Children Need Our Love and Protection... Get Involved!

From seeds they grew, molded in our hands,

However, disregard by us to drought and wilt,

To seek water for themselves and nutrients to live,

We  tore them down with our two edged swords,

And with teary eyes we gave them inquisitive looks from our tribunals,

But, how long have we watched them suffer?

How long have we stood aside,

Allowing them to build, wreck and build again,

Themselves and others?

How long will this go on?

Will it ever cease?

Will we get involved, or leave them to grief?

Their bad choices doesn't make them less than others,

Who are we to classify and put them in a box to one corner?

Do we teach them what's right from wrong, anymore?

Do we water them like before, when they were young, prime and barely  faltered?

I see them everyday, blowing carelessly with the wind wherever it goes,

We left them to figure things out, too many times,

They do things, many which they have regretted and may regret soon,

Drug abuse, early sex, crime and violence are just a few,

Get involved,

Not only to correct them,

Be a friend, a protector, a guide and so much more,

Teach them the word of the Lord, so they may aspire to be holy soldiers in the city of Ninevah,

Help them to engage in educational, youthful and helpful programs,

Teach them well, don't leave them for death,

Show them love and they'll reciprocate,

If you don't, they'll be like a cactus in the dessert, surviving but thornful,

Teach them so they will be shinning stars within our desolated world.

Will you still leave them alone, after all that's evident?

Is it really not your problem?

Will you just be a bystander for our crumbling future?

Or will you bring them out of drought? -

Yes, it's true!

Growing them can be bittersweet,

But the fruit form the tree will be exceptional if we just care to intervene,

If we be mindful of their rights,

Without refusing to hear their outcries,

Using kinds words, not two edged cutlasses,

Be thoughtful of them, and don't dig up their roots,

Get involved and be persistent-

Don't. Be. An. Everest!

Causing obstacles and not serving much purpose,

Showing your authority by outlining their failure,

Trampling their leaves because you couldn't achieve it when you were younger,

Your shortcomings, should not be theirs,

No, no longer!

Be genuine in all you do,

For children need our love and protection... Get involved,

You know, it is only the truth.
