♥️Chapter XLV♥️

"So what's the plan?"

Kasey had just finished trying to get the tiara from Giovanni and Valentina, only for them to not believe him.

He had showed them a video on how the tiara wasn't even worth it in the first place.

And even though Giovanni and Valentina didn't explicitly tell him this; of course they weren't going to believe him. The video was uploaded about six months ago now.

A lot of things could have changed since then and they did.

Leilani had said that the reason Kasey had failed getting the tiara, besides his pretty atrocious lying skills was the fact that he was too explicit about it.

Leilani was going to be taking a more indirect approach to this whole thing.

Raina Riele was following him because Kasey really needed a break from this whole thing.

She didn't even know what the plan was though except from Leilani apparently wanting to steal the tiara from Valentina's bag because it was for her anyway.

"Yeah, exactly. I'll steal it silently, then when I give it to you that's when you take it back and go back to Kasey. You understand?"

"But what if this whole thing doesn't work?"

He stared at her blankly, not saying anything.

"Think positively and positive things will happen. Don't your parents tell you to do that like all the time?"

He wasn't wrong and now Raina hated knowing Leilani for so long because he could have literally used all of her parents' past quotes to her against her.

Oh well though, if it had gotten the job done then who was Raina to complain about anything?

Plus it wasn't even like she was doing the work, Leilani was doing the work and she was just assisting him to be honest.

"I can see the topaz tiara in Valentina's bag. I'll try and get it when she's not looking. You hide in the place behind me, and when I get it, I'll give it to you. Then you go back to Kasey."

She had nodded and she had hidden in some cupboard or something behind Leilani. In the meantime, he had tried to talk to Valentina.

Valentina in the meantime was on the phone, waiting for Giovanni to come out of the toilet.

She was busy texting someone so much that she didn't notice Leilani trying to steal the tiara away from her bag right now.

Come on man, where is it? Leilani had asked himself, deeply searching for it. It has to be in here somewhere.

The most ironic thing was the fact that her bag wasn't even that large. When Leilani had eventually felt the topaz tiara in her bag, that was when Kasey had decided to text him.

He had groaned to himself, not knowing what Kasey had said or what he needed.

He didn't even have the time to check (Kasey had just texted are you okay? to him though), and when he had finally felt the tiara that was when he had said yes to himself, it was in this sort of black leather case that was zipped up.

As he was about to leave though after getting the tiara, that was when Valentina had noticed what he was doing, calling his name.

Inevitably Leilani didn't get the tiara straight away, it had actually taken him almost five minutes to do so.

"What do you think you're doing in the staff member toilet, Leilani?"

Crud.

Leilani had totally forgotten the fact that Valentina had encountered both him and Kasey earlier on.

She had kept on infuriatingly screaming at Giovanni when the auction had happened.

At least she hadn't noticed the fact that the topaz tiara was stolen otherwise he was done for and he knew it.

Leilani had given the topaz tiara case to Raina, texting her to be careful with it as she had headed back to Kasey.

What about you?

Valentina just caught me.

"Hold up, you're a staff member?"

Both her and Giovanni were staff members apparently, with Leilani wanting to know if that was the case then why did they have to auction for what they wanted?

Surely if they were staff members then they could have gotten things for free right?

Exactly, so what was the problem here?

"We had to auction to make things fair for other people," Valentina had explained. "But you better get out of these toilets now after you tell me why on Earth you're here right now."

Leilani couldn't even have said that he had gotten lost because he had been here before which he had told Kasey and Valentina was eavesdropping.

"I was just... admiring the paintings."

Thank heavens this was a museum, the kid didn't know what he would have said otherwise. Even better, an art museum.

It was called Surreal For Real because 90% of the painting in the art museum were surreal paintings but 10% were not.

There was a painting right opposite them called The Persistence Of Memory by Salvador Dali and it had looked like this:

Luckily Valentina too had liked it, now wanting to know what Leilani thought it had meant.

How was he supposed to know?

He freaked.

"Erm... maybe that time is limited so we should live each day as if it was our last? Or maybe the clocks are melting because nothing lasts forever in life? Gee. I don't know, Valentina. The possibilities are endless."

She chuckled, thinking the same thing.

"You better leave before someone notices that you're not a staff member, and I'm sorry for being annoying in the waiting room."

"Sure. And sorry for being rude. I'm saying that on me and Kasey's behalf."

Valentina had forgiven him and the other way around, which was just in time too as by the time Leilani left - Giovanni had just arrived.

They had finished what they wanted to do, it had taken them three tries but they had gotten their ending result at the end of the day.

Stealing sucked but they had to do what they had to do they had guessed.

They would have gone to House of Fraser to meet both Rayselle and RonReaco but they didn't because they didn't have any time to do so at the moment.

Their biggest priority right now was getting Princess Herizen the real tiara before it was too late for them to do so.

The three of them were going to the castle straight away before it was too late. The train station was a ten minutes walk away from here and their train was in eight minutes.

One might have wondered if Valentina had noticed that her tiara had been stolen.

Yes, she did- just as the three of them were about to leave.

"Those meddling kids stole the tiara!"

As soon as Kasey, Raina and Leilani had heard that, they had looked at one another, with none of them saying anything.

"Uhm... what do we do now?" Kasey panicked.

There was only one thing they could have done.

Yeah.

They ran.

As fast as they could.

As fast as their legs could carry them.
