The first time he had seen her after realising the feelings she'd managed to etch within him, Seth's heart had skipped way too many beats to be healthy.

The halls were crowded and that familiar echo of chatter and murmurs and laughter filled his ears as he attempted to prepare himself for the night's challenge. "The right headspace" had been missing for quite sometime now and though he refused to acknowledge the fact that he couldn't really get through push-ups without pausing in between as his mind wandered, he knew he was off his game - and he couldn't be. But she was there, down across the hall with her infectious laugh and her beautiful face that just hurt him to look at.

She was with Charlotte and Styles, lighting up the entire backstage area with her puns and the sheer radiance that accompanied her smile.

And as usual, he walked past her without a glance in her direction nor a greeting or introduction. Too scared, too scared.

The second time, it was better; his heart still missed a couple of beats but he took a deep breath with the intention of choking out a "hello, how are you?" when she walked past. Seth studied her footsteps with his peripheral vision, losing all intentions to stretch out before his match like he should have been doing. One, two, three, four, fi-

"Hey champ."

The breath he'd been holding was practically punched right out of him by the sound of her voice and it was like his head was glued into place; he couldn't even turn to look at her until a good five seconds later when he realised what exactly had happened.

Pretending not to have noticed her at all like the idiot that he was, Seth finally turned his head to give her a grin of his own, hoping his breathing didn't seem as heavy as it felt. "Hey, Bex. Been some time, how's it going?" Seth was so nervous it wasn't even funny; he was glad Dean was nowhere in sight, otherwise this could've taken a much worse turn.

"I'm great," she replied, that bright white smile gracing her lips as usual. "I was actually wondering if you-"

"Rollins, what the hell are you sitting around for! You're up in ten!" The quite angry-looking producer down the end of the hall yelled, and Seth cursed in his mind, feeling adrenaline rush into him as he turned to face her again.

"You were wondering if?" He didn't care if he sounded desperate; if Seth didn't find out right now what she was wondering, he would lose his mind trying to guess.

"Oh it's alright, I can always tell ya later-"

"No no-"

"Rollins!"

Fuck him and fuck his luck; fuck his luck so much.

Seth was losing all hope; at nights in his hotel room, thoughts of her helped to drown out the internal screams of all the things had given up in his life to be in a company that gave him an inadvertent shove every time he seemed to climb to its top.

And then the next time he saw her - the third - it was after the show was over and the curtains had closed, but she was neither smiling nor laughing this time. The stars in her eyes were replaced with tears and sobs that she attempted to hide by placing her head in her hands, her back slumped against a black Range Rover.

"Woah woah..Becky?" He was urgent with his movements, almost as though desperate to give her any sort of comfort. Seth placed his hands on her shoulders gently, but her face stayed hidden behind her hands as her body shook slightly with the force of her cries. "What's the matter? Come on, please. Don't cry."

Within seconds, Becky's hands fell from her face, the strands of her bright orange hair that only seemed fitting since the light she usually radiated was that of the sun were dull, stuck to her cheeks due to their dampness. Seth unhesitatingly put them back into place, thumb caressing the side of her face; it felt wrong for her to be like this. She should've been laughing, talking with those animated hand gestures that everybody seemed to chuckle at, letting some God-awfully adorable jokes.

"I just lost my father," was all she revealed, before she clutched at his shirt and found solace in his arms when he pulled her into them. For what felt like hours, neither spoke; he just held her there, and he could have forever.

And now tonight when Seth looked down at her in his arms yet again as they lay back on his couch with their eyes struggling to stay open and his hands lost in her hair, it felt right. The Christmas tree they'd spent the last three hours attempting to set up was finally standing tall too, the first of many more to come.

"I'm glad I met you," She said softly, and Seth's grin was automatic. "One could say you make my life..bex-traordinary."

God did he love her. "I sure do."
