Chapter Five: First time in my life
One of the Trio
(they are identical)
Noah POV
I took the risk, and I miscalculated, apparently.
The rogues who chased us managed to get to us barely a couple of miles into the pack territory. My leg was bitten, and I tripped; Charlie rolled over my back screaming. I wasted no time as I stood up and took the protective stance before him, growling lowly. I'm strong, but I had no chance with ten wolves; thankfully, before I was attacked, the patrols from the pack were already there.
None of us had any more chance. Two got killed, the rest were taken into the dungeon, and the shift was forced on us and the next rogue collars. The patrol leader had noticed that Charlie was an omega, so I was sure he would be in the separated cell, and on that, I miscalculated. The guard ignored my screaming not to put Charlie with us; a fucking bastard, he didn't care that it was dangerous.
Corporate cells are meant for rogues not chained to walls but only in rogue collars, which prevent shifting or extending claws, but rogues are usually a bunch of dangerous guys despite their wolves. The moment that fucker closed the gate after us, I could feel Charlie clenching his hands on my shirt, trembling like crazy.
I quickly pushed him behind me into the corner of the cell. Twenty other guys, locked there with us, were watching too eagerly, so I was sure they had already distinguished Charlie's scent.
"I don't want any trouble," I said slowly, perfectly well aware that they wouldn't listen.
The first of them jumped on me, but I shoved him into the ground with Charlie still behind my back.
"You don't want any trouble? Then let us have him," one of the rogues said, and some of them giggled.
I clenched my fist, whispering:
"Over my dead body."
It actually happened very quickly, but I managed to make at least three of them bleed before I was pressed into the dirty ground. I could feel their kicks coming from everywhere. I felt helpless when two of them dragged Charlie to the middle of the cell.
"It's been so long since I had my dick wet," one said as the other pushed his tongue into Charlie's mouth. The omega trashed in their grip, but I knew it wouldn't save him.
Thankfully some of them had tried to have their turn first, and the brawl started, and then the guards came, thank Goddess.
Then I heard a strong howl, extremely terrifying. Charlie, who managed to get to me during the brawl, started trembling harder. The Alpha is coming; what would he do with us?
As I remember correctly, my previous Alpha used to accept rogues into our pack if they were strong or he found them helpful in any way, but if not... he liked hunting and tearing them apart. And since they put Charlie in here, I guess the wolves in this pack are not eager to show any pity.
My heart beats like crazy no matter what; I don't want to die. The roar gets stronger; I can hear steps but can't raise my eyes. That dominance is overwhelming; I have never felt Alpha's dominance so strong; I have never...
Linus starts trashing like crazy in my head, howling in enjoyment and happiness; my eyes start shifting as that scent, one of the most amazing scents I've ever felt hits my nostrils. I inhale deeply and raise my eyes.
She is so beautiful. Average size, but she he a strong posture and good body shape. Her long blond hair perfectly syncs with her pale skin; her eyes are now dark because her wolf is close, just like Linus would be if I weren't wearing the rogue collar.
I see her claws extended, and because of this, blood is dripping because she clenches her fists so hard, but the dominance, the dominance that comes from her in waves, is overwhelming. I'm looking at the Alpha. I'm sure of it. I'm looking at my second mate. I have two mates.
In complete silence, we look at each other as her eyes go from me to Charlie, for I have no idea how long it takes before three more people enter the cell. Big guys with black skin and treads; looking exactly the same.
"Troy and Tyler take those two to the packhouse and lock them into one of the guest's rooms, I want them fed and cleaned, but the collars will stay. Travis brings your brother to check on them. I want to know if they are healthy. And no one is to speak about what happened here.
Her voice is raspy as she gives this Alpha Command, and all the wolves bow in submission. I gulp hard as her eyes return to normal I finally see her baby-blue eyes. She doesn't seem happy, more like furious.
Somehow I understand her; Charlie and I are dirty rogues whom she has found in her cells, and she is unhappy. I gulp hard. Will she reject us? Order to kill us?
I feel Charlie's grip on my shoulder, and for the first time, I'm happy I'm not alone in all of this.
Tonya POV
Silver paws hit the ground; I'm thankful for the heavy rain; it helps both of us keep at least bits of our consciousness as fury, lust, and distrust pump in our veins.
I really wanted it; for a brief moment, I wanted their blood on my hands, the blood of all who dared to touch them. I know the drill; I remember the feeling. The last time I let my control snap, I killed many, too many, and even if all of them deserved that, I still remember the horrid feeling of standing in the pool of blood between fresh bodies and the sense of excitement in my chest. I felt like a monster the first time, and I was proud of it.
I managed to keep control this time, yet the desire to rip all prisoners' heads from their bodies was extremely strong. They touch them, they put their dirty hands on what belongs to me, and no one touches what is mine.
Another thing I must take under control is pure lust. I fucking almost mated in that dirty cell; thanks, Goddess, none of them moved or made a sound because I could've snapped at any time, and for sure, I would have both of them pressed to the wall by their throats and fucked them one by one.
Silver instincts have never pushed so much; she was in a haze, ready to mark them both instantly without any thought, horny as I have never felt her before.
But I can't be a mindless, lustful bitch in all of this. They are rogues; I know nothing about them, and despite the fact I do believe in mating bonds, I also learned the hard way that mates can be the greatest danger you ever encounter in your life.
I remember what happened to Kathy, what happened to her older brother Danny, what my uncle Hayden did to the mother of his children, what Kathy's father did the moment he found his mate, and what my father almost did to my mother. Fuck! I even remember the story of my fucking grandfather and his mate.
