♥️Chapter XVIII♥️

Hey hey hey!
I know I don't normally update on Fridays but I've been so busy lately. Just kind of wanted to make up for it today. Enjoy. 🙃🙂

Double update today, why not?

After Kasey had finished catching up with his father about Unsuspected Love as well as his impromptu sleepover with them, it was finally time for the sleepover to begin.

Which didn't happen straight away, but it was going to happen eventually.

Kasey had two siblings, who were both twins.

The girl was called Aretha whilst the boy was called Franklin instead, with his mother Marissa deciding to name them that because of the singer.

Aretha Franklin was one of her favourite singers when she was still alive, so Marissa had used the chance of having twins that were opposite genders to name them after her.

Literally.

Aretha had been playing with Franklin all this while, and now she had just gone to Kasey.

"Kasey, come play Barbie with me!"

She clearly didn't realise that he was a boy.

Not that boys couldn't play with Ken although Kasey didn't normally.

But then again, she was only seven after all.

He had lifted her up before putting her on his lap and staring at her intently.

"Aretha, I can't."

"Why not?" She frowned. "Franklin's playing with me right now. And he's a boy. So therefore why can't you?"

Because he had an unplanned sleepover to plan.

Kasey didn't say anything though, he had just sighed to himself before looking over at Antonio.

His father just shrugged at him, then Marissa had said to him that the person she was talking to on the phone right now suddenly wanted to talk to him.

Kasey had watched him leave, with Aretha just staring at him.

"I'm waiting for an answer! You always play with me Kasey."

The word always was most definitely an overstatement, but Kasey decided not to say anything about that.

He had explained to her that he was having an impromptu sleepover, with Franklin now joining the conversation because he wanted to know what that was.

Seemed like a lot of explaining to do, that was for sure.

"A sleepover that's not planned."

"Why would you host an unplanned sleepover?" Franklin wanted to know, with Kasey sighing.

"Psychology project. The hypothesis is that an unplanned sleepover will end up the same way as a planned one... or if not then worse, clearly. It's also a test to see if we can all cope well under pressure and without preparing something beforehand."

The twins had looked at one another confusedly, then at Kasey again.

He facepalmed himself.

Of course they wouldn't understand what that meant, they're seven.

Oh well, it was worth a try he guessed.

"Can we come to the sleepover?" Franklin begged, with Aretha smiling in the meantime.

They were cute and Kasey had hated to turn them down like that but he had to.

"It's for Unsuspected Love only."

Or so he thought.

"And we can invite people who don't do psychology to our sleepovers, but they have to be ex psychology students from our school. Nobody else."

So yeah, no family members or friends.

Especially those that didn't go to Kasey's school.

"That's not fair." Aretha complained, folding her arms and scowling at Kasey.

"Besides. You guys are way too young."

He was about to say that they also wouldn't have understood the purpose of the project albeit didn't because just there and then... the doorbell rang.

Must have been Unsuspected Love, and it was.

Carefully removing the twins from his lap, Kasey had then gone to the door.

They had all seemingly coincidentally arrived here at the same time.

When he had seen them, he had greeted them with them all hugging each other.

They even had a signature rhyme too:

Tryna be unique
Only place God above
We so dope and we on fleek
'Cause we Unsuspected Love

Then they had all put their arms in the middle and after the rhyme, they had lifted it up and cheered. Really close friendship group.

"Y'all came here at the same time?"

Yeah, coincidentally.

Because Sitara and Serenity didn't really live too far away from here, and Rayselle could drive, he had therefore dropped them here.

When seeing them walking there.

Sienna Rose and Leilani on the other hand had taken the bus here.

Either way, they had all come in, completely mesmerised over Kasey's insanely large house.

He had told them that the sleepover was going to be in his father's crib downstairs, showing them the way.

Kasey had then told Marissa and Antonio that he was going to start the sleepover now.

They had told him to have a lot of fun, and not to worry too much if things had turned out badly because it was supposed to be unplanned anyway.

Which was what Marissa had said to him.

Antonio and Kasey had just more or less looked at her blankly.

"What? I'm just stating the truth," she beamed, shrugging. "Anyway, you and the rest of Unsuspected Love go and enjoy yourselves Kasey. Oh, and try not to do anything stupid."

He had thanked his parents again for letting him have this completely unplanned sleepover, then he had gone to see his friends downstairs.

That was what Antonio's crib had looked like.

Goodness knew why Kasey's father had decided to call it his crib, it was just lowkey the basement after all.

"Damn, Kasey!" Rayselle commented. "If I knew your house was this fancy then I would have come here everyday. I don't even live too far away from here either. Like Sitara and Serenity."

Kasey chuckled.

"Well, mi casa es su casa," Kasey had reminded them, taking their suitcases for them.

They could have sorted out the rooms later.

For some reason, they had more than enough guest rooms- explained why the house was so expensive when Marissa and Antonio had first bought it.

They could have also slept here too, it was large enough.

Unsurprisingly... having an unplanned sleepover was hard.

When Kasey had put all of the suitcases in one corner with Leilani and Sienna Rose's help- there was silence for the longest time.

"Uhm..."

This was unusual... Kasey needed something to break the ice.

He had noticed that there was Twister in the far corner, showing it to them and asking them if they wanted to play it.

They did.

Sitara didn't for some reason, even though she had loved the game.

All of them had looked at her blankly.

She felt guilty about Raina Riele.

That was why.

None of them knew that she was coming.

"Whether I like the game or not, I just don't want to play, okay? Leave me alone!"

Then she had stormed out of the room.

Inevitably leaving the rest of them to wonder what might have been up with her as well as what had gotten into her at the same time.
