♥️Chapter XXI♥️

⬆️Kasey & Raina Riele

"You okay, Kasey?"

Kasey had just finished talking to the gatecrasher known as Raina Riele, literally slamming the door on her.

Now he was resting on the door, with his parents wanting to know what was up.

For some reason, and he didn't even know why, Kasey had kept on hyperventilating as if he had just done a marathon or something.

Actually, talking to someone like Raina Riele was indirectly as stressful and tiring as running a marathon itself.

So it made sense.

They didn't really know about Raina Riele's feud with Leilani, not just because Kasey didn't like talking badly about people.

But also because he didn't really find it necessary to do so, Raina wasn't really that important after all.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Why?"

"Who was that?" Marissa wanted to know, carrying a crying Aretha as Antonio had carried a crying Franklin instead.

They were playing tag and Aretha had fallen down, with Franklin accidentally falling right on top of her, it was the cutest but the saddest thing.

The twins had been told not to play tag a lot of times but they didn't listen... then again they were seven, so could they really have been blamed?

"Erm.."

Kasey's eyes wandered for the longest time.

And that was the problem.

If he had said that Raina Riele was his friend, then that would have been the biggest lie of mankind.

But they weren't exactly enemies though.

Kasey's enemies were people he really didn't like.

He couldn't tolerate Raina Riele but he didn't dislike her enough to be called his enemy.

He sighed because he didn't like lying to his parents, unlike Raina Riele who was still waiting outside.

She wasn't giving up.

"Raina Riele."

"Who's Raina Riele?"

The worst specimen of human material, that was who Raina Riele was.

One negative word didn't describe Raina Riele enough.

Five negative words seemed reasonable.

Actually screw that.

Five hundred million was enough.

Although Kasey had just said that Raina Riele was Leilani's ex best friend and no one in Unsuspected Love had liked her.

So they didn't know why she was here at the moment.

"Kasey," Antonio stated. "Don't say nobody likes Raina Riele. That's very harsh."

"Have you guys met her?" Kasey had replied, folding his arms. "She's so annoying."

There was actually some goodness in Raina Riele.

One just had to dig really deeply to find it.

Kasey sure didn't.

That was when Marissa had said that everybody in life had deserved a second chance.

Unless they had done something extremely dreadful, for example killing someone.

"Yes, everybody," Kasey had agreed. "Except from Raina Riele!"

Marissa and Antonio couldn't really have said that the girl was bad because they hadn't actually spoken to her before.

Either way, they had vehemently wanted Kasey to go and talk to her and find out why she was truly here in the first place.

And normally they wouldn't have forced Kasey or anyone else to do something that they didn't want to do.

It just didn't seem right that Kasey was judging a girl that he didn't really know.

Leilani had said some nasty things about Raina Riele, especially after they had fallen out, but his parents had a point.

Kasey only knew her from rumours really.

He hadn't actually spoken to her like that before.

Rolling his eyes, Kasey had then muttered the word fine under his breath as he had gone outside to find Raina Riele still patiently standing there.

He groaned, before closing the door and folding his arms.

Raina Riele still had her- or more specifically RonReaco's costume on, but Kasey had taken the pizza away from her.

Despite the fact that he didn't order it.

"What are you still doing here?"

"I'm not giving up until I become friends with Leilani again," she had muttered. "And how did you know that I was me?"

Kasey didn't say anything.

He had then gone close to her, removing her fake moustache which RonReaco had gotten for Christmas a few years back.

Not only that, but he had removed her sunglasses and her hat that had said Pappa John's on it.

Then he had raised an eyebrow at her.

"You were saying?"

Raina Riele didn't say anything.

She had just groaned to herself as she had stomped one of her feet on the floor.

"Fine..."

"What do you want? I don't like you."

Harsh but true.

The truth did hurt after all.

She had then explained how she had come here to apologise to Leilani.

So she had actually come here just to apologise, and maybe even join Unsuspected Love if she was extremely lucky.

That was up to Kasey... and Raina Riele wanting to apologise to Leilani was up to Leilani in the meantime.

He had said no to her very sternly.

When Raina Riele had said but, that was when Kasey had accidentally on purpose had a go at her to leave and to not return back.

Completely forgetting everything that his parents, both of them in fact, had just told the guy.

Be nice to Raina Riele, even if she doesn't deserve it. You being nice to a person you don't like says a lot about you.

They didn't explicitly say that to him but it was kind of obvious.

Either way, as Raina Riele was about to leave with her suitcase, that was when Kasey had taken a deep breath and he had called her back.

Very.

Reluctantly.

"Wait. Raina."

She had turned around after debating with herself on whether she had actually heard him or not, and she did.

She didn't say anything to Kasey, as Kasey had muttered let's talk under his breath, with his eyes wandering like crazy again.

"Let's talk? Are you sure?" Raina Riele wanted to know, flawlessly hearing Kasey even though he didn't want her to.

He had nodded, with Raina Riele therefore going over to him as they had talked to each other about everything on the balcony.

They had sat on the steps for a long time, with Kasey wanting to get deep with Raina Riele about why she had decided to leave Leilani.

"Level with me. Why did you leave Leilani?"

She didn't even know.

She just did, and it wasn't even worth it anymore.

"I don't know, but I didn't mean any harm, I promise. I just thought-"

"You thought that Leilani would have always been there for you," Kasey had finished off for her. "That's not how life works. Even the nicest people have limits. I know this from experience. That doesn't make Leilani an exception."

Harsh but true.

But at the same time, Raina Riele had really needed to hear it, whether she had liked it or not.
