down.
"Hi, come in." Jimmy stepped in the house, and I closed the door behind him.
I turned to face Jimmy. "So, not to sound rude or anything, but why are you here?"
Jimmy grinned mischievously. "Well..." He pulled something out of his pocket. It was a box, the one where you put jewelry in. "I couldn't wait to give you this."
He held out the box, and I grabbed it. "What did you do?" I stared at him, sarcastically scolding him.
"Just open it."
I looked at him, and the box. I slowly opened it.
I examined it. It was a necklace with an M charm with a crystal next to it. I put my hand to my chest. "I can't accept this."
"Okay, I'll just take it back." Jimmy joked. He snatched it and started to put it back in his pocket.
"No, no, no."
"I thought so," Jimmy handed me back the box. I opened it, and looked at it again.
"Jimmy, it's so beautiful. Can you put it on for me?"
"Yup," I handed Jimmy the necklace and turned around. I lifted my hair up as Jimmy wrapped the necklace around my neck, and clipped it together.
I walked to the mirror that was hanging in the kitchen, and looked at it. The crystal glimmered in the sunlight shining through the window. It was so cute.
Jimmy stood behind me, smiling.
"Thank you so much." I gave Jimmy a peck on the lips.
Our face stood close. Jimmy ran his hand along my cheek. "You're face..." Jimmy paused. "It's so beautiful."
"Oh, stop." I blushed.
Jimmy stifled a laugh. I stepped backward.
"Do you wanna go somewhere? Like a bar?" Jimmy leaned against the kitchen counter.
"Uh, sure. A bar is fine. When?"
"Whenever you want."
"I don't care." I shrugged. "I mean, I'll get ready and we can go now."
"Yeah, sure. Go do that."
I leaped up the stairs, and walked to my bedroom. I closed the door behind me and walked to my closet.
I picked out a nice, black dress that hugged my thighs. Black dress shoes with kitten heels. I sprayed perfume on me, maybe a little too much, and put my hair in a side braid.
"Yo, Melody!" Jimmy yelled through the hall.
"Yeah?"
"I'm gonna go back home and get dressed, too. I'll text you when I get back."
"Alright." I said as I looked in the mirror. I decided not to wear eyeliner, just so Jimmy can actually see my face.

Ten minutes later, Jimmy texted and said that he was here. I picked up my clutch from my bed, and walked downstairs.
I ran out the door and walked to the car.
I climbed in and buckled my seatbelt. "Hey,"
"You look ravishing." Jimmy declared, backing out of the driveway.
"You too." Jimmy wore his usual: plaid shirt and jeans. He must have a thing for plaid shirts and jeans.

As we walked in the bar, music blared in my ears. It was I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight by The Cutting Crew.
Jimmy and I sat down in the lounge seats.
"Hey, I'm gonna run to the bathroom real quick. Get whatever you want, it's on me." Before I could respond, he strolled to the bathroom.
There was a guy a couple seats down from me who kept glimpsing at me. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat.
The bartender walked up to me. "What can I get you?"
"One shot please." He nodded, and started making it.
"Excuse me, lady." A voice said next to me said. I turned my head. It was the same guy who kept glancing at me and checking me out.
"What?" said angrily. What a creep.
"You're beautiful," He scooted closer to me, and ran his hand over my cheek. I grimaced, and pulled his hand away.
"I have a boyfriend," I admitted. It felt really refreshing to say it, actually.
"He doesn't have to know everything." He leaned in, and kissed me. His hand ran down my chest, and gripped my breast.
I pushed him away forcefully. "Get off of me!" I stood up. He, once again, leaned in to kiss me.
I tried to wriggle away from him, but he kept leaning in again.
"Yo!" Someone pushed him away. Jimmy.
He walked up to the guy. "Don't touch her!" He held up his hands defensively. Jimmy remained standing inches away from him. "Do you got me?"
He didn't answer. "Need I repeat it? Trust me, you don't wanna go there." He still remained silent.
The whole bar was gazing at them. A few pregnant seconds went by, and Jimmy punched him so hard I could hear the guy's jaw crack.
Ow, I thought. The guy ran his fingers along his angular jaw, wincing.
Jimmy finally backed away. He walked over to me, and squeezed my hand.
"Let's get out of here," Jimmy whispered in my ear. I nodded.
Jimmy drove home without any words. I kept glancing at him, and he still look angry.
Jesus, do I really mean that much to him?
During the ride, I mumbled, "I'm sorry."
Jimmy furrowed his eyebrows. "Why are you sorry?"
"Just... we shouldn't have gone. It's my fault."
"Mel, can you stop blaming everything on yourself? It's that guy's fault for being a perv." Jimmy rolled his eyes. "There was no way I was gonna let him get his hands all over you."
"I wouldn't have let him," I assured Jimmy.
He didn't respond. I took a deep breath, and looked out the window.
I could already tell Jimmy was hitting the breaking point. He was almost done with me.