Hours in the rain, miles running, yet my heart is heavy. I'm an Alpha of Black Moon, so I must be cautious with it because no matter what, my pack comes first, not my mates, at least until they become a part of my pack...
I'm not surprised to see Kathy waiting for me in front of the packhouse, I shift, and she instantly wraps the fluffy towel over me.
"Hayden, Carson, and Tyler are waiting for you in your office. About your mate..."
"Mates," I interrupt her, and she frowns. "Both of them are my mates."
"They are secured in one of the guest rooms, warriors by the door. Travis, Troy, and my mother are with them. How is Silver?"
"Very happy, but at the same time, I don't know. That was the strongest pull toward something I have ever felt. But you know how strong Silver is, how difficult it is to deny her something that she wants, and how difficult it is to deny myself something I want, and we want them so much. The only reason Silver didn't do anything was because she didn't want to scare them."
"You know you must be extremely careful. You keep saying it's alright, but the fact that you shifted so early, places you on a very slim border to going feral, no matter how much you don't want it."
I sigh heavily, understanding her point of view. I don't know how I feel about having two mates since Silver's emotions are so overwhelming that I barely understand what's happening around me.
I go to my room to change first, not paying too much attention to my bloodied feet; Silver was extremely fast during this run. Then I go to my study where I'm expected.
"So," I say, sitting behind my desk and looking at all gathered.
"They seem healthy in general. Just one of them was beaten in the cell, he was battered pretty rough, but he will be fine. The second one, the omega, is underweight, and that's it for the quick check-up I gave them. They need the full one, but I didn't want to push them," says Carson. " They were terrified with everything that happened today."
Tyler takes a big breath and says:
"According to what I heard from the patrol, the rest of the rogues chased your mates to our land, but the omega didn't shift. He stayed this whole time in his human form. The other one carried him to the dungeon on his back. I smelt him; it seems he hasn't shifted in quite a while."
My eyes are slits; that news is disturbing. Regular shifting is essential if you are connected with your wolf; the one who doesn't shift usually doesn't have a wolf or went through something terrible that made them and their wolves too weak or hurt to shift.
"Anything else?" I ask.
"The bigger one was trained, I would pick him as a former warrior, and I'm sure he is not rogue for long."
I look at uncle Hayden waiting for his voice in all of this; he notices it and smiles gently:
"As always, I recommend being cautious but having faith in the future. Your mate is here; that's a reason to celebrate. That's a reason to try it at least, try to know him, and..."
"Them," I interrupt. "They both are my mates."
"Alright, that's rare but not impossible. But this again proves to us how strong Silver is; mates are supposed to be a perfect balance. You will want them, desire them day and night, but you must be extremely careful not to snap. Your wolf is an Alpha, and Alphas have a tendency to brutally take what they think they have a right to take. I had that conversation with your father when he found your mother; it will be difficult, Tonya. But I'm also a helpless romantic, and I believe in destiny. I ask for some patience from you. All of you will need time to figure it out."
"I'm less enthusiastic," Tyler gives me a stern look. "They are rogues who came to our land, and no matter what, that's the trust they shouldn't have."
I smirk; I'm not surprised; although the Trio looks totally identical, their personalities come from different planets, and Tyler is the most suspicious of all of them.
"Will you go to see them?" my uncle asks.
I shake my head; I'm still too agitated. There is a high chance that Silver will try to mate, and mindless sex under the control of our wolves is not the best start to any relationship.
So instead of seeing them, I go to Beta's apartment because I need a friend now.
Sonya, Kathy's daughter, opens the door and lets me in. Kathy is playing with Hank on the carpet, and I go to sit with them. Silver likes children; she is always calmer when any are around us.
Sonya is seven now and a very stoic and quiet girl with dark eyes, skin, and curled hair; she doesn't ask many questions but is a very sharp silent observer. She may not know the details, but she asked about her father only once after he was gone, just once. Hank is totally the opposite, full of energy; he is loud and never stops moving. Unlike his sister, he hasn't asked about his father, not even once. When he was born, his father was already banished from my pack and from our lives.
"Let's talk about something more related," Kathy says." We have hunters and strange creatures to worry about."
"At first, I thought about moving all pack members who are not warriors to the second and third territories until we finished the negotiations, but I changed my mind. I think it will be better if everybody stays where they want. James will have to move out to the second territory; I want him to deal with everything in my stead as an Alpha and contact me only with critical decisions. I want you here with me; I will need you. If you want to send away your children, you may, but I'm sure aunty Celia would like to stay here and spend some time with her brother.
"Warriors?"
"We will keep them on permanent duty during negotiations, only about twenty of them. I don't want unnecessary tension. My father wants to check the area of the vanished packs thoroughly and requests uncle Kyle, as our best tracker, to go there with our tracker's squads, which means that uncle Rob would go with them, and we would be out of the Head Warrior for some time. I want to give that position temporarily to Sam; he will have a chance to prove himself."
"I will consult with Rob and choose the warriors. Obviously, the Trio will stay here, and so will Carson and Hayden, and what about Rosie?" Kathy averts her eyes when she mentions my sister.
"I also need to take care of her "situation," but I think she should do what she wants if you agree, of course."
Kathy doesn't look happy that she may have to separate from her children, even if for a short time, but security is still the most important thing to be ensured, so she must make a difficult decision. And my mates, I wonder if I should send them away, and yet that's the last thing I want. I may have enough strength for now to keep my distance, but surely not to be separated from them.
I clench my fist, it's not the first time I feel vulnerable, but it's the first I actually like it. First time in my life I feel complete.
