♥️Chapter LVII♥️
Double update
Sorry for not updating yesterday, I wasn't really feeling it so I didn't want to give y'all a half hearted update.
But I'm feeling it now and to make up for yesterday, like I said, it's a double update
Happy reading!
Riki Yvette Westmoreland (picture above).
That was who the guest speaker was.
Raina Riele had talked to her the other day at TTNT just before the very unexpected hostage situation.
Her daughter Brianni was celebrating her 13th birthday back then, being very grateful for what Riki had given her.
It was basically a necklace with her name on it. And good Lord, it was absolutely beautiful.
It had said Brianni on it instead of Brianna.
Riki Yvette had bought her a present on the spot because she wasn't very rich, therefore having to work extra shifts just to provide for her one and only daughter.
If she was here then she would have remembered exactly what Riki Yvette had told her.
"How to be thankful for what you have?"
Raina Riele nodded.
"I've always... I've always kind of struggled with that, hurting people around me unintentionally and then some."
"Trust me, we have too, especially how we're living on welfare benefits," Riki Yvette had explained kindly to Raina Riele. "But you've seriously got to remember that some people out there literally have nothing. And that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. If you don't appreciate what you have, it would surely be taken away from you. You don't want that to happen, do you?"
She shook her head.
Raina Riele had known that from experience.
Raina had struggled with gratitude a lot so she had asked her for advice.
Long story short, she had eventually ended up meeting them, with Kasey, Leilani and her also saving her and Brianni's life.
When people had seen her, they had opened their mouths in shock, instantly recognising her through Dhar Mann videos.
Normally she had played the poor woman or maybe even a teacher, either way she was very nice and Kasey was glad to have met her.
"For those of you who made fun of the fact that Unsuspected Love failed the mission..."
That was why Kasey had brought her.
He had a feeling that if he had admitted he had failed the mission to the class then they would have made fun of him, which was exactly what they had done.
Not just that but people may have thought that he was lying when he had told them that there was really a hostage situation at TTNT a couple of days ago now.
Sure it was on the news and in newspapers, but no pictures of the hostages were actually taken, except some kind of unintentional mugshot of Raina Riele.
"Did you guys know that Kasey, Raina Riele and Leilani literally saved my life?"
"Raina Riele ain't even in this class though." Someone had pointed out.
That was besides the point.
Raina Riele had used to take Psychology but she had dropped it for Sociology, because back then she didn't seem interested in the subject.
But boy if she had known that they were going to be having some impromptu sleepovers then she surely would have stayed.
Even then though... her teacher was nowhere near as lenient as Mrs Loveday, so they probably wouldn't even have let her class do anything like this.
Even if she wanted to.
His haters had kept silent, regretting ever making fun of him, as they really should have done.
"Yes. Exactly. That's what I thought. And don't think I didn't hear what Mrs Loveday said, because I did. She's right. You guys spend so much time focusing on the mistakes of others that you seem to forget the fact that you're not mistake free either."
After that she had explained exactly how Kasey, Leilani and Raina Riele had managed to save her life.
It was quite simple really, they had just thought of an escape route to leave TTNT without getting caught and it had involved them.
Putting the plan into action was a lot easier said than done and they had done it. Serenity did get shot though, that was the only downside.
Unsuspected Love didn't even know if she had died or survived. They hadn't heard from Sitara or Serenity in a couple of days now however they didn't want to assume the worst.
Brianni would have come too but she didn't because she was currently in school. Despite this though, Riki Yvette had uploaded a video of her.
It was pre-recorded although nobody had known that because it had seemed live.
Either way, she too had thanked Kasey for everything, most especially how if they hadn't interfered then she would have died on her thirteenth birthday, which was a huge superstition right there.
As in the number 13 normally being an unlucky number.
Oh my gosh!
Can I just say a huge thank you to Unsuspected Love? Brainni had said through the video. If it wasn't for you guys then I wouldn't even be alive right now and I'm not joking!
Kasey, Leilani, Raina Riele, thank you so much for thinking of that escape route for us to leave. Even better - thank you so so much for involving me and my mum.
I couldn't be more grateful !
"How can you be Riki Yvette's daughter when you look nothing like her?" Someone wanted to know.
Brianni had looked more like her father compared to Riki Yvette, that was why. She wasn't even adopted or anything, no. She was Riki Yvette's biological daughter.
You're talking to a pre recorded video, so if you ask me any questions, I can't hear you.
A lot of people had sniggered at that with Kasey thanking Riki Yvette just before she was about to leave.
She had received some claps from the class, with some people being kind enough to actually apologise to Kasey as well as the rest of Unsuspected Love for making fun of them for failing the mission.
Sheniqua and Sakura however?
They had continued to give Kasey a dirty look, only for him to do the same thing back even though that wasn't actually his intention.
At the end of the presentation, Unsuspected Love had gotten an A in their impromptu sleepover.
It would have been slightly higher had they done well in the mission albeit they would have taken their chances.
Rayselle wanted Mrs Loveday to raise their grade to an A plus for telling the truth about them failing though sadly that wasn't how things had worked around here.
After class and during break time, they had decided to go and meet Raina Riele who was busy sorting out her locker for the next class, aka Maths.
Leilani was the one that had covered her eyes with his hands, making her guess who it was as well.
She grinned, before saying his name and turning around to see the rest of them.
"So how did it go? What grade did you guys get for your impromptu sleepover?"
No one had said anything to each other for the longest time, that was until they had all shouted an A almost simultaneously.
Things were really looking up for this group because all of their hard work had paid off.
Unluckily for them though, this didn't really last.
As they were all celebrating over their grade, as even Raina Riele knew exactly how hard it was for someone to get an A in Psychology - in their school anyway...
Sienna Rose had gotten an abrupt text from Sitara.
She had read it, then again and then again.
This had sounded way too surreal to be true at the moment.
"Oh my gosh you guys."
Looking at her in confusion, they all wanted to know what was up.
"Serenity just died."
No one had said anything for the longest time, looking at one another and feeling sorry for Sitara.
Serenity was the only sibling she had and now she was gone, just like that. Even worse than that, they were twins.
Sitara was surprised but not surprised at the same time. Serenity did get shot after all.
Even then, she was barely 18. They had kind of just turned 17, like three months ago now.
Kasey was curious as to why she didn't post anything on the group chat. She had told Sienna Rose about her sister's death privately it seemed.
She was too embarrassed, that was why. By far too embarrassed. So she wanted Sienna Rose to tell the rest of them the dreadful news.
Leilani had suggested that they should have visited her after school, which everyone was in favour of except from Raina Riele.
It was a school day for starters, secondly Sitara didn't like her, thirdly she probably wanted some privacy.
"We should still visit her either way. She's part of the group and we said that we'd be with each other through thick and thin," Sienna pointed out.
Plus Sitara was probably over hating Raina Riele anyway as she had more important things to think about, no offence to Raina Riele.
So straight after school they had visited her to pay their respects. They didn't tell her their plan, they really wanted to surprise the girl.
And hopefully she was in the mood for it as well.
