Day-3
Day 3 03.10.21
Yet another boring day it is. I'm now here writing at dawn with nothing to do with myself. I don't even know how I made it through two years without my family. All the credits goes to Seokjin.
He sighed and closed the diary. Small amount of light was coming through the curtains of the window, indicating the sun rising.
He got up from the chair and pulled back the curtains, letting all the light come through. He opened the windows and was greeted by the fresh wind that blew. He closed his eyes, listening to the birds chirp.
It was still early in the morning, so there wasn't much vehicles in the streets.
He can't go to his friends house. He's probably sleeping right now as he has to leave for work at 7am and will probably come back exhausted at 9pm.
His stomach rumbled. He looked at the clock. It was exactly 5am. He went downstairs to the kitchen to feed his empty stomach.
It was really dark in the kitchen and he could see nothing. He switched the lights on and looked around the room.
"Oh wow. I-I guess I need to clean the kitchen?"
He smiled awkwardly at the thought. He made his way to the fridge and pulled open the door. It was empty. Only a carrot on the top shelf. He rolled his eyes and shut the door so harshly that the photo frame on top of the fridge fell, but luckily, he caught it. He sighed and put it back to it's original place.
Now one of the most annoying thing about being a mute is definitely shopping. Only he knows how he manages to get what he wants after getting several yells from the shop keepers and hundreds of nasty looks.
He's used to this but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.
Today wasn't any different. The convenience store lady kept on shouting at him, telling him to speak something until he pulled out his shopping list in front of her and wrote that he was mute on it. And yes. He got the glares again.
Life goes on like this again.
---------------
It was noon and yet he was left with nothing to do. He was done cleaning the kitchen. He was now sitting in front of the table in his living room, with his dairy opened in front of him again. He knows it's useless to write on it since no one will read anyways but atleast he could pass his time, right? He opened the same page of day 3 and started writing.
Yesterday was a lot of fun. Seokjin took me to the arcade. We had a lot if fun. Seokjin kept losing everytime. I know he did that on purpose. Everytime I played, he cheered for me loudly. I hope I had confidence like him.
He smiled at the paragraph he just wrote.
Today when I went shopping, the same thing happened. I got yelled at in front of many people on public. Kids laughed at me. But couldn't blame them either. It's normal for them to laugh at disabled people cause they are unable to do the simplest things.
He closed it back, deciding to write just about a page each day. He opened the TV and switched through the channels. A topic in bold caught his attention.
"The huge building of Kang's Company had caught on fire."
His eyes widened.
"Isn't that Seokjin's company?"
He looked at the video of the burning building and the reporter information about the situation.
"The fire is rising and it's now almost impossible to get anyone out of it. The people we've managed to get out are severely injured and are being leaded by the ambulance. Keep watching for more information."
He looked at the unconscious bodies of the clients of the company being led out by firefighters and from what he saw, they didn't look good.
-------------
The reporter had mentioned the name of the hospital the injured clients were taken to. To his dismay, Seokjin's name was there in the list if the injured.
He had left immediately to meet Seokjin after hearing his name. He somehow managed to explain the receptionist lady about who he was and whom he wants to pay a visit by writing on another small note book he carries around, other than his diary.
Tears left his eyes when he saw the condition of his friend. Parts of hands and legs wrapped around in bandages and was as pale as paper. He also had a concussion due to a heavy piece of metal falling on his head while trying to escape.
He wasn't injured badly, but it still hurted to see such a cheerful guy, laying on the hospital bed, looking lifeless, throwing up after every loud sound being made, crying his eyes out because of the pain. But Namjoon stayed with him throughout the whole visiting hour.
Once Seokjin was asleep, he took out his diary again, resuming from the point where he left in the morning.
"Why did this happen? What did Seokjin do wrong? He works so hard. He's always there to make me happy, to take care of me, and most importantly, to love me. Why does he have to get hurt like this? That too, in this way."
Namjoon was there, only able to shed silent tears. He wanted to scream. Being unable to do that, made him more frustrated as more tears of anger spilled out of his eyes.
He just wants to live a happy and peaceful life with his loved ones. That's all he wants. Why isn't god letting him do that?
